I have thought about staying here for years and finally took my wife here for our anniversary. We both really enjoyed our stay. This hotel has a very nice historic feel yet it has many nice modern updated features. The things that we enjoyed the most were the gas fireplace, comfortable mattress, and the decor both in our room and throughout the hotel. Expedia Shows that the beds have Tempur-pedic mattresses. My wife and I have slept on this brand of mattress for years because she has joint problems, and we consider it the best. It turned out that the mattress was actually a Posturepedic mattress by Sealy. Although we still prefer Tempur-pedic mattress, this was still a superior mattress to all other hotels we've stayed at, and my wife slept well on it.The bathtub was big enough for two people to enjoy the jacuzzi tub feature although we did not use this ourselves. The tub also has two shower heads on opposite sides of the shower. We enjoyed the nice mission style decor of the hotel. There were many nice pieces of furniture and design touches such as large acorn finials in the hall safety rails and a cute chandelier above the minibar. I have uploaded some examples of these. The included breakfast was typical of a standard continental breakfast at a decent hotel. Food items included hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles, and juice. They did have many different flavored waffle batter choices which was a small upgrade over standard waffle batter. The hotel is in an ideal location to walk to the many shops and the Mission San Juan Bautista.

We did a short bike tour and stayed in the Posada San Juan. It was a fantastic stay. Each room has a deep jacuzzi tub wide enough for two. Take your bath salts. It felt great after a long ride. The lower hall had a gorgeous terrarium and the Hotel feels warm and inviting. The large stone fireplace in the entry was also a beautiful place to sit and relax.

We loved the Hotel in SJB Downtown. The Details, the huge Lobby Hall, the Jacuzzi Pool in the Room, the wide hallways with daylight and Plants, the history, the breakfast with waffles, fresh fruits and Coffee… all was great!

My wife and Mother-in law stayed here a couple of years ago and spoke very highly of it. Today, I decided to work out of the home office and needed a place to park myself and make a zoom call and was able to use their dining/lounge area for my call. Very accommodating and flexible staff - even though I was not a guest today. Thanks Posada De San Juan. I'll be back for an official stay!

Located right in the middle of town. Perfect for strolling main street. The room was clean and the bed was cozy. The employees were kind and helpful. I asked about places to eat and got good suggestions. The breakfast was excellent. Lots to choose from. Make your own waffle, cereal, yogurt, pastries, eggs, and coffee from the local coffee shop. Five stars. Easy.

Despite reading other reviews prior to our visit I was a little doubting but I have to take it all back. The hotel isn't quite as beautiful on the outside as it is in the inside. I chose a room with a single queen bed and it was roomy and comfortable. Everything was immaculate as well. The rooms are modern, with new mini-fridges, large flat screen TVs with cable. The room's best feature is the unadvertised hot tub style dual shower head shower/tub combo. It's jetted too! This tub was used at the beginning of the day and at the end of each night during our stay! I didn't try the breakfast, because there's a handful of restaurants right around the corner. Literally every in downtown San Juan is walking distance. The hotel is perfectly placed right in the middle. Well done Posada de San Juan! Kudos!

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at this hotel! It is clean and protected in front, with easy parking. As you approach the front door you realize that a serious craftsman has put beautiful woodwork and tile work into the gorgeous lobby with its amazing fireplace and staircase. There is old-world quality here. The owner is delightful. There is a peacefulness here we didn't expect. Our restaurant last night was a short walk away (the Basque restaurant). Our room was clean and spacious. Everything was clean, clean, clean! What we didn't know about was the enormous, two-person jet bathtub in the bathroom. What a treat, and plenty of hot water! Everything in this hotel is well-maintained , including the plants in the atrium. Very nice continental breakfast. We were sad to leave as we had a deadline!

This place is completely charming and the owners seem to really care about the place and their guests. The jet tub in every room is a huge plus. Since I was the only guest, a tray was left waiting right outside my door in the morning with pastries, fruit, and a coffee machine! It was also great to be in the quaint downtown area, just a couple blocks from the mission. I can't believe the value; all the chain motels in the area (Salinas, etc) were more expensive and have nothing on this place. Highly recommend!!

Lovely hotel with classic design and decor, but modernized conveniences. Very comfortable memory foam type mattress on the bed. Two headed shower over a deep jetted tub. Contenental breakfast was quite decent for covid times, though not that special otherwise. Nice that you could get to the main street through a little connected alley to the hotel.

We had a wonderful time staying here with a family wedding party. Everything about this place is charming, from the interior hallway fountain and trees (!) to the coffee cart in the back patio. The rooms have gas fireplaces, jetted tubs, and mini refrigerators. I can't wait to come back on a calmer weekend to enjoy the town.

