Very clean and well stocked. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, fresh produce and meats, and much more. Can't wait to go back! UPDATE - Came back a few days later and just as pleased as my first trip. Found everything I needed - chips, cheese and other items for tonight's dinner. Staff is super friendly and helpful as last time. Will definitely keep coming back!

I shop here about every two weeks employees are friendly and helpful but sometimes they see maybe a little overworked. Always good deals in the meat department and decent quality. Good produce too.

Been a long long time since I’ve been to this Smart and final. As I walked in I noticed that the store looks really nice inside “I didn’t remember it being so big” and has a wide selection of food and drink. I picked up two 3lb containers of Deviled egg potato salad “so good”, value pack of water bottles and a value pack of plastic cups.I was able to talk to 2 employees, both of them were nice. I’m definitely going to visit this store more often.

Everything is better here than the past couple of years. Shout out to the guys in produce, Greg and Uribe. They're a breathe of fresh air. So helpful and friendly. Good job on the positive changes. Keep up the good work!

We live right by this location so when we need something quickly we just run here instead of safeway/costco. My husband always says "damn I suck at picking fruit" because more than once he has come home with moldy fruit. Last night I went into smart & Final to grab some fruit quickly for my sons breakfast/lunch for tomorrow and every single blackberry case I picked up had A LOT of mold in it. These were all of the organic ones that were in the wet case where they get misted so I assumed that was the issue and I found blackberries in a dry area with the rest of the fruit that was fine. After that I went to grab myself a thing of prosciutto as a snack and multiple packages of them had a lot of mold also.. after that I grabbed only non perishables and checked all of the dates on the items as this skeeved me out. I told the cashier about it and he seemed honestly mortified by this. Sucks because it is super close by, but we probably will not shop here anymore for the risk of feeding our young son something spoiled.

You'd think I would learn. I gave the store one star several years ago. Went back today to find something specific I knew they had. I signed up for their savings program. I bought a couple items that were supposed to be 50% off with a digital coupon. Gave the checker my number and of COURSE it didn't come up. People in line behind me were not happy so I said forget it and paid the regular price. Not a big dollar amount lost but still annoys the heck out of me. I doubt I'll be back. Their prices are no longer that good anyway.

Smart & Final (Hillsdale) is always a very positive shopping experience especially after 7pm. The only negative... They have limited supply of that delicious roasted chicken. Also wish they had a soup n salad bar.

Store seems well stocked. But expect a wait when checking out. Prices seem low here and there, but mostly seem higher than other stores. Also not sure as to why, but recently, the store was like an igloo. Definitely needed a parka.Parking is good. Wheel chair access.

We went looking for serveware for a shower. Looked at prices on select food items that we shop for at various other stores. Interesting to see Nature Valley granola bars three dollars cheaper than Costco while other items were competitively priced or even higher than other grocery stores. Quite a range of price differences.

I enjoy shopping at my local Smart & Final, I find great prices on their meat, & produce.But I don't care for some unpleasant women employees there.Their snappiness make me uncomfortable, however the guys there are great!

A male employee tried to physically block me coming in, because it was 5min before closing. I had to get uncomfortably close to him, but I managed to get in around him. Then a manager tried to tell me it was 10 (it was 9:55) so I showed her the time, which just made her angrier. I said I just needed to use the bathroom real quick and she told me to hurry. There was such vitriol and animosity, when I saw her at the door when I was leaving (at 10 like I promised), I apologized and said I didn't mean for there to be any anger, I love this store and come here all the time. To which she promptly answered, "You come here all the time, then you know we close at 9:55 so I can close out the registers by 10." To which I said "Yeah but I wasn't buying anything, I just needed to use the bathroom." She knew I was right and she was wrong so she just mumbled something else angrily before making a show of locking the door right behind me. Classy manager!

Great store. Good prices. They have some hard to find items also. I wish it was cleaner, but it is much better than most older grocery stores.

Shopping was good, they had everything I needed bu t the cashier acted like he was hung over it stayed up too late playing video games. He wasn't friendly or interactive and on the verge of being really rude. On the plus side, I've been here many times and the majority cashier's are very friendly. This particular cashier must have been having a bad day but he shouldn't take it out on the customers.

They have improved on quality of products. The fresh veggies are amazing. The checker gets an 'F" for his behavior and entitled attitude. Accused me of stealing a bottle of crystal geyser, which goes with me everywhere, and in my cart I had 3 35 pack cases. I was highly embarrassed by his attitude. If it were my son? I would have slapped him.

Even though this store is a bit older than my regular neighborhood Smart & Final, it is more spacious with with the same selection of goods. Like my neighborhood store this one has the same friendly and accommodating staff. Check out their weekly flyers and price reduced meat selections for greater cost savings.

I think the people are the best here, so friendly and helpful. One of their managers, Janelle, is terrific. She works the check out and when they get busy she opens a register to help. Their prices are very competitive and their produce seems to be always fresh. Their own brand " First Street" is excellent also. It's worth you while to try it. JWD

I shop here once a week as it is my local store. It is a well managed and the staff are great! They have excellent produce and other goods.I don’t usually take time to write reviews, these kind folks have expertly navigated through stormy COVID-19 waters with great care. I’m grateful for them and all they do to take care of the neighborhood and my family.

Had all the stuff I needed. The missing high rating is because two employees were not practicing social distancing at all. One in the produce aisle and another in the meat area walked too close about three feet of me. I was surprised to see many employees not wearing any face coverings. This is not only to protect customers but yourself be careful. I’ll have to shop someplace else from now on.

The store is well-stocked, clean and friendly.You can find groceries and dry goods for great and inexpensive prices.We find items that aren't carried at Costco, which helps us round out our grocery runs. We typically go once or twice a month depending on our needs.

This is a wonderful atmosphere and values galore! Not pretentious nor fussy displays...just nice folks serving my needs, week after week with limited inventory choices. No butcher counter, but lots of fresh meats.

I love Smart & Final.I've been shopping at my local store for years, they have most of what I need, and at great prices.At my local store they have $5 sushi to compete with Safeway's 5$ Fridays, which is not to be missed!!!I love their freshly made spicy sushi, & California rolls!

West Gate Smart & Final seems bigger and cleaner than the Hillsdale S & F. Both stores have friendly staff that are helpful. Great place to get snacks and supplies for small party.

store mgr(broken english) refuses loads if he doesn't like the truckers letting him now protocol. WHICH means YOU the customer won't be able to buy the products u come in for. Manager needs to TOUGHEN up of he s gonna be dealing w truckers.Day b4 easter and this guy refuses a load. Good luck buying what u needEDIT...hr later my company calls to have me return so they can unload pallets. S&F corporate had to get involved. The LOAD is more important than a managers pride!!!!

Meat bought on 12/7 brought home and put in the freezer. I took it out today 12/8 to make for dinner. The smell was horrible. I called the store to tell them and to find out what steps to take to get refunded for the purchase. Per Roxanne bring it back with the receipt, I have to have the receipt and was it a sale item? When I told her I could not come today she said put in back in the freezer, also asked did I cook it? Then bring it WITH the receipt and we will credit the purchase.WHAT!!!Needless to say, I'm done with Smart and Final this is the second time dealing with such a problem.It was more her attitude and she's talking to someone else as she's talking to me to show me she could care less about what I was saying
