My first time here - very good selection in package sizes finally adequate for a family of five. So many stores sell such small portions and packages that are only good for a single meal. I don't want to waste all of my time grocery shopping, I'd likento buy for at least a week or two and this is a place that allows me to do so. Impressive selection of spices and cuts of meat.

It's kinda like Costco with large bulk items, a frozen food section and produce section. They also have a nice supply of professional quality cooking tools like whisks, scoops spatulas,etc.

Always excellent staff. Smaller in March than Oakland but cool deals and large parties it's the way to go w meat and canned things. They pack boxes not bags lol

I've passed by this store for many years as I've traveled to and fro. Decided to stop in and have a look. Turns out this store a discount outlet for chef's that happens to serves the general public also. Found all the things I wasn't looking for and saved about $150.00 on my shopping list. After loading the food into my car went back and shopped some more. The staff really enjoyed talking with the coustmers. They are a delightful bunch.YES I'M GOING BACK and it's quite all right if you see me there. Don't forget to smile and say hi.

Made a quick stop to see what was inside. Not bad but there are better prices on certain items at other stores. This one reminded me of a slightly smaller version of a smart and final. Glad I found a 5 dozen case of extra large eggs though! I also was surprised to see they carried things like bulk organic coconut oil. There's also a decent meat selection. I was even happier that there weren't many people in the store and there was no line - beats waiting in the long lines at Costco any day. Plus, no membership required! I'll definitely be coming back.

Consistently good source of supplies for large scale meal prep, we do regular Pancake breakfasts for DeMolay as a fundraiser, and are able to make some money for the boys through shopping here and charging only $10 a plate. Have priced against smart and final or grocery outlet, and there are many items here that are the best unit price, and even those that are not are competitive.

First visit and fell in love. Not crowded, good prices. Partner and I looking for compostable cups and they do have them in different sizes!!! You want shopping bags they got paper bags in all the sizes. I picked up a bottle of Malt vinegar which for some reason is hard to find. They have decent prices similar to Costco or even WinCo. Not as much variety as Winco but still good. 25 pound bag of instant oats was about 26 bucks. Extensive selection of Torani and other syrups. Lots of frozen foods, usually in 5 pounds or larger. They have a lot of serving and metalware, knives, gadgets, etc. Cheese and meat. They know their neighborhood.

Always a great place to buy bulk items. Cheaper than a lot of other places. Carry a lot of stuff that others don't. Mostly geared toward businesses. I buy bulk soda syrup and they are kind enough to special order for me. Huge meat and dairy section as well as breads and tortilla wraps. I find this the best place to buy wood pellets for my smoker grill.Overall, I like shopping there.

Lots to choose from, fresh produce, meats in all sorts of quantities and types, dairy, all your restaurant needs as well as large family gatherings. Pricing is great and competitive, recommend a stop in if not just to get ideas for your next get together (when we can!).

I like this place it has good prices and there is never line at the cashier, the employees are always willing to help you to load into your car. The produce are a good quality. They friendly helpful staff.

Just went to pick up some frozen cut up red potatoes which were in stock. No waiting in line. The checkout clerk greeted me in a friendly manner. He thanked me for my business.

I love this store. It is not crowded. You don't need membership to go here. You can get all kinds of bread, meat, frozen stuff, containers etc. I would go here to avoid crowded Costco

Priced affordably. Fresh produce, selection of cheeses are mouth watering with proceuitto and the cheesecake is just like some of the restaurants often dined. Never have I had to wait in line

I love shopping here. You can get low prices on vegetables and deli meats, cheeses. This store sells products to resturants but I buy many of the same product. They have a great freezer section. This store I highly recommend.

If you shop regularly at smart foodservice it's worth the drive to shop at the San Lorenzo location. Lots of parking, wide aisles, huge reefers with produce, dairy and meat and wonderfully un crowded. I also shop at the Santa Rosa location and it's so busy, cramped parking and narrow aisles... Don't get me wrong, I love my Santa Rosa smart foodservice people, they are amazing! That said, if you are in the east bay, the San Lorenzo store is great. Quick checkout, friendly staff, what more do you want?

I love this location.i live in oakland and rather spend my time driving to san lorenzo location.Always have exactly what i am there to shop for, very friendly staff. Assistant manager Ernesto always directs me in the right location of what it is I am shopping for helps me load my car and is considerate in the way he places my groceries.A deff 5 star review since new management has taken place thank u smart food service!!!!

I'm concerned with the weight of the product they charge. They seem to include the weight of the packaging with the cost of there products. I reweighed the salmon on several of my purchases and this was what I'm basing my facts.
