I went to surrender one of my dog as he had gotten into an accident and unfortunately we had no money to pay for his surgery. When we arrived it was nothing but rudeness from owner. They had no sympathy. As me and my sister were crying they ask us to donate money as it would cost them a lot. They later posted my dog and made up a sob story saying we were horrible people, he was an outside-indoor dog just like all of my other dogs and would only go outside if he needed to use the bathroom or went to play with the other dogs , instead they said he was only an outdoor dog and bashed us saying its way to cold for a dog to be outside but as soon as we showed up, all we saw dogs ranging from big and small, puppies to seniors, out in the cold. We also told them his owner was extremely mentally ill and couldn’t take care of him, we also rescued the dog from a very abusive household when he was 3 but since then life took a turn on his owner. They posted saying we never took care of him, not one hair cut or penny to give them and never showed him love. I get your business and money from donations but to post a made up sob story bashing us is way below the belt. They went as far as to say that even his name bothered them, his name was spot because he had a big beautiful black spot on his eye and back. They are very unprofessional! So sad to see the need to bash others in order to get money. In the end i blame myself for going to such horrible place. You can still see the post to this day even though it was from last year but it just never sat right with me. I don’t want anyone who comes from the same place we did to get the same experience.

Julie what a wonderful lady. My dog Lady has been under the weather & Julie has helped us tremendously. I seldom would give a 5 star rating & I would give Jelly's Place more stars if there were more. At least 10 stars out of 5 in my book. Lady my dog had a wonderful grooming experience. Julie's groomer was so good with her, did a wonderful job & made an appointment to groom her again soon. Thank you for such a wonderful no kill shelter and for all that you do for so many animals + all the help you give to others that are low income such as myself and so many others.From what I have seen so far, Jelly's Place, Julie & the staff love animals. Julie was bottle feeding a little bitty kitten & just the look on her face was priceless.Another lady gave me Julie's phone number, I called her & explained the difficulties I was having trying to get my dog Lady the medical attention she was needing. She didn't hesitate, she came to the apartments I live in to check Lady out herself & helped with medication. An appointment was scheduled for Lady to get groomed & also to see the veterinarian, she picked us up & drove us to each appointment & drove us back home, making sure I got the new meds for Lady. Explaining to me what all I needed to do to help Lady, hopefully get better & maybe avoid an operation. If it can't be avoided with the meds, forcing more fluids & taking Lady for longer walk, then a surgery will be scheduled after the 17th.

This is a great place to adopt a pet the owner is very dedicated to helping the animals and finding good homes for them.This is a non profit no kill animal shelter you can go online and research the available animals that are up for adoption and get all the info about them.The animals will be spade or neutered, vaccinated, and I believe they will also be chipped.

Please, please donate to Jellys Place! They are such a positive fixture in the community and we need them. My friend's 9yr. old dog had a giant tumor on her ear and my friend didn't know she was going to pay for a 10k surgery to gave it removed. I sent her to Jelly's place and they were able to refer her to a low cost facility and she ended up only paying $250! The dog is still doing great, it been about 2 years since the surgery was done.

Adopted my little bestie from them in May after my childhood dog passed away. He’s the best thing that’s happened to me. I remember everyone was both sad and happy to see him get adopted. Staff was super nice and helpful throughout the process.

It has been a month or so since we adopted our sweet boy Trevor and he has been happier ever since! Our first visit of meeting him, a couple of employees explicitly said they hated Trevor, which is outrageous and very unprofessional. That same day, my sister and I decided to adopt Trevor no matter what, and that is exactly what we did. The employees were not hesitant to say something so disgusting in front of us, who wanted to adopt him. Trevor is the sweetest boy, and it is concerning to witness the employees behavior towards Trevor, when they work at a dog shelter! I needed to say something because I can’t imagine them not having these strong feelings towards the other dogs there. Dogs have different types of trauma and different situations. It is not acceptable for them to hate the dog and blame it for its behavior. Jelly’s Place needs to be more patient and should not discourage people who fill out applications and who genuinely want to adopt the dog.

Jelly's Place is a no kill shelter that is mostly volunteers. They make sure the animals are medically healthy, and spayed or neutered. I can't say enough good things about Jelly's Place.

Such a good hearted place. You fill out a form and they match you with your ideal companion. They will bring out the dog or animal to come meet you. Most these animals need to be saved from china meat market

These are the nicest people in the East Bay. There's so many dogs, and they are all super well taken care of. After going to a bunch of places, that have only a few to look at, I found my dog in one visit. I also didn't have to do major background check/ almost get fingerprinted, like some places. The staff and volunteers are so helpful in describing the dogs. I wish I could get another.

