At first the fish selection didn't look good but we found more choices & found a very colorful dwarf gourami & finally found a female turquoise rainbow we believe. The guy who helped us was very knowledgeable & gave us great advice on a better way to acclimate fish! Both fish we bought are doing well!

Jocelyn at this location was such an amazing help! We were deciding on a new hamster and temperament was important for us. She was patient with us and helped by using her hand to check which hamster was more friendly. We took home our little guy and hes been so great with us! Thank you so much!

We've had many enjoyable visits there and got many fish and things for my cats! Although we might've bought a sick fish cause after we got it, all our fish except 5 died.😣😢😢

The employee was super helpful and knowledgable as always. The store was out of stock of one of items that I came to buy....kitten replacement milk.....in fact almost every product in that section was out of stock. The only choice available was a $45 tub of powder mixture which was too expensive for me to try as a first choice.

The grooming manager Bianca turned down my dog twice unless I let her shave the dog completely using matting as the excuse. Both times, I brought my dog to different petco groomers and they washed her no problem and my dog came back no matting and not shaved. I am not sure what standard Bianca uses to decide matting but it is beyond my understanding. I brush my dog every day or two and I have all the combs and brushes you can think of.I recommend bringing your dog elsewhere for grooming to save some time and make sure they get the proper service on schedule.Other than Bianca, my experience with other groomers here has been alright but slightly inconsistent. The first time the haircut was perfect. The second time the length was all over the place and left too long.

Went to this Petco last week to get some fish tank supplies. It was my first time and I was really impressed with their inventory. It was really well stocked. Just do your research ahead of time and be careful about asking the staff for information. E.g., I pick up some live aquarium plants and one of them was unlabeled. I wanted to purchase it but wasn't comfortable placing some unknown plant in my tank (e.g., unknown lighting, water parameter needs, some can actually out-compete/choke out your other live plants). When I asked for help identifying the plant they sent over this really impatient boy who tried guessing, then said he would "go to the back" to find out and then finally returned saying he wasn't sure and tossing out some more guesses. He then looked me dead in the face and said "Does it really even matter?" These are their representatives folks. I was understanding of him not knowing the plant but that last comment demonstrated a level of blatant cluelessness that every customer should be careful about. So I'd give the store supplies a 4 but the service a solid 2.

Store is fine. But I was very disappointed to find out that my guinea pigs that I bought there have ringworms (which is very common in pet stores).Employees, please check animals that you sell or at least give them weekly check ups.. Because right now I'm giving a lot of money away for treatments and vet visits.

My sister and I went to the store since we were rescuing a dog from a shelter for my mother who recently in August of last year lost my father. It has been so tough for my family and we needed something to lift the spirits in the house. We were lost since it was our first time having a dog. We received help from 2 girls at the store. As both were very helpful Makana went above and beyond explaining everything and making suggestions for us. She never made us feel like we were bothersome and showed she extremely cared for animals with all her knowledge. She loves her job and it shows. We love close by so I will definitely be back to purchase from her again. Thank you everyone at the Petco store El Paseo. Great store and should be rewarded for their hard work.

The order is partially canceled. This has happened a few times. The Pal Rewards I used to pay for the order disappears with canceled order. The store manager did try but could not recover the reward. Please check the inventory before allowing us to place pick-up order.

Great store for your pet needs, the cashiers are always very smiley, greeting you when you walk in the door. The store itself is pretty big with a fair amount of selection for what you need. Join their Petco pals rewards to track your purchases and to earn a coupon for every $100 you spend plus various emails about upcoming sales!

I took her to the groomers at this location and was NOT happy. My dog is small and wanted to spoil her with full service and some upgrades. They finished her within an hour. I was surprised how fast they finished her. When my boyfriend picked her up, he said she looked so depressed and took a picture of how her haircut looked like. Now I know why they finished quickly because the stylist did not take the time to shape her paws or her face. I spent 80 dollars for someone to butcher my poor baby's hair. My stylist was Kim. I would NOT recommend you taking your pet here to get groomed. It is over priced and they do not spend the time to make your pet look clean and brand new. I will not be coming back for the grooming services.

Staff was friendly and helpful. They quickly showed me to the items I needed. When there wasn't a flatbed cart available they even carried the items to my car. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because Petco gets animals from Puppy and other mills.

