I ordered online so I can’t speak for the store itself, but I ordered a peacock mantis shrimp from them a few weeks ago. They were one of the very few places I could find one. They were competitively priced. I called to double check that they had it in stock, since I’ve been burned before ordering from other places. They were communicative, and very helpful. The animal came in a good amount of water and big bag for its size, and I appreciated that. It arrived healthy and beautiful. It ate from tongs very quickly, and it’s doing just fine. Healthy and greedy.

I was very nervous ordering from a new facility that I found online but let me say, I am glad I found this place. I sent an email asking about a specific fish and they quickly responded back. They have fast shipping, WYSIWYG page which allows you to see the fish you're buying, and most of all, I received all healthy fish. Can't wait to make another order soon.

Violet Aquarium is THE BEST place to buy marine life. I have a 1000 gallon mixed reef tank that has been running for about 5 years now. I have had a lot of experience with ordering from many different online fish stores over the years.Violet Aquarium tops them all. They have Best Prices, largest fish and they regularly carry hard to find livestock. Really Love their WYSIWYG so I know exactly what I am getting. And they stand behind their products and will always work with you. I would not buy anywhere else. I posted some of the fish I have purchased from them recently.

New place that looks like it will be fantastic - much larger inside than you might expect. It's a bit hard to find, so just know it's a bit tricky. Only a few tanks now with some very cool selection; need to have prices and info or better/available customer service, but that may come with time? Really looking forward to seeing those tanks filled and tanks/supplies available to purchase.

This aquarium shop has to be the best saltwater, freshwater, AND reef store in the Bay Area. The front of the store is nice but they have more tanks(towards the back of the shop) where the sign says "employees only". Everyone is welcomed to the "employees only" area. If you have time to kill, you can easily get lost in their massive selections that they update every week! They also ship (which is very convenient). Will be back soon

Live in Michigan. First ever purchase. Came on time, well packaged. Purchased two Green Haddoni Carpet Anemones. Very sticky, which is a great sign of good health. Mouths closed. Waiting for them to open to full size. Advertised as 12 inches. Great price. I'm stoked!!!Placed in my 150 gallon mixed reef tank.

I am in disbelief on how easy, quick and zero hassle ordering and receiving my bamboo shark aka Bruce and panther grouper cross states. I live in Phoenix, Arizona. This was my first ever online purchase. I'll admit I was a bitskeptical at first, never dared buying online. Im not a gambling person lol. Needless to say I am a new life time Violet Aquarium customer. Customer service has been unmatched, very polite and helpful putting all doubts at ease. My fish are perfectly healthy and gorgeous! Drove 10 miles in high traffic to get here before they close at 7, the sign showed “open”. As soon as they saw me park my car, the guy ran inside and turned off the lights. Came out and told me “we close at 7 boss”. I said it’s not 7 yet, but he ignored me.Within a minute everyone got out of the store and locked it. Why run the business when you hate your jobs that much, this store is off my list.

My order included a blue tang, butterfly fish, emperor fish, coral beauty, pink Goni coral frag, & neon green hammer frag. I bought the emperor fish as WYSIWYG and never received as well as they ran out of the hammer coral frag. Took me multiple emails sent to even get a response from them. I was trying to replace the missing fish with ones that are available and even pay the price difference for the new fish. Paul responded back within 1 day about my request and never actually did anything. I was patient and after 4 weeks of no response or resolution of my problem it took another week until I was able to get a refund. Very unprofessional and they will no longer deserve my business.

Violet Aquarium's new location is a solid LFS. They have loads of tanks stocked with most of the corals, fish, and inverts a reefer might be looking for. Even some high-end stuff. Check out my pictures. They also stock common and mid range priced frags which is where I like to stick to. I would say prices are reasonable and comparable to Neptune, except they've got a bit more exotic things in stock like batfish and ribbon eels. I bought a couple feather dusters, a bristle starfish, a cool rock with some green encrusting coral on it and some beautiful happy zoas. Ball and Lele were very helpful and Ball is very knowledgeable. I'm definitely going back.

