I've been a dog trainer for 6 years, previously working at a boarding/daycare facility with a grooming salon. I've never witnessed such an awful groom and extreme post stress from It. Apollo is a service dog in training and has been my client for months, with his owners maintaining his appearance well. I know they comb him twice a day, as confirmed during a groom check-in two days ago. In this groom check in I personally combed him without struggle. I also was aware of his ear infection and owners were actively treating It. Since the groom he is shaking his head 5x more. Today's training plan was adjusted due to his stress, likely requiring additional sessions to rebuild his grooming confidence. As a young service dog in training, this experience will have a negative impact. I'm surprised that a refund wasn't immediately offered for the hack job poor Apollo received. If a client's needs exceed your current skill set, it's advisable to redirect them to someone better skilled for the groom.Picture 1 was from his previous groom. Such an amazing place!! They were able to fit my dog in for an appointment within 2 days and the stylist there was so patient! She really took the time to listen to my concerns and what I wanted for my dog. He came back so soft and fluffy and well groomed!! Really happy with the services and will be going back again :))

I have a difficult dog who in the past has had a bite history, and I have had an extremely difficult time finding a good place to get him groomed that will work with me. This place was lovely. I came from Redwood City to try to get my dog groomed here and they did a great job.He kept the muzzle on, so I just trimmed his face a bit when I got him home, but he is clean and happy and he looks so so handsome.**Highly recommend if you have a dog, who’s difficult like mine or have had issues finding a good groomer in the past.

Everyone here is so amazing, my cattle dog doesn’t like her nails trimmed or ears cleaned and plucked but here it was a little to no issues for them to do so. Idk what it is but they made it so easy n simply I was impressed and amazed she came out with lil to no issues for them all. John and Blanca have such ways with dogs you’d be surprised to how much your dog will be willing to listen and let alone feel comfortable around them as I was with mines. It was her first time going to any dog grooming and it was as she has been here before. I’d definitely be coming again for those services and let alone the environment and atmosphere was quick and hassle free and worry free. Recommend for any dog owner from small Chihuahuas to big dogs as we seen Burmese mountain dog.

I have tried really hard to like this place. I have them another try after two adequate experiences over a span of two years. I thought it was strange when I picked up my dog from a bath and trim. He wasn't excited to see me and he seem to scratching his right eye a bit. It wasn't until few hours later I realized his right eye was red, hard to see masked under his black fur. I tipped over 20% to only have to try to bring my dog to a vet now.

This is a long review but the tl;dr version/bottom line is that Ken is amazing and you should definitely bring your pets here for quality service.I've brought my senior dog, Zoë, here since I first got her in 2016, and in these three years the service has consistently been outstanding. With all the horrible stories about groomers mistreating pets at the big stores like PetSmart and PetCo, I was anxious about taking my girl to any groomer. However, she would always fight me when I tried to brush my teeth or clip her nails, so I had to find a professional. I made an appointment at the Dog Pawlor, did the basic new client routine of filling out forms, and left my dog in their care. Ken took such great care of Zoë that we now bring her by just about every month. The quality of pet care, attention to detail, price, and customer service are incomparable. If you want your dog groomed in a safe and caring environment, the Dog Pawlor is the place to go.Sidenote: I've included pics of Zoë wearing the complimentary bandanas they gave her for different occasions whenever I bring her by near certain holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas).

Didn't get the haircut we wanted. Said it was because of matting, although my wife brushes our dog every day. They did take care of our pup otherwise. He came out a little spooked, but that seems par for the course. I liked their customer service, Aside from electing to completely shave him when I asked for a trim. And it took 4 hours over the 3 hours projected. All to shave him? Couldn't that have been done in about 30 minutes. No finesse required. Shower... +30...+

Ok, I have been coming here for both of my dogs for a couple of years now but recently it has become very frustrating.1. Every time I call, I have to be on hold for a long time because they are assisting other customers, and every time I am there to pick up my babies, I have to wait because they are assisting people on the call!!!! They are resistant to hire more people! You clearly are extremely busy and your old school phone appointments don’t work these days. You either need more people or just like other businesses, purchase an application where people can go online and book appointments without the need to call and wait every time. (Look at kitchen nail spa appointment app for example)2. They don’t support apple pay or any other electronic payment. All stores, supermarkets, 7/11, everywhere, Apple pay works but not here. Again why sticking to old school business running?3. The pricing model is not transparent or clear. There is mo menu on the wall so that I know how much I should pay every time. What are the packages for small, medium large dogs? Why should we pay extra for every thing separately? There should be a package for cleaning that includes everything.4. They don’t do a good job in nails. My dogs nails are still sharp and scratchy even after the grooming. Maybe filing is needed but it happens every time.5. Not a good job at toothbrush and cleaning of the mouth. The mouth is still stinky.Grooming is really good, bath and brush is very professional. I wish they take care of those little stuff.

Really love the care and detail these folks provide for my dog Dash. In particular I love the extra details, like the Sharks banda they added during the hockey playoffs. I have regular appoints scheduled for Dash and would rate them a 6 if possible!

