Vincent was the only good groomer here but he has recently left . I took my dog Roxy (who was a senior dog) for years and while she hated grooming, she loved Vincent. Unfortunately Roxy passed away last year after getting one last Halloween groom from Vincent(Vincent if you ever see this please reach out).My 1 star review is for the awful customer service on the phone. I called to ask about Vincent, not knowing he left prior and while trying to tell the lady on the phone that I was reaching out because he use to groom Roxy and Roxy passed away, I get cut off. I get your busy, but have some respect for the people you’re talking to to not cut them off ??? Disrespectful.

First of all, my dog is a 6lbs toy poodle. According to their website, any dog under 10lbs should be considered XS. When I arrived to pick up my dog, the grooming manager insisted that he's a medium-sized dog and charged me for a 25-50lbs dog.Next, they clearly did not care enough to even his fur out. You can see in the photo attached, his neck hair is all over the place. After we got home it took me 5 seconds to cut that off...how hard is that??They also somehow messed up his head...he’s a poodle so he’s not supposed to have this “middle part” that they gave him. Their groomers are definitely not trained to groom according to breed standards as they claim to be. In addition to that, they clearly did not brush him out before drying or even bothered to brush at all (just look at his tail). I’m also attaching a photo of my clothes after I picked him up...he’s a non-shedding dog so they either did not clean up his hair after the groom, or he was left in an unsanitary crate.When I called to express my dissatisfaction, the grooming salon manager was extremely unprofessional and did not even apologize for the negative experience. Moreover, she blamed my dog for all the aforementioned issues.Overall I'm appalled by their lack of skill, care, and professionalism. They clearly do not care about their customers (or their dogs), and it's evident that they're just clocking in their hours. I hope this review saves at least one pup from a horrendous experience at Petco grooming.

Stay away. Our dog looked FAR better before the grooming service than after. Uneven tufts of hair all over, whiskers cut super short, cut so short on rear that they nicked him which caused irritation.

What a horrible first experience! My husband and I are first time Dog parents and are super bonded with our 5 month old puppy. We rescued her about a month ago and decided we should take her to our local Petco to get her nails trimmed and showered. The check in was okay, our Dog's groomer (Vincent T.) told us it would be about an hour. When my husband went to pick her up, he paid and left. When she got into our car I noticed she was crying a lot, to the point where her face was super wet under her eyes. Since we are new to this we assumed it was because she was missing us but it seemed to be more. We ran a couple errands with our pup in the back seat still crying. When we got home, we tried to console her and give her lots of love. We picked her up and noticed her carpal pad was cut on both sides. We were super upset and felt horrible for taking her there. We called Petco and they said to call tomorrow as the grooming department was closed. When we called the next day, (not to get anything but to make sure this doesn't happen to any other dog) we spoke to the grooming department's manager Bianca. She was very dismissive and said that there is NO way that the groomer (Vincent T.) cut our puppy since he has 6 years of experience. She told us there is nothing she can do. We will obviously not be taking our puppy to Petco Grooming anymore. I'm beyond disappointed as we just wanted to ensure the groomer was aware and that this does not happen again. PLEASE do not take your dogs there.

There are two reasons why I was not happy with this service, with one weighing more than the other. The biggest reason I am upset is that I told them explicitly that my pet had arthritis and they should take care, but when I got him back he has been limping and barely walking. It is obvious that they must have put too much force on him and hurt him in the process. I have had him groomed before with others who I have told that he has arthritis and they did not hurt him. The lesser reason I was upset was that although they told me that they would have to shave him because he had matting (which I understand why and agree with), I did not realize that they would shave his entire body and not just the matted portions. The groomer did warn me about the shaving and explained why but I didn't understand that they meant his entire body. This one was on me though, because I should have followed up to understand what the groomer meant.