This is a lovely hotel, particularly when decorated for the holidays. Do not expect modern remodeling or keycards, but you will find a nice comfortable room. The staff (owner?) was very kind, my mother had many requests and they were great about accommodating her. Would be happy to stay again.

I enter the hotel the white lady saw me in the front desk didn't greet me stand there few minutes, she finally spoke to me then I told her I made reservation online oh she said we don't have any rooms available now and didn't check my name in the computer and room will be available in an 1 hour. I just left because she is not nice she has an attitude problem. I got into my car and she call and said I didn't realize you were on the books and she said to come back so I did and there was a lady ahead of me and she was nice to her gave her a room, when she told me no rooms available wow, ok with checking in with her she yell at me no smoking In the room or you will pay a fine ok I know the rules. She gave me a room not picture on the website what I expected with no clean sheets it had so many tiny hair strands. I think she only nice to her kind and working with the public she should treat all people equally

This was a quaint oldish hotel. It was in good repair and looks interesting. I was there on a weekday so everything in the town was dead. No elevators but the rooms were cute. They do have a continental breakfast with bread, condiments, oatmeal packets, fruit, cereal, and yoghurt everyday although apparently they have more available on weekends such as waffles. It is walking distance to all restaurants and the mission. Might be more service on the weekend.

This place is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are nice and cozy with a fire place, double shower head/jacuzzi tubs, mini refrigerator with freezer. Beautiful decor through out. The best thing about this hotel is that it is family owned. I will definitely be returning...

We were fortunate enough to get a room at the “Posada de San Juan” during San Juan Bautista‘s Annual Rib competition 2019. The hotel is beautifully built and decorated with craftsmanship from a bygone era. The rooms were comfortable and clean, little extras amenities like duel- showers heads, deep soaking tubs, a fireplace in our room, balcony seating for our coffee in the morning & a glass of wine in the evening. Their continental breakfast both Saturday and Sunday morning was unexpected & delicious where the staff goes the extra mile adding chopped bacon to the homemade waffle mixture, an absolute treat! We definitely plan to make this an annual tradition.

Very cute fun place. Comfy nice rooms and at least some of the rooms have a double jacuzzi tub which was really nice after a long day! Breakfast is served in the morning and the staff was friendly. Clean and comfy

Wow! What a charming hotel in the beautiful town of San Juan Bautista. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was good and fresh, the rooms were immaculate, and the remodeled rooms were lovely! We loved learning the family history behind this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will go back again! Thank you!

Great hotel. Reading online reviews of the hotel you get the vibe it's a dive. It's not. The staff were accommodating. The hotel is a little outdated but it's fine. It may not be some magnificent hotel but it's very fitting for the town. The area does not have a lot of going on besides the mission and the hotel is very fitting for its surrounding area. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Spa tub in the room was a plus. I truely enjoyed the hotel. It was more than what I expected.

Underwhelmed is putting it mildly. The place has so much potential but the owner's disinterest in customer service was apparent throughout our entire visit. Firstly, the price that we were quoted was not what we ended up paying at all; there are no vending machines in the hotel (or nearby areas) nor a fridge in the room, so one is forced to drink luke-warm tap water, or supplies purchased from earlier in the day. The breakfast buffet, which is only from 7-9am is actually set out sometime the night before and left overnight in the dining area - unrefrigerated!!! Our bathtub had problems with the plug and jet-streams and the lights automatically switch off after 15 minutes - making a dark bathroom and slippery bathtub quite the death trap. They advertise free wifi, but this is only available in dining area as the signal is so weak. I can't think of a single thing about my visit that was satisfactory.

Very dissatisfied. Seem to be playing off the fact, that they are, in all essence, a monopoly in town. We were charged more than a previously agreed upon price. The breakfast was only open from 7-9 am, but there seemed to be no qualms about the food being set out the night before at room temperature. I also wouldn't call it so much a "continental breakfast" as more a "con breakfast". Also no mini-fridge in the room means, you can't really put left-overs from restaurant visits anywhere. Which I can tell you is quite necessary as there isn't a single vending machine, if there was the need for food after hours. Lights in the bathroom switched off automatically after 15 min, which wouldn't be so terrible, if they hadn't designed it so the motion sensor was actually *outside* the bathroom! Even though the bathroom is equipped with a bath tub, the plug didn't sit firmly, so it was necessary to rest my heel on it to keep the water from running out. There was promised wi-fi, but even though our room was one of the closest to the lounge, where I presume the router/hot-spot was, we could still barely receive a signal.I'd like to say find a competitor's place to go to, but seriously: what choice do you have?
