This is a smaller store than most, but it still has a good selection of brands and foods, high-quality produce, and a good bakery. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in any checkout line, and their self-checkout kiosks actually work. I also appreciate that they sell pods for Nespresso, which many grocery stores don't.

This afternoon as I was exiting the store with my son, we almost got hit by an e-bike with two teenage girls riding on it. They were going very fast and came within inches of us. It was frightening! This happened at the store front, not in the parking lot. If someone were to get injured then Albertsons would be liable because they have a duty to maintain a safe environment. Regardless, I informed the store manager, Miranda. I was shocked by her response and attitude to say the least! She asked if they were riding their bike in the store. I told her, "No, the store front." Then she said there's nothing they could really do about it. I said, "Well the store front is part of your premises. Why can't you talk to them? " That's when Miranda snapped at me, "Well maybe if you'd let me get off the phone then maybe I could talk to them!" How did someone so unprofessional get promoted to a manager is beyond me.... Since my concern wasn't addressed properly, I called back the store and spoke to Mark, the general manager. He listened to me and discussed how he was going to address this safety issue. That's how a true professional handles problems. Thank you, Mark.

I almost always have a problem getting waited on at the meat/seafood counter. This morning I was there ~9 a.m. and I didn't see anyone there to help me. I waited; called "hello"; waited; and called again. Nothing. I could see someone in the very back but he didn't come out. I didn't see any other employees to ask for help. Frustrated, I walked out and drove to Vons to do my shopping. An inexpensive bell on the counter, as I've seen in other stores, would be good for shoppers. Your store lost my business today and in the future I'll try to avoid shopping there. I purchase a lot of fresh seafood and I'm tired of having to go through this each time I purchase seafood.

It's really sad how run down this location is today. I've purchased a few expired food items countless times, without knowing. They have a handful of employees standing around talking and not working much. Not very helpful. And extremely rude!!! They shut down the self checkout at 8pm. The restrooms are disgusting. They don't have working wheelchairs. And produce is never fresh. It's become a very inconvenient shopping experience every time. The're a few really nice employees, but useless employees by the dozen. Vons is becoming our new home for groceries.

Great grocery to have within walking distance. Good selection for a smaller store. HUGE liquor section, like almost two isles! Not gonna lie I would rather have the ice cream section be bigger but for those who like to try a variety of liquor this would be a great place to check out. They always have a very abundant clearance section in the back left where the restrooms are which is really nice. I love the ceasar salads they make fresh at the store as well as the yogurt parfaits(which sell out super quick!). Always have had a pleasant experience with the employees. I have a bad habit of running over there when they are near closing, but they are always incredibly kind and patient. I had an issue with my card one night after going big grocery shopping, and had scanned everything at self checkout. But was having problems with my card and I wasn’t having a good day, so (embarrassingly) I kind of lost it. And was then surprised when as I was storming out, an employee who came off as being a manager(I think his name is Pat) asked if they could hold it for me in the back freezer. I thought that was so kind and a great way to handle a frustrated customer. I couldn’t help but no longer feel frustrated/angry anymore when shown that level of kindness. Still super embarrassing but felt the need to share, as great customer service should be recognized😊

Nice small grocery store. Always find a decent selection of items here.HOWEVER, I once had an issue with the self-checkout and the cashier accused me of stealing (funny because I had just lectured my kids on stealing). Same cashier once accused another couple, with a small baby, of stealing. Don't think he works there anymore.Other than that, it has been great!

Worst store (#750) and bad policies. This location is always understaffed with only 1 working checkout line whenever I visit. Self Check is available but always halts and requires clerk assistance if I have fresh baked goods or unusual items. Since there is no staff around the wait for help is always long. To get digital coupons, member deals, or member rewards, you have to enter your phone number. On two visits, the keypad entered typos in my phone number so I didn't get the deals. Today (Aug 26, 2023), when I noticed and told the checkout clerk (Anthony) my phone number was entered incorrectly, he said he can't fix it without having to void and rering all my items. As a result, I was overcharged by $8.63. Add to these inefficiencies and inconveniences the fact that Albertson's prices are usually $1-2 higher per item than Stater's or other stores. This store is literally 1/4 mile away from my home, but I WILL GO OUT OF MY WAY TO AVOID SHOPPING AT ALBERTSONS. I am DONE being inconvenienced and ripped off.

They carry a limited amount of meats...roasts, steaks, etc. I never have found a specific roast I've been looking for. Produce department is much better. I intentionally don't shop around the time school gets out. It's flooded with loud and obnoxious kids both inside and outside the store.

