Shop at smaller mom and pop stores that actually care for the pets they have. Multiple dead betta fish and many more that were not in good health when I visited this store. This is basic care that is overlooked not only for their betta fish but for all other animals they have. Do NOT support PETCO and their lack of basic humanity.

I placed an order for delivery and paid for it in full. I signed up for recurring deliveries and also took advantage of the 25% off friends and family discount that was offered over the weekend.My order was never delivered and I received an email and a text late in the night saying my order had been cancelled.I called the phone number provided and was not given any reason for my order being canceled. They said all they could do was refund my credit card.I am very disappointed because now I have lost the 25% discount.This was the first time I had placed an order online for delivery and it will be the last time.

I love PETCO. You can tell that they really love animals there...they always have smiles on their faces.They are knowledgeable, if they don't know the answer they will be happyTo tell you that and make sure you get someone else who does..P.S My little Gidget loves them they always rub her tummy and give her a treat. The staff at this Petco are extremely friendly and helpful. Most Saturdays they hold a kitty adoption. So many cute kitty cats that need a home. Please come and give a fluffy kitty a home.

This store is well-stocked has a very wide selection for everything you might need for your pet's health, hygiene, and feeding, they also have low cost vaccinations from a mobile Clinic around once a month, check with your local Petco to find out when the clinic will be in your town.

My family and I took our puppies here for shots, the staff was so loving and caring towards the litter (there were 4 puppy frenchies total), and they were able to keep them calm with treats! Overall, it was a great experience.

Since we have a new puppy we started to go to Petco in San Juan Capistrano and are just amazed by the friendly and supportive staff. Maureena has been wonderful in helping us to fully understand all the benefits we get from signing up for the Vital Care program and we could not be happier. Every time we talk into the store, we are so happy to see her and appreciate her patience answering all our questions as new puppy parents. We have also used the Vetco vaccination clinic and everybody is very loving with our puppy and so patient and knowledgable. We highly recommend the store and using the Vetco services. THANK YOU MAUREENA AND TEAM FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT WITH OUR PUPPY.

Employees here are beyond caring and helpful. Having been to this store for the last few years. I can confidently say they are worth the visit! Always happy to help and find anything you may be looking for. Don't forget to bring the fur babies along!! They love shopping around all the great products they have to offer! :)

I was very happy with the grooming services at Petco. Our dog, Cleo, hadn’t been washed or had her nails trimmed in a while. So when she came out feeling super soft and clean, I could tell that they did a very thorough job bathing and scrubbing her. There was no residual smell or oiliness from the shampoo they used which indicates to me that they must be using a quality dog shampoo. The staff was super friendly and appeared confident handling dogs of all sizes. The drop off was easy and our dog was ready for pick up 3 hours later, within the timeframe promised. Note: first timers need to bring proof of current/latest rabies vaccination from a vet.

This place is awesome! My dog loves going to the Groomer Hannah. She is great with my Chihuahua. My roommate has a German Shepard that Hannah Grooms also. He was so calm with her. The store is so organized and neat and the employees were all very helpful. I enjoy going to this Petco every time. If i could, id give them 10 stars.

I found Gold fish I have been trying to get a hold of unsuccessfully from other stores here. They did not answer their phone so I had to drive down to check and was lucky. The staff seem to be super busy with online orders to the point that when you ask them a question they tell you to wait while they finish the online order first and then get to you. I find this very disappointing since I have taken the effort to go to the store and of course the online order could wait.They have a good fish selection but the poor dead ones need to be taken out and not left there like a waste on top of the tank 😡

The cashier was not engaging or kind at all. He wouldn’t make eye contact and made no small talk. I asked him to check prices for me and he was cold. When I was going to exit the store I accidentally grabbed the wrong item to take home with me. When he noticed rather than pointing it out he laughed at me and reached for the item. Definitely not coming back here. I have never had such a terrible experience.

