Stay away from this location while person with name Virginia works there! She refused to accept my Canadian driver license, when i tried to buy a bottle of wine, which is valid in US for 6 months and valid for police. I shop here for 5 months.... not anymore There are plenty of shops here. You just lost family of 5 from your customer list. Say thanks to Virginia.Details: When i asked Virginia to call the store manager or check with the Safeway main office fhe validity of Canadia DL, since i've been purchasing alc goods in US and in this particular store for 5 months, she said at loud, so all customers and employees heard, that she decides here who will buy and who won't. As well i've been told that I can talk to whoever i want to, she is the one who makes decisions.Which highly unhealthy for this SW location internal environment (bad example for her colleagues), neither as for customers and me personally.The fact that it've been said at loud in front of other people and no attempt to help me (btw, I was the loyal costemer for 5 months, as well as my 3 kids and husband) from Virginia side, made me injured and feeling unwell till now. Yesterday, instead of having a nice dinner with my family, situation made me to drive to another store in bad weather condition, after 10 hours of work and feeling mentally injured, that endangered my health.Feel discriminated based on personal preferences.... shame. What are branch manager and the main office doing??!!I request in person meeting with the store manager and Virginia to get explanations.P.S. i got a phone call from the store manager. Virginia was let go. This is all i needed to know. Thank you!

Ah, Safeway disappoints yet again.Beware the meat aisle- I have purchased raw meat from here twice, and both times the meat is bad. Once is fine, twice is.. not okay. The meat has a sticker that says 100% guaranteed, and yet it doesn’t say what is guaranteed. I mean, that’s a 100% spoil rate, so it’s not technically wrong.I opened the packages a few minutes after purchase, so it’s not like they had time to go bad in the interval between purchase and opening. The sell by date says it should be okay to sell for another 3 days or so, at least. The first time it was ground beef, the second time it was lamb. I think I’m done buying raw meat here, and I’d recommend everyone else to avoid it as well.The customer service representative did allow me to return the meat both times, but the extra trip is time and gas money I will never get back.To give Safeway a little credit, I don’t usually have issues with the other stuff I purchase, and this location is quite convenient.I haven’t opened the oysters I bought from here yet, and now I’m a bit afraid to cook them tonight. Given Safeway’s track record, I’m not feeling hopeful. I hope this is not strike three. Wish me luck, folks.

I'm through with their app & will do as much shopping at other stores as possible. They never deliver the whole order, don't tell you until the order shows up & I've caught them charging for things that weren't ordered. I've been a loyal safeway shoppers any other places I've lived or visited. This has happened every time using the app in San Jose.

Fantastic local store, get the membership as more expensive without it, good quality produce, top notch bakery and sushi shop, lots of regular groceries from yogurt and meat to fresh oysters, well stocked frozen aisle as well. And helpful staff, good hours. Highly recommend it

Small aisles but conveniently close to home. Has great employees! Always makes your day better after a long day. Sanitized carts and clean areas. Safeway always has the deals too. Great selection for meat too. Never seen a tomahawk steak here before but there it be. Come get it! Just took that pic today 4/9

I really like this Safeway, not only for the convenient location, but also for the cleanliness and quality of produce. The staff are friendly and helpful. I love the floral section and the flowers always have a fair price. The parking is plenty. The one thing I do not like is that there are never enough checkout stands open. The wait is excruciating. Every time I give up going to this store it has been because of the waiting period- I vow not to come back and only do because I forget!

This store is very neat and always is packed with all the varieties of the groceries needed. The staff is knowledgeable and nice. Restrooms are clean. I love how few people (customers) are here in the middle of the day!

Very unfortunately bad service. We arrived at about 6:50pm to get sliced ham, only to be told by the worker that they are closed, but when we looked at the sign it showed the deli as open from 6am to 8pm. We asked customer service, and their response, was literally "huh, we need to take down that sign" instead of any sort of offer to accommodate the inconvenience

Today I was working shopping for my clients and I did not have the energy for Ms. Linda’s attitude. I come to the counter to rind my items up at 5:45 am. I wait in line being the only person in line and Ms. Linda completely ignores me as she is cleaning off her counter top. I try to help her by moving the bar out the way. She said I had it there for a reason and snatched it out my hand. So I kindly pack my items off the counter and walk towards self check out. Linda then grabs my cart and says she’s the only one one. Then I respond that I don’t want ti have to deal with her terrible service. Linda proceeds to apologize and at this point I only want to deal with a supervisor. It’s to early for the bad attitude.