The staff are always nice. Except there was a manager there that I literally saw hide on several occassions when there was work needing to be done. The store is usually clean. They close the main doors at 9 making it super inconvenient to enter the store. And every time I'm there (on average twice a week) at least three of the items I put in the cart are expired or past the best buy date. No other Albertsons in the area seems to have this issue. It's almost as if they are purposely trying to make people sick.

I go here absolutely every day. It's the slowest store in the area, which I love. If you go to Ralph's over the hill you'll spend at least 10 minutes in line

Awesome changes in the bakery department. We've been able to find an assortment of No sugar added and SUGAR FREE items to keep our sugar intake low. And also to fit into our Keto lifestyle. Check it out!

This five stars was given when comparing it to similar business and other locations. This place was clean, neat, and easy to navigate through. We were able to locate exactly what we wanted even though this was our first visit. They have a good amount of self checkout and even provided a hand spray for customers to use before and after visiting.

This Albertsons is pretty alright. They have a pharmacy so you can get your prescriptions or vaccinations while you’re in there getting groceries. They have a pretty good selection of organic produce and a few of the gluten free items I like to buy. They could definitely expand there gluten free section. The only thing that is off putting is apparently the middle school gets out around 1:30-2 and they all flock to Albertsons every day. They crowd the outside and inside of the store in large groups. Avoid those times if possible.

This Albertsons is great! I love that they have a Gluten Free section. My husband has a hard time with the layout as some of the items aren't very intuitive - like the milk/cheese/sour cream/eggs are in odd places. Sometime's he'll drive across town to a different store for a store better layout. Even a staff member told me once that they agreed and had a hard time finding things. I'm hoping this could be fixed, but then I guess they might mess up all the locals who do know their way around. Just an idea :)

Produce at this store is the bomb dot com. Prices are higher than other stores in the area, but they keep everything in stock, so you know you only have to make one stop. Staff is insanely friendly and helpful. If the prices were a bit better, would be 5 stars.

To the parents who think this Albertsons is an after school day care facility… You are the worst and so are your bratty kids.To the store: please don’t obstruct exits or exit paths with carts. If there is an emergency (like a fire or even more likely nowadays, an active shooter), we need to be able to get out of the store to safety as fast as possible without unnecessary obstructions in our way.

I went there to get some baby food for my baby and when I was checking out there was an issue with my purchase and the manager was called. When she came she was not friendly at all and she was rude. Her name was Iris. I'm definitely not going back there again.

Clean and friendly but the after school crowd is ridiculous. Some parents need to get their homes in order and reign in some allowances. The prices also seem to reflect the wealth of the area a little too much, so my recommendation is you look elsewhere for groceries if you're pinching pennies.

It's a nice clean store and the staff is very helpful here. You can find just about everything here. And the selection of meat is outstanding. The prices are on the high side but it's the only store in San Elijo Hills.

I wish I got the names, but unfortunately I didn’t. We were in a growing checkout line and the woman at the cash register was doing a good job given the long line with no help. There were people at the self checkout that needed help. The woman asked a guy that was doing nothing to help those people. His response was “I don’t know what they need” and did nothing. Meanwhile customers had to wait while people the one woman helping went over to help the self service lanes.Terrible attitude by that guy, kudos to the woman (wish I knew her name) who was doing everything for everyone.

I don't go to this grocery store unless it's an emergency. We just needed water on the way home from a day out hiking. There are more convenient stores that are a better fit for me in terms of inventory.

I went to the Albertson Market this morning in San Elijo, and the cashier Laura, had a very angry face during the check out process and repeatedly called staff for packing. When the staff came, She was angry for not being there with her and hysterically threw the three boxes of soda.I can not forget the uncomfortable feeling when I came home. Whenever I see those 3 boxes of soda in my house It reminds me of that employee’s attitude, which changes my emotions during that specific time into a more pessimistic feeling... I would probably think of her terrible behavior and angry face every time I drink the sodas now. I noticed that there are less customers at Albertsons for the past 2 years. It’s probably because of the poor staff’s service, like Laura....

This location is notorious for expired food from rancid chicken, sour dairy, and old baby food. They also discontinue items. BBQ chicken wings were discontinued, then brought back. Today they discontinued honey wings. They even discontinued jelly donuts until enough people complained. Who doesn't like jello donuts??Also do NOT go there when the middle school lets out. Rowdy kids running and screaming, self-checkouts are closed, and parents use the front for pickup making it difficult to get out of the parking lot.However, employees and friendly and helpful.