The staff were very helpful at the specific location! Also good variety of fresh water fish and clean tanks! Also my dog agrees that this should deserve 5 paws because they had free snacks by the register

5 stars at this PetCo location for customer service and for personalized service. I've never experienced that at any pet supply store like I do here. You get 5 starts for Maurice. He greeted us very happily "Welcome to PetCo, where the pets go!" Even got my grumpy husband to light up and smile. You can tell he really loves his job and it shows. He is an asset to PetCo, that's for sure. I heard him giving other customers the same attention & amazing attitude. The store is showing severe signs of wear and tear. The front door and a shelf was broken. But having employees like Maurice there makes up for corporates short comings. We usually go to PetSmart but will start coming here instead. Thanks!

Always a treat for my kitties when I come in here. I can never help myself and always end up buying new toys or treats. This time it was artisan catnip. Don't judge, they got tired of the same old stuff and it always brightens my day to watch them happily rolling in. The only down side was they no longer carry the type of litter I use

I love Meagan ! She used to be in grooming and now she’s on the floor. She is so nice and loves Andy my cocker spaniel. She trimmed his eyelashes yesterday and didn’t even want a tip. I have her a great tip too and she was so appreciative. She works at the San Juan Capistrano Petco and wants to be manager. ! I hope she can. She’s awesome .

I always find what I need. I believe that stuff need more training on helping customers on their needs especially when asking questions. Example I started shopping at this location I just recently got a new poppy I have never had a puppy my mind was blank didn’t know what to do what what’s my needs for my poppy I asked questions to two associates and they didn’t know where to direct me I have to do a research on my own.

It's easy to tell that the employees at this location are invested in providing amazing customer service and that they really do care about our pets. I had the greatest experience when shopping here on Christmas Eve. I highly recommend this location to anyone who is in need of pet supplies .

I appreciate Petco's variety in stock and price generally. I had wanted to get a female betta and stopped in to get one. Lower rating because some customers were not wearing face masks(not the company's fault) and the selection of Female Bettas was lower then I'd like(only about 6 female bettas in stock)

This San Juan Capistrano Petco has a good location, just off the five freeway. It's in a shopping center with a grocery store and some restaurants, etc. Parking is pretty tight for Orange County. It's a small Petco inside, about half the size of what I'm used to. It was well stocked, which hasn't always been true at other so cal Petcos I've patronized in the past year.

My dog was crying and terrified when I went to pick him up . They left him alone in the back room. They didn't do his teeth and his nails . Very disappointed with the service and the attitude of the girl who was sitting in the front desk .

I stopped to get out of my car and go to catch Pokemon on the game Pokenon Go! While doing so im walking and i eventually come around a corner to find a petco employee taking pictures of my girlfriend and my license plate on my car! I approach her to ask WHY! and she starts talking about how shes going to send my information to the police....(and say what) she said i was on "private property" and that i COULDNT park in front of the store and that i was "trespassing" the same woman taking the pictures was following me around (me: a person of color) after i had walked past her minutes before as she was smoking cigarettes. She told me i couldnt leave my car on (it was on because my girlfriend had the air on while i played my game) after i seeked a manager she attempted to run away from me and threatened to call the cops (again for what?) I hadnt done a thing wrong. She procedded to hide behind offices and glass doors. The manager stated how people "around their store" have alot of drug traffic and how people smear poop on walls OH YEAH!! and also that these people doing such acts ARE HOMELESS!!! So I don't understand why that has to involve me! Ive never seen such poor actions from and employee especially when they go SO far out of their way to bother someone and ruin their day! I dont believe this wouldve happened to anyone else. But because of the color of my skin i was put on as a target. I will be following up with this store until i speak to a HEAD manager and get an explanation as to why they hire such employees who feel like they should be apart of the FBI investigation team instead of selling the dog and cat food they were hired for. Everything you need for your pets you can find here. Dogs, cats, reptiles, lil furries. If its not at this location they'll call another store. If you show the same product online for a better price they'll match it. And the GROOMING SALON get out of here they're fantastic above and beyond all the time.

I like this Petco because of its convenient location and helpful staff. There is always someone to help you if you can't find something. staff is friendly and there is almost never a wait. My only complaint is the selection is smaller than some of the bigger pet supply stores around.