Dog person who also shelters cats and tweakers. In el sobrante its hard to keep them out, but they take care of the dogs better than the cats, and no shelter will take the tweakers in.

I went by because I was curious to see what kind of dogs they have and am interested in adopting a dog. When I went a rude lady came up and was like you can’t just come and look at the dogs. And then I was on my way to leave and I saw some cute puppies and took a picture because they were adorable and was interested in there breed and the same lady who told me “I can’t just look at the dog” came and said you can’t take pictures of the dogs. She made the feeling of being excited and look at the dogs and try to adopt one so horrible. Made me feel so unwelcome if you running a rescue shelter I would think that you would welcome the customer in a more lovely way to get them excited to pick a bestie.

The people at Jelly's care A LOT. The animal's welfare is their #1 priority, each and every time. They go to extreme physical and financial lengths to heal and care for hurt, sick, & abused surrendered animals and those pulled from horrible conditions or euthanasia lists. Unless you are intimately involved in an animal shelter or rescue center you have no idea how difficult (emotionally and physically) and expensive this endeavor is. The community is very fortunate to have them. This is a wonderful place to find your next family member. You will receive an animal who has had the best care possible AND support an extremely worthy cause so they can save more animals. Noone does this for the money, people.

This place is an absolute god-send! They are generous and have full hearts for the animals! I was in a terrible jam and these people went above and beyond to help my dog. I will forever be in debt to these people, especially Julie! That is a wonderful woman right there!

Meegan answered my call right away. She was very kind and pleasant. You can definitely tell there is love and care here at jellys place. They are full at the moment but she was happy to help me find resources to help my senior dogs find a new home. Great lady great place!

Jelly's Place is a great place to go to adopt. The staff are happy to give you information and are friendly, they help you meet the dogs (or cats) there, and the adoption process is relatively simple. Would definitely recommend them!

Leslie is always non stop working God bless her, Shantel was very helpful and knowledgeable wit cats and dogs, she took her time to show me around the shelter. I named her after my upcoming store and company "Grabbit" since her personality is like and rabbit =)

I've given to Jelly's Place from time to time. I wish my finances allowed me to give consistently. This time I gave a helpless homeless kitten all alone on the street, which I picked up on my way back to the house. Jelly's is ALWAYS willing to lend a hand. I APPLAUD Jelly's staff for their compassionate soul for animals. THANK YOU for being there! I encourage the community to support Jelly's Place anyway you can.

Sadly, we had to return a dog that wasn't the right fit for an apartment, and Jelly's was very understanding. They were really nice in general; good people who run a no-kill shelter. We had zero issues with this place across two extended interactions. They're wonderful if you want to adopt a pet - just make sure your environment is a good fit first! :)

We had a great experience with the folks at Jelly's Place. They are largely (if not all?) volunteers, and, having been in touch with other rescue groups who also run on volunteers, we knew it might take some time. Our experience was consistent, helpful communication back and forth over a few weeks. That was good because it gave us time to really think about our decision.Once you meet the people of Jelly's Place, you'll feel how much they are giving of their heart and soul to help all the animal companions in their care - you can tell they love what they do, and they love the animals they are helping to transition into forever homes. In the end. we decided it wasn't the right time for us to adopt, but we ended up donating anyway based on our positive experience with them, in hopes that what we were able to give would help the animals in their care. Thank you Jelly's Place!

These people are so caring and good at what they do. I have two dogs from Jelly's, and they came to me wonderfully well socialized. We adopted our first pup, Jasper, and loved him so much that we asked Jelly's to call if they got a dog they thought would be a great match for Jasper. I thought they would forget us for sure, but six months later, they called! Jasper and Pacino are best friends, and they found us and each other thanks to Jelly's.

My beautiful dog passed away three weeks ago… I went to jelly‘s yesterday to see the dogs available… I was standing outside when a woman came around the building… I asked her was there anyone that could help me? She responded, do you have an appointment? I said no, bI didn’t know I needed one. She asked have you filled out the adoption papers I said no, do I need to to ask questions? She said What is your question I said I was wondering about the dogs over there under the little awnings… She said that takes too much time! And walked away from me. She was abrupt, I am aware she was busy, but there was no need for her to B rude. I said I guess you’re not interested in people adopting dogs? She did not respond.I’m very unhappy with this encounter I am a supporter or was a supporter of jelly’s I donate to Jelly’s and expect more courtesy, even if I didn’t donate to them.

Fantastic dog Rescue place. Saves them from the slaughterhouse in China and Korea. I got a great dog from there. Great staff very friendly