When I went to pick up my dog, i was told that my dog was not able to come back to any Petco because she was nervous on the table and is old. My dog is 14 and has gone there all her life. They even said that she was very sweet and she has never displayed any aggression to anyone ever so I am sure they were not in danger of being bitten. It is true that she is nervous to go to the groomer and she shakes but that has been all her life. Don't know how they can say that a dog who has been there her whole life who doesn't shed is now banned from going to any Petco for grooming. Then the cashier had the nerve to ask me if I would tip the groomer.

What a sad sad place to get a dog groomed - avoid at all costs. From the dated facilities, dripping with the patina of poorly groomed dogs past, to the simple equipment which doesn’t look like it it’s been properly cleaned in ages, there is nothing about this location to recommend it when there are so many local small businesses around to support for the same price or better.My dog is a rescued street dog who was shot in the face and has a healed scar on her face from surgery 4 years ago. The groomer Bianca thought it was an open wound, even after I explained to her that it was a surgery scar that has been healed for 4 years and examined by customs, the USDA, and 3 vets. She lied to my face that it’s company policy to not be able to groom any dog with any form of perceived perforation in the face, and when I asked for the exact wording of the policy, she blatantly lied to my face that it was confidential and not be able to be shared. (I called corporate after and they informed me there was no such company policy.)The manager Richard is also the most condescending and dismissive store manager I’ve ever interacted with.Even if the price is comparably slightly cheaper than other places nearby, it’s worth it to spend a little more (and support a local business while you’re at it!). We booked at Lush Spaw down the road, which after the first time discount was even cheaper than Petco’s price. I explained to Lush Spaw upfront about my dog’s scar, and they were super understanding and compassionate about her situation, so lesson learned - book with actual humans at small businesses over big box corporates that hire provincial soulless managers and employees who lie to get out of an uncomfortable situation.Update: From Yelp reviews, it seems Bianca has refused multiple dogs on site for as egregious faults as, “had elevated kidney enzymes once” and “takes hemp supplements” and “barked once at a stranger at entrance.” Lol. So please do come here if you want to play the lottery with your time and see what other reasons Bianca makes up to avoid doing her job and refuse you service, hiding behind the guise of fake company policies.

Very very very bad service. It takes them 4+ hours to groom my 4lbs doggy. For sure, most of the time, they kept my dog in the small cage. They cut the hair from ~1inch to 1/4 inch, but charge me the fee for long hair cut. After the cut, my baby became the most ugly in his history ever. It’s even worse look than that before his cut. What’s more, the hair around his eyes run directly into his eyes every now and then after the cut. My baby has been crying all the time. I will never ever visit again. I don’t want my dog to suffering 4+ hours again for a such bad experience.

I gave the manager of the grooming dept a picture of how I wanted my dogs hair cut. Second time. They did not cut their hair how I wanted it . The poor groomer Travis that cut pee wees hair called and asked me how I wanted it cut. I told him I gave the picture to the girl in charge he said she left for the day, never gave her the picture and left the store. I think her name is Bridget or ? Starts with a B I will find out because this is the second time my dogs went in and I was not satisfied. I had panda in there I checked her before I dropped her off they called and said her leg was matted. So they skinned her hair all off. Didn't even try to give her hair a cut like she had when I brought her in. I asked the manager to cut her follow her present cut. I don't believe that she was matted. They just were lazy. She is s maltipoo with the soft straight hair. She never gets matted, never for the 5 years I had her. Last visit they said they had to shave I call skin pee wees hair because he was matted. I showed up because I told them not to skin him, he wasn't skinned as bad as panda was but he had no mustache band didn't even cut his hair the way I showed them. Both times I came in with a picture in which they took the picture with their cell phone. i know alot of people that go in Petco for there dogs haircut. I'm going to pass on taking them there for awhile. I'm done with that Petco . The manager did not even bother to try to accommodate. John

Our little dog was black listed from the groom shop because he stress pee last time he was there. Get a grip Petco. Used damn towel. Maybe the lady groomer should find another job if she can not handle a dog pee.