I’m really surprised how empty the shelves are especially in the meat section there’s really nothing when it comes to steaks very few options. Very few selection placed out there plenty of chicken a few pork chop cuts, but definitely lacking in the beef side overall store layout a little awkward like every Safeway is, their rewards program I have to say is the worse their app is just ridiculous. They make it so hard to use it there’s really no savings you you have to jump through loops to redeem a one dollar coupon or pretty disappointing I prefer my big box stores, my Costco‘s there you really make it easy for you to get the best prices, lotta empty shelves even on the pasta sauces there’s like a shortage of supplies, hard and harder to get stuff

This safeway locations keeps expired products on the shelf. I purchased Open Nature sesame cracker and as soon as I tasted it after opening in the car it felt so stale that I had to check the best buy date for the first time and there it was 3 months expired since Feb 2023. I talked to checkout cashier about this and she asked me if I wanted a refund or replacement so I went to check for a replacement and surprisingly I found more expired products of same type.

Open late. Decent discount on gas the more you use your membership for groceries. They deliver food to your house if you want. Jim in the meat dept. is the greatest guy in the world. Apparently homeless people can steal all they want no repercussions.

I always shop at this store and one other close one, but the customer service here is excellent! I had forgotten to use my number to get the discounts and said "Ah man!" And the lady working the self checkout stands heard me and asked what was wrong and I told her. She refunded me the amount I would have saved if I had put my number in. That was so nice! The people are always friendly, but I really appreciated this above and beyond customer service!

Went in to buy some prepared food since we are on the road. Was eating it in the parking lot in my car and got told I was lingering and told to go away. I just wanted to eat before I started my drive again...Edit: it closes at 2 am. And we were told at 12:40 am.

I don’t know from where to start. We ordered two custom cake for our two daughter’s birthday from a lady who be there in the cake making section. At taking the time of order she was so sweet. In the celebration day when our friends went to pick the cakes it was not ready and that lady was also not there. We showed the receipt but nobody could say anything. Unfortunately our friends had to just grab two random cakes. I literally cried as I ordered layers cakes with the birthday theme. Then I decided to talk to the lady sometimes later and when after some days we went to talk her she recognized us and she became so rude she was almost treating us like animals. She just didn’t want to hear anything from us. By that time the manager came and heard everything from us and apologized which we expected from the lady. I just wanted to tell her that don’t do it ever with anyone else. It broke my heart seeing somebody who already did such a huge mistake and not even a bit sorry for it. Still I gave 3 star because of the manager’s behavior. But whenever you are going to order cake from this safeway beware of the rude lady as she changes her behaviors so quickly.

Honestly I've had mostly good interactions at this place. There are three moments that stand out and one policy that might be company wide but was just the pits. I had a ringer with extremely long acrylic nails poke a hole in my bag of frozen peas as she was ringing them up and told me to go get another one the way she said it made it sound like she could not be bothered and that I had purchased a faulty bag.The other was a time I purchased something from their clearance section and asked if it had rung up as on sale (the item was torn and had packaging tape on it) she said no because it didn't have a sticker and sometimes customers just drop items on the clearance rack and when I showed her the packaging tape she said their was nothing she could do and ended the transaction.The last was a younger kid who felt like he was taking the rules a little too seriously, they had just incorporated the direction aisles for social distancing and it was the end of the night and he (based on his voice) had just announced the store would be closing in 10 minutes. I had picked out my final item and was about to make my way to the register (I was in the front 1/5 of the aisle) I turn to head to the register (against the new directional sticker) and he stops me as he walks by to tell me to go back to the rear of the store and use a different directional aisle to approach the front of the store. I get that rules are rules but there had to be maybe 6-7 customers in the store at that moment and he and I were the only ones in that area. In fact if he hadn't stopped to redirect me we would have been 10 feet apart and social distancing wouldn't have been a problem but him stopping and reprimanding my misstep caused us to be physically closer than if he had gone on his way. I get that I was in the wring, but just know the context it's the end of the night and I'm trying to finish up before they close, just chill man.Finally most of the time the customer service desk is unmanned and after requests to a cashier and once to the florist I had to wait 43 minutes to have someone process my return (I had over bought for some baking I was doing with my kids). That could be a staffing issue or a policy it just made me feel invisible and a waste of my lunch break.I've had great interactions there too and I continue to go here but those three employee interactions have been within the last three months. I can appreciate the stress brought on by being an essential worker but it kinda rubbed me wrong.

Updated Review. Over the last year plus, this store has hired quite a few new cashiers and other employees. Combined with the self checkout, the lines have shrunk significantly and service has improved significantly. The employees seem happier and friendlier.

An old Chinese lady at cashier area is extremely rude. I believe she has been working there for long time and always rude. This morning, one of my just for you items didn’t go through and I showed her the item description through my iPhone. She suddenly grabbed my phone and touched and opened to see my personal account information. I told her don’t touch my phone.She gave me back but it was totally disgusting besides she didn’t know how to handle the problem item.
