As many have said, the staff here are exceptional. From booking our adjoining rooms over the phone, to our check-in and every breakfast interaction, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our family of 4 had a great experience and look forward to coming back! The rooms themselves are a bit older and could use some upgrade, but everything was well stocked and clean. The outdoor pool, hot tub, and fireplace were especially lovely in the evenings where we sat to enjoy hot cocoa and cookies provided by the hotel. A great family stay.Nearby activities: Minutes from Hearst Castle, elephant seal viewing stations, and great beaches.Food & drinks: Breakfast was plentiful, with plenty of variety to please everyone, and well maintained. Staff was very attentive to service and refilled and cleaned throughout breakfast hours. Coffee, tea and cookies were provided in the lobby all day.

I arrived to the Quality Inn gone beyond midnight, the reception isn't manned 24 hours it seems but an envelope with my name was waiting on the desk so I was able to check in at least.The rooms are older in style but totally suitable and clean. Breakfast was the general type of food, though the scrambled eggs were far better than most hotels for a buffet!I was only there for 1 night whilst heading north so not much else to comment on :)

This is my third time staying here and everytime it’s a 10/10! What I really love about this spot is the staff. They are so attentive and kind! The maintenance staff is also very polite and respectful of all your items. And can’t forget about the breakfast! The dining area is clean and the food is amazing. Looking forward to our next stay later this year!

Outstanding stay. Safe area, property well maintained inside and outside. Comfortable and clean room. Friendly and professional front desk staff. Outstanding breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, gravy, plus all the usual). Coffee was actually pretty good. Oh, and the ocean view!!! The only downside was limited space to walk dog on the property. However, right across the street is a huge dog-friendly state park, with access to the ocean. A luxury stay, for a budget price!

We stayed here for two nights and had a mostly pleasant stay. The beds aren't really comfortable, and the property is a little shabby. Rooms in need of updating.TV had a great selection of channels, and the breakfast buffet was tasty with plenty of options. What REALLY made this property sing for me was the gentleman at the front desk in the evenings and the other staff. He was WONDERFUL and so kind. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and gracious. Even the pool man!Don't miss out on the cookies at the front desk. They are yummy! I would stay here again.

My Reset Destination! When you come into the Quality in the clerk is always professional and, welcoming. What I loved! Sweet aroma of fresh cookies and, coffee; or tea that the clerk is quick to offer you. The cookies are good. Also, the hot tub and fire pit. If you love breakfast in the morning like I do! Guess what? What girl ok I'll tell you. They have it too. Quality Matters! Dinner time or Lunch! You can eat at the restaurants near by. Secret the Salmon with wine mouth watering. Take a walk a cross the street to the beach. Don't forget to book your tours at Hearst Castle it is Breath taking and, a beautiful experience! My Happy Place!Safety: Priorities are in order. Relaxation is at this location for me.Noteworthy details: You'll want to keep coming back!

This is an older motel, so, a bit tired in places, but so superbly maintained you hardly notice - just for those who do notice these things.However, it's a wonderful hotel: friendliest manager, delicious, free cookies, huge rooms (almost a suite), nice pool, sea views (but even better sunsets), comfy bed and pillows and nice towels. We also had a nice balcony to sit and watch the sunset. Complimentary coffee in the room and reception. Very generous.They also have a wonderful restaurant on the premises. And the hotel breakfast was wonderful - don't listen to the nay sayers, they served homemade southern biscuits with gravy, make your own waffles and pancakes, bacon and sausages, eggs, fruit, yogurt, juices and more. We loved it!

I stayed there 8/26 in a standard 2 queen room with my mom and daughter and had a very good experience. The staff went above and beyond and was super friendly. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of parking as well. The free breakfast was amazing, not just regular cereal or bagel like most. Bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy and waffles. If we are ever in the area again this is definitely where we will be staying.

Really lovely welcome. Rooms clean and spacious. Stayed just the one night as we were travelling down Highway 1. San Simeon is a must see place - Seals and the castle especially. Breakfast good- wide range of things to choose from the buffet. Yoghurts/cereals/waffles-bagels/English muffins/toast/muffins/pastries/biscuits and gravy/scrambled eggs/bacon/potatoes.I’m not sure if this is a standard thing in the US but there were paper plates/bowls and plastic cutlery. Not the best for the environment generating lots of plastic waste. Having proper plates and normal cutlery would be far better that can be washed properly and re- used.Great value for money especially as we booked just one day before.They also had a pool you could swim in if you wanted to and a patio area.They have a restaurant in the hotel - and there are other options around the town.

We really liked this motel.The motel located on the famous No. 1 state route, just a few minutes from the beach.The room we got was very spacious and very clean.The breakfast was also not bad at all, compared to other motels.Definitely recommended!

I can't really fault this hotel. Is great for what you pay for.We had a good size room that included a microwave, a mini fridge, cable TV, and a coffee machine.Decour, furniture, and electronics are a bit outdated, but they are fully functioning and expected for what you pay.There's a heated pool and a jacuzzi with a fire pit. There's also two vending machines for those wanting a midnight snack or a nibble in general.There were also hot drinks and snacks at the lobby reception until 11pm, and breakfast was included in the reservation.There's a restaurant on site that serves sea food and steak, but it was closed on the weekend, so you might have to drive a couple of minutes to the nearest restaurants.

General manager checking us in was delightful and super helpful when we needed some contact solution. Couldn’t be happier with the service. Breakfast was included and exceeded my expectation based on the cost for the hotel. The room was very clean and everything worked great. Only drawback was that the room didn’t have A/C. I cracked the balcony door (which had a screen) and the temp was fine. For the price this place was a home run. Where in the world are you able to stay 200 yards from the ocean for $99 per night?

Can’t say enough about this hotel! Edward was the nicest host. He knew our names, carried our luggage up the stairs, had fresh chocolate chip cookies out the whole day! Beds were comfortable; bathrooms were clean. The staff kept this hotel clean. I notice things like that; these bathrooms are cleaned, the whole hotel is clean. It may be inexpensive but Edward and his staff keep it clean. Breakfast was good, too. Biscuits, muffins, bacon, eggs, cold orange juice & apple juice. Fresh fruit, apples and bananas. Yes, I’d definitely come back here and I recommend it. Friendly folks both running the hotel and guests!
