The photos that are posted are far from what the store actually looks like. As soon as you approach the store, there is this weird smell. Almost like something is rotting, it's weird. The food prices are okay but I notice a lot of their home items are cheaply made. I get that the SM community needs something in their little town but to take advantage of their people is awful!! I won't ever go nor recommend this place to anyone.Also, this place is not wheelchair accessible. Merchandise boxes are stacked high, blocking the walk ways, you almost cannot fit their yellow cart. Just use caution for those little too.

Such a blessing for our tiny town! I love that I can pop in for milk or eggs between grocery trips in town. Everyone is always super nice and helpful. Great frozen food section. Great office/arts and crafts section. GREAT homegoods and seasonal stuff. Just bought some adorable cushions and wall art for the R.V. Oh and the $1 candy section is my fave!!

The staff is competent....but it is difficult to stay 'on task' (unloading/pricing inventory) and run the registers at the same time.A few people (and their kids as well) have 'caught on' to come in as large and purposely uncontrolled groups....going up and down the isles...disrupting inventory and pilfering merchandise....I have been quite outspoken when I have seen this...and loudly confronted the women with their passel of kids....they pretend to not understand English.

So much stuff to buy. I go in for 1 or 2 things, and i end up buying 10 to 12 things. The employees are very helpful and nice. This is one if my favorite places to shop at. You should definitely check it out.

Dollar General DriverManager was very nice and personal, I regret not getting her name for the review.. as a truck driver who goes home 1x/2x a week I’m alone pretty often in my truck so some positive human interaction goes a long way for us. Thanks.,

I live there seven years ago where they didn't have a decent store I've since moved away and decided to stop and see if I could find a few purchases a was needing and believe me they had it and so much more . It was a excellent store to have an San Miguel they have socks underwear clothes leggings food snacks cigarettes mints toilet paper water juice cereal ice you can do it one stop and not have to empty your wallet I give it a 10 star myself 😁💯 on top of that excellent service ....thank you Dollar general

I happened to stumble upon this store a couple of months ago and what a great find. I had always thought that San Miguel was further away than it actually is. I signed up for their e-mail program and not only do I receive their ads they also send me bonus coupons based on my prior purchases. This store is a hidden gem in a little town. If you live in the area you really need to do yourself a favor and check it out.

We've needed a store like this on the Central Coast, this is the only one of its kind up here in the North County. Yes - we do have the $ tree stores, but this place has so much more too offer, all reasonably priced items, even the food!

Store #17422 ReviewOn April 24th, I found myself at Dollar General in San Miguel, CA desperately in need of tools to help my 24 year old cousin who was stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery. Unfortunately, Dollar General did not have the supplies I needed, however, the store manager, Luis, came to my rescue. He allowed me to borrow his personal tools without even asking for my name. I promised to return them, but he didn't even know who I was before entrusting me with his personal items. I'm so grateful for Luis because his customer service extended beyond the store and made the difference for us.  He is a man of character and should be recognized as such.Thank you so much, Luis. Dollar general. This is the only one that I know of in this area. Its great for multiple reasons. Only thing I dislike is that aisles are a mess, I believe its due to lack of staffing. I usually see 2 to 3 employees in store and mainly they are on a register.

Best little store in San Miguel. Has a little bit of everything with low prices. If I could change one thing that would be to add a little fresh fruit and veggie variety. Otherwise, I go there for all the little things. Quick in n out.

Worked in this store for a merchandiser, slow service, employees explained lots of theft here so nothing on the shelves really. Floors very filthy, uncleanded and full of dusty shelf products. This store for sure DG should close.

The store manager Sean was absolutely amazing, Luis was very very good as well helped us with everything we needed and made sure we got what we wanted. All in all a very great shopping experience!!!

The people are always helpful although the lines are always long. I feel like a lot of their prices are too high for Dollar General. But you can find some good deals

This place really does have a great hard working staff who go out of there way to help you find what you are looking for .I wish all retail stores had a polite staff and clean store like this one in San miguel....Keep up the good work guys ..

I like this store but I don’t like that it smells so fragrance condensed. It’s small and crowded and the mix of over stocked fragrance product doesn’t help.

Just what the town needed! They have friendly and helpful staff. The prices are offten better then Walmart and it saves you the 20mile round trip to the nearest walmart.