My pops showed me this place. The place had 2 rooms. As you enter you're bombarded with salt water fish into a larger room with both fresh/salt water 🐟. I got 2 freshwater fish at a reasonable price and the people there seem so chill and they make sure you get the one you have your eyes on. The place is a hole in the Wall so worth the find!!

I can’t say enough how I love this store. All my fish and corals came from them and they are all thriving. I read some reviews that their corals or fish are not healthy but that really depends on how you acclimate them. Anyhow, service, knowledge, and prices are great here, the whole shabang. Owner Madhu is super knowledgeable about his fish, while Paul is your man when you have questions about corals. This man is a walking encyclopedia for corals. Both of them are great anyway!!I also heard in the great vines that they are moving to a bigger place and I cannot wait. If I could spend all day just to chill, observe, and converse with the employees here I would. They are such accomodating people. Oh not to mention, they always have sales going on so wait for those emails!I always feel welcome when I visit this store whether you are buying or not. They will also give you tips and share their knowledge if you are having trouble with your tank. If you are looking for a rare fish or coral, this is where you find it.Here is a pic of my tank. Top Tropical Fish store I have been too! Very healthy fish and great selection. It’s nice to come to a fish store and not see sick fish everywhere this place really takes care of their fish and reef. My fish have all been healthy from here. Will be back for more

Experience started a little rough with some out of stock items and miscommunication, but Violet Aquarium made everything right. Was very happy with the health of the fish and they make sure everything is packaged very well for shipping.

This place stinks - literally. The fish tank foul smell was pretty bad and the tanks were so overstocked the fish were pushing each other out the way to swim.For freshwater, all they had was glofish and some melted plants. For saltwater, they had some interesting species but the overcrowding in tanks was a turn off.Those feels like a shipping operation than a store front.

My husband and I recently got into this hobby. We visited many aquarium stores in the Bay Area, but none compare to the customer service, expertise and wonderful wildlife found at Violet Sea Fish and Coral. Madhu and Paul are very personable and reasonable with their prices. They have provided many tips for us to continue the care of our 32 gl tank. They have a 48 hour warranty that helps keep their customers at ease. We appreciate VSFC and will be coming back!

I don’t write many reviews but if you want saltwater fish, this is the place to go!! They have fish I’ve only seen in videos and their prices are great! They are building coral frag tanks so the selection there isn’t huge yet, but it is going to grow exponentially over the coming months. Small place but amazing selection and diversity.

WARNING WARNING WARNING Terrible experience first order I bought the What you see what you get fish and that is not the fish they sent and both fish were all beat up looked very sad to see them that way then I ordered coral and the most expensive coral I bought they sent me two of the cheap ones I ordered they are very shady buyers be aware terrible customer service the owner Paul called and threatened me that I would no longer be able to buy if I don’t remove my review and called me cheap terrible company will be contacting the better business bureau I tried to work with them but they don’t work with you he sent me a 30 dollar coral for free to make up for my 60 dollar fish that was not the correct fish please be aware buyers and they took forever shipping kept using excuses why it was not shipped yet first they said ups is down I told them just received a order from someone else then they said there label machine was down please buy from a more reputable buyer and you will get what you paid for

Not many online sellers are good. I have purchased from few but i like violet aquarium better since they have good variety of fish to choose from, good customer service, reasonable shipping cost, and healthy fish.So far i had three orders and all of them were success. Fish eats pellet food and frozen food.

They moved to a bigger place here. Staff is knowledgeable, and there’s a wide selection of saltwater fish. They are still building out the site, and I’m confident to say that soon they’ll be the largest saltwater aquarium in South Bay.

My family and I stopped by here after going to the Winchester Mystery house which is pretty close by. Be warned, this place is pretty hard to find, it’s way at the back of a commercial property in a residential area so trust your GPS. The showroom is no-frills but it doesn’t need to be, it’s all about the livestock and they guy who seemed to be the owner was friendly and has a bunch of cool fish and corals. I picked up a pink-tipped purple torch and some really nice Florida Ricordea all at a fair price. If you’re in the area or anywhere in Nor Cal and willing to make a day trip, there’s lots to do in the area and this place is definitely worth checking out.
