A bad experience with three employees.Jackson sold me the wrong part. I found out when I looked at it after leaving the store.Called and talked to Oscar who said he was the supervisor in charge. I asked for when an employee experienced in plumbing who could help me. He gave me the names of three employees who would be in the next day at 10:30am. I got to the store and told two of them didn't work that day and one would be in at 11:00am.The store manager Scott turned out to be a jerk. While helping me, he went to a help another woman customer and spent fifteen to twenty minutes helping her while I waited.This woman customer asked if I was in her way and I said, "Yes." and she said she needed to get to work, and I said I need to get to work also. And then Scott the manager who really shouldn't be raised his voice and said to me if you get confrontational with other customers, you will be kicked out of the store. That was totally out of line, and he should be fired.Scott the manager was very slow and between waiting and helping other customers while helping me, I was in the store for forty-five minutes.Scott ordered a part for me that isn't ideal, but hopefully it will work.In fact, all three of the employees I discussed above should be fired.I called and emailed a national number several times and requested to hear from a supervisor and they never got back to me. I also requested an email address for a district manager, and they forwarded my email to one of the owners of the store.The store owner apologized to me by email and told me those three employees had been talked to in order to improve customer service.I will say again all three of those employees should be fired. If you have difficulties with any employees especially these three, contact the owners.In all fairness, I will say that with simple things I have had good customer service.

Had the only mechanical pasta maker i needed near me. Worth the 30 minute drive, great service with the guy over the phone but not so much the ladies when I got there, they were too busy talking amongst themselves to even open a 2nd register with the line. Store is great though

Well organized store with helpful ( if sonetimes very young) staff. Prices typically (seem) 15% more than 'Home Despot', BUT you won't be putting the money into THAT owners pockets- and you know what kind of politics he supports! SUPPORT THE NEIGHBORHOOD...

We have visited this location several times and have been struck each time by the competence and friendliness of the staff. Kudos to the hiring practices: interesting people caring about their work. We have decided to make this location our go-to store even though it's not the closest. Keep it up. Also....they have everything!

A great place to shop for your household needs. I prefer to shop at the local owned stores versus the big box places that are corporate owned. I'm amazing at how many thousands of different items they have in a relatively small location. The employees are always friendly and very helpful. I purchased a Traeger smoker from them last year, and they assembled and delivered it. I can't recommend the place highly enough.

Many of the young staff are a little rude and spend too much time conversing with themselves and aren't very helpful conversing with each other when help for a customer is needed. Only a few seem to want to really help you. Garden and the older employees are great.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this store. I shopped there for YEARS until moving to SoCal awhile back, and miss them greatly.. I picked up an amazing variety of neat stuff for the home and garden, and often just browsed to see what I could find to ‘re-purpose’… the one down here in Palm Springs seems _almost_ as cool… 😍😎

Similarly to another reviewer I had shockingly terrible service. Especially since I could go to Home Depot, pay a lot less for whatever product I’m shopping for with the expectation of having relatively no service or assistance whatsoever. You go to ace and pay for the service and assistance. So to have terrible service was a shock. I will never go back to that store. Thank goodness we have another ace in San Rafael. I believe they are independently own. So they will be getting all my patronage from now on not to mention I will direct everyone I know not go to that store either. Good job on whoever does the hiring over there.

Shockingly bad service. I waited 10 minutes for someone to begin to help me get paint. Evidently there is one guy in the entire store that knows anything about anything. There were four who knew absolutely nothing and came to him with the simplest of questions, interrupting him as he made my paint.. That’s including the “manager“ running around like a chicken with his head cut off, completely out of his element. To top it all off, they sent me away with 4 gallons of paint and no box. They had no box. Someone should tell them all the paints on the shelf come in boxes. They may want to keep one or two around.

I bought a $1.79 box of screws and gave the clerk a $20.00 and he gave me back $2.44 . When I told him I gave him a $20.00 he Looked at the receipt and said yes , and I gave you $2.44 just like the receipt said...I Tried explaining it to him but he just kept saying The receipt says $2.44 ...I had to raise my voice , then an older man. Came over and told ME I was out of Line...I try to support local stores but this was just WAY OUT OF Line...Perhaps you should take that young man off the register if he can't add I kept telling him it was a dollar 75 and I gave him a 20 and he just kept looking at the receipt and telling me yes he gave me $2.44 change like the receipt said instead of figuring out that he charged me for nine of them she was taxi charging me $18 or 17 whatever his charging me like $15 too much when he gave me back and he just he would not listen he was just kept looking at the receipt like he can't do math in his head

Love this place. Customer for r0 yrs. Old-fashioned atmosphere, great patient service for DIY'ers. Always find what I need. It's like being a kid in a candy store since something I didn"t know I wanted! Always find local builders there as well- a good endorsement from the experts.

Open later than most Ace stores. It is smallish but packed wkth merchandise! I walked in at 10 min till closing to try to find a very odd faucet adapter. Customer service man greeted me as I entered. He did not say one word about the fact that they were about to close; he just smiled and asked if he could help me find something. He went with me to the adapters...apologized for the low stock and spe.t at least ten minutes trying to help me find the correct adapter. I spent another 5- minutes finding a temporary solution-- a universal clamp on adapter.nkw it was past closing time and when I went to check out the cashier asked if I had ti!s to find what I needed and asked if I needed anything else. I asked if they had any nitrile gloves as three other stores had been out and I need them for my Eczema since my hands crack and bleed. Both he and the other clerk moved the grills they had already brought inside so they could get me a box of mediums. They were pricey but at this point I was so wowed by their customer service skills (far too rare of late ) that I didn't mind at all!!. What a nice experience!! Go shop here!! Ace costs a bit more than other big box or harbour freight stores but you get full measure for your money at this honey of a store!!

I've been going to HD for years since they're open later, but Ace's worker are hands down the winner. The staff at 4th, and at Merrydale, are super nice and helpful. They'll help load your truck, I had a dozen bags of gravel, and also find a parking spot. Staff helped me find a part for over twenty minutes during the holidays last year. Life savers.