I am so happy I found Dog Pawlor 1 year ago! My Standard poodle, Freddie is being treated very well here. Can you believe he gets excited when we enter Dog Pawlor? The grooming is so pretty he always looks so fresh, and smell so good. I am so happy with their amazing service! Thank you Dog Pawlor!One feedback: Every time I get a different price lol with the same services. I don't know the reason maybe next time I have to ask. Maybe different groomers have different rates? Anyways, doesn't matter to me much but I love them in general.

Great Customer Service! My Wire Fox Terrier looked so terrific! She can be a bit of a handful but the staff seemed good with her. Ken always comes out to talk to us seems so knowledgeable. He did a wonderful job. I've booked a 3rd visit and look forward to seeing the staff again.

I've been taking my nervous chihuahua here for the past year and a half, and I couldn't be more satisfied. She is so wiggly when I try to clip her nails, and it's too stressful of an experience for me. The friendly, animal-loving staff at The Dog Pawlor work their magic and have her trimmed in less than 5 minutes. I don't know how they do it (okay, maybe it helps that they're trained professionals hahaha), but it is totally worth the $20. Very grateful for and happy to support this business 🙏🏼🐶

We took our very reactive dog Zuko to The Dog Pawlor recently. He's a rescue and very anxious around strange people and dogs. We have tried keeping up with his grooming ourselves but his nails were getting out of hand as he absolutely would not let me anywhere near him with the nail trimming tools.I made an appointment and let them know he would be aggressive. Zuko was groomed by Michelle and I am extremely satisfied with her work. She was so understanding and was very patient in caring for Zuko. She was able to give him the full treatment: bath, grooming and nail trim.I was anxious about this appointment the whole week leading up to it but Michelle and the staff at the Dog Pawlor went above and beyond to keep me assured that Zuko was in good hands.Highly recommend!

It was my first time taking our dog to the Dog Pawlor and they did not disappoint. We've got a very high energy 4lb Pom/Yorkie, who hates blow dryers. Rafael worked on her and did a great job. Unlike other local groomers, they're quick with appointments. One time I called and was taken that same day! They know how long each appointment will take, but still call when doggie is done. Plus, they perform an excellent job consistently. Which matters as, my old pup is fussy, yet they never have an issue. Finally, their pricing is more than competitive, it's cheaper that most. This spot is a true gem. So, even though it's a half hr drive for me, I'll go no where else. They're worth it.Tl;dr Treat yourself and your pup to a wonderful experience, go to The Dog Pawlor.

My dog is scarred from having her nails clipped too deep the last two times I took her to another groomer. This place only uses Dremel for black nails, which made things quick and easy. I'm grateful for the great service and would recommend this place to anyone who has a dog with anxiety. Just give them a heads up beforehand. :-)

I took my dog here for the first time and they did an awesome job!! I was greeted by the cutest tiny dog apparently named Suki who belongs to one of the people there. They did a great job with listening to what I wanted and they didn't disappoint! I'm so happy with my dog's haircut and groom. We will definitely be back again!

Wow, this place is great! We have lived in the bay area and really struggled to find a place for our Wheaten terrier to get a quality haircut. I am happy to say that we found our place now with Ken! Ken met with me before our appointment and was happy to look at photos I brought and discuss what I was looking for. We don't go with the traditional wheaten cut and Ken was very good about figuring out the look we were going for. Our wheaten, Beckham, was brought out looking great and with a red bow on his collar! I highly recommend this place!

3 different Petco could not handle my nervous yorkie puppy to trim her nails. They told me I have to take her to a vet. I called the vet and several references later, I called The Dog Pawlor. Ken the owner took her in and her nails were done in 3 MINUTES! And she was CALM when she came back to me! Ken was terrific!!!!!

I have been coming to The Dog Pawlor since its opening. Let's just say that my dog isn't the easiest when it comes to grooming given his behavior. Yet the owner, Ken, worked hard to figure out a gentle and considerate way to groom him. He was patient and worked with us to come up with a plan to make my dog's visit as smooth as possible. Ken's approach is a sign of his character and love for dogs. Even though my dog can be a bit temperamental, Ken has always greeted him and I with great respect. Plus, my dog always comes away looking great! I can't recommend Ken and The Dog Pawlor more.

Ken did a great job with my dog's haircut!Prices were reasonable and he only had my dog for a few hours, whereas at other shops they kept him for the whole day. My dog was very happy and I feel that I can trust the staff.

The groomers are detailed oriented and super sweet to my dog. My dog has thin hair and not the easiest to groom. He's on the small side under 10 lbs. We have been completely satisfied with all of his haircuts.

Please stay away if you care about your pets. They forgot about my dog and left him in the cage while I was calling and trying to check on the status. After I finally decided to go in because they never called me back, they looked confused and didn't realize that my dog was sitting in a cage and they failed to call me. This place is absolutely negligent when it comes to taking care of animals.

My dog requires regular monthly grooming and I am very happy to have discovered Ken's. Jena does a fantastic job keeping Pepper looking great. I appreciate the kind, thoughtful and caring attention she receives from the staff. Highly recommended.
