Discovering great deals on fresh fruits and veggies is a treat at this spot. However, I have to give it 3 stars because the parking area is consistently in need of some TLC – it's like an adventure navigating through the messy parking lot every time we visit, which is once or twice a month. 🍎🥦🚗✨

I was totally unaware of this store at richmond because i used to go to foodmax and 99 ranch for home grocery. But after my friend told me about this store i am their loyal customer. Wow what a great customer service. Even their managers are cool. There is not much difference in price but what i loved about this store is customer service. Check it out guys. if you haven’t been here you guys are definitely missing something.

Excellent selection bulk food items for a large party. Also lots of take-out containers, foil pans, table cloths, plates, platters, bowls and flatware. House brand foods are competitive with Costco without all the walking. (No free samples however.)

This is one of the best but my complaint is not their fault but needs to be looked into an asian woman yesterday with a red jacket stood in my ear trying to boss me around making me mess up at the lottery vending machine. Causing me to slightly panic 2 employees gave me 2 new dollars she kept rushing me making me rush out while stealing a dollar from me. I think the vending machine should no longer bee there... yes due to one bad apple. honestly nothing like this has ever happened here and i love shopping here but truthfully she was so Sligh with it the vending machine should either be moved to a location where there would be less crowding or get rid of it. I shouldn't have been treated like that.

It's a Smart and Final, but it's EXTRA.Large selection, well stocked, and clean.Update 2023: Now the parking lot has what seems to be a new underground grease trap, so they're now EXTRA extra.

It is a shame that this location has such rude cashiers! Whatever you do, DO NOT come to this store! The two cashiers were talking badly about their customers and even cursing saying the f word repeatedly. I feel bad for the rest of the workers there who were very kind and helpful. By the way, I reported this to the manager and she just sighed and was very dismissive. Shameful and upsetting. Spend your money elsewhere!

I usually shop at Smart and Final once a week. Lately the store is out of sale items. I try to remember to ask for a ring check this time I forgot. I will have to shop again for chicken the store didn't have. I bought a ham that was on sale it was a saltiest ham I've ever had it wasn't worth the sale price of .49 cents a lb. I was very disappointed. I find I have to check my receipt to make sure I got the sales price on items. I only have to check the receipt at your store and Walgreens. I spent $160 plus dollars. I use to get butter and eggs at your store but the price for these items has gone up so much I no longer purchase items from Smart and Final.

This was my 4th trip to this Smart & Final to find a single line that went all the way to the back of the store with only 2 registers open. Yes, people were exercising social distancing but the big problem was due to having only 2 register open. This I just don't understand & I refuse to accept that corporate wants shoppers to believe that they had to cut back due to losses in sales. That is just total typical corporate bull & greed. I have tried calling Smart & Final's Corporate office to discuss what's going on but they refuse to even answer their calls & are allowing the calls to go directly to mailbox that gives the "mailbox full " message. Not only is the parking lot at this San Pablo location the absolute worst, this store is the exact same. Since corporate is not interested in their customers, I for one of many will take my business to FoodMax & Costco where they can afford to offer their customers the better service that they deserve. More people should recognize what's going on here & elect to shop elsewhere rather than waste time in excessively long lines because the corporation wants to maximize their profit by making shoppers wait unnecessarily.

It would have been a great shopping 3xoeruwnce til I went to the check out and encountered a rude cashier with braids. What's wrong with these silly young people. I played it off, but the old me would have chewed her up and spat her out. I let God deal with ignorant/stupid people now for sure. She had an attitude. I read people pretty well.

Came into this location today for the first time, store was ok and seemed to have a good selection of items... but I will never be back to shop at this location again due to the absolute rudest cashier I have ever experienced! Cant believe that man is even employed with the attitude he has and the way he treats customers.

Prices are good. The two stars are due to the lack of effort by the cashiers. Now that bringing your own bag or be charged for a bag is the law The cashiers just stand there after ringing you up. Never asking to assist you or aking if you need help to your vechicle. I even had one checker stare at me like I was holding up her line, by not moving as I put my groceries in my bag. Poor, poor customer service at this location.

I don't like this store anymore...S&F stop selling a certain deli salad without notice..S&F may have one or two good items on sale weekly... Their prices were very reasonable for quality products/bulk products... Store isle are narrow... TOO EXPENSIVE!!!

Warehouse grocery store committed to offering superior service, most of the employees are committed as well especially Nicole. If this place had as much items as food maxx I'd always go here... But I appreciate having this store close by and that I can buy my husband's chef items here too.

Very nice and affordable grocery store closed our salon. I specially goes there to buy rice (Basmati and Extra Long grain) which is very nice quality and I am very much satisfied with my paying. I am visiting since here at least 5 years. I generally recommend you all guys to buy any groceries this is excellent place.

smart and final carters more towards professional food prep (restaurants and catering co's) than the home shopper, as such you are more likely to find a great deal on sugar packets, bulk paper plates or napkins etc. than say tv dinners but for those with a big family or buying items for the company break room they have some great deals.If you are a single male who lives alone and rarely prepares elaborate meals for a family of 5 this is not your go to place to shop and would likely be better off at foodmaxx around the corner.Of the times i have shopped here (buying coffee, creamer and sugar for the office) the store was clean, lines short and staff friendly. The only reason I rate the store a 3, is that it is not a grocery store per say and more of an "industrial" supply store that sells "food"

No need to pay membership like Costco, and you get items as big or bigger than Costco also Smart and Final has items that Costco don't carry.

I went to smart and final in san pablo ca around 4pm when i witnessed a robbery, the cashier noticed a person walking out without paying and she adviced the security guard and she took quick action. She chased him in the parking lot and the cart guy tried to stop him and he drooped the bags he took. They prevented a robbery in the store. I just wanna congragulate the security and the employees good job