Love this Petco! Everyone is super upbeat and help you find what you need. Grooming and self grooming departments rock that provide all youto wash your dog without struggling at home on your knees and shower heads are awesome and make it very easy to clean. Towels are provided there and collars for the dogOr cat you want to clean. You are welcome to bring your own supplies if needed but why worry about all the clean up. $10 bucks on the weekdays and $12 on weekends. No appt necessary just first come first serve. We had no waiting one evening during the week and kids had fun washing, too. Blow dryer available and I believe there a four large stainless steel sinks with doggy stairs attached.Plus, their grooming department also does an awesome job trimming up my small Morkie and are always kind and never grumpy likesome otherplaces we have gone and have a window so you see how your pup is doing. We go about once every 6 months andLastly, you can build up or use your Petco rewards points to help pay.Self service baths are located inside the grooming dept doors just to the right and you just help yourself! Love that!

I came in near closing time to pick up an online order. When I got to the front of the store, someone was locking it - my phone showed 8.59pm. I showed my phone and they looked at each other mumbling "order pick up" but they just walked away and ignored me (didn't look at me again or acknowledge me). I expected better treatment than that. At the very least, they could have told me "sorry, but the register/ system has been shut down, etc". They were more interested in getting home on time than helping/ being nice to their customers. Very disappointed!!!

Won't be going there for grooming anymore as my dog has gotten too many bad haircuts in a row, but it's fairly good quality for a good price. I go here for all my other pet supplies including my lizard, hamster, and cats and everyone is pretty friendly.

I gave my rating a 2 because the store is great - nice and clean, has a variety of items to choose from and the service from the front store staff has always been great...The grooming center on the other hand is a different story... the service is absolutely horrible there and my dogs have gotten the worst grooming ever from there. My dogs have come back with matted hair and excess hair all over their coats. Their paws are never properly taken care of either. The “do it yourself” bath area is always out of service or only one works but there’s a big wait time. Very disappointing place and will not be bringing my dogs there anymore...

A wonderful Petco. It is clean, well maintained, and full of friendly staff. It has a full range of cat and dog foods, with almost every variation (big breed, weight, elder pets, etc.) Treats are everywhere. The register people give pet treats at check out. It has grooming service that is loved by some of our friends.

I visit the place almost every month for dog grooming. Groomers are friendly, recommend what service might best service for your dog.It's unfortunate that my dog doesn't love to be groomed but otherwise, I would say do visit. Clean place and friendly staff.

Always a pleasant experience @ Petco. I was asked not once but twice if I needed help finding a product by VERY friendly staff. Store was clean, well organized and well stocked. I recommend this store to anyone who needs pet supplies.

I took my dog the grooming department and they didn't even try to cut his hair. I did let them know tha he was a little difficult from the beginning. And that he didn't like hair cuts. I have taken my dog to other places for a hair cut and they gave him something to calm him down. They told me that I couldn't go back there, and I said good. I am not thinking to back there anyway. I do suggest that you have your stuff fully train. Not all the dogs will be good specifically when it comes to a total stranger holding them. Keep that in mind. I do understand the safety of the stuff, but finding new strategies like other places do. I am very unhappy they have me wait an hour and cut half of his hair and said take him home!!!If you dog has a hard time with hair cuts, don't take them there. They will waist your time.

Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful workers. I was on the hunt for the perfect hamster and kept coming back every week to see the new shipments. The staff was very nice and let me see all the hamsters and take them out to gauge their friendliness. However, I have to knock off a point because they have a very small selection of hamsters (compared to the other Petco's and Petsmart's I went to - which was basically every one in the South Bay) and not a lot of hamster items (bedding, cages, food, and toys) available.

We've been taking our dogs to this particular one for several years and have been very pleased. The only time there was any kind of issue was once when a groomer cut our dog's hair quite a lot shorter than we wanted, so she looked pretty sad for a couple of weeks as it grew back out. It wasn't exactly a tragedy so we continue to go there as the groomers are all caring and professional and the prices very reasonable.I have to respond to the person who gave this place one star as I just don't think I'd give a lot of weight to that reviewer. One star? SERIOUSLY?!?!?! And your comment about a groomer taking "at least 3 cigarette and food breaks" while you filled out paperwork and shopped in the store?!?! I mean did you watch to see exactly where and what this young girl did or did you follow her out the door? You sound like a stalker to me. Creepy.

Limited amount of supplies, not as wide selection as other stores. There is grooming in the back and a doggie hotel as well with someone inside socializing with the dogs but there were very few toys for each dog to entertain themselves.Staff was super friendly, that's always a plus.

I wish they had a more reliable fruit fly source or better alternatives available for tiny frogs and reptiles. It's very frustrating calling around and going from location to location just trying to find one that actually has anything for my pet. So, you know, hit or miss here if you've got anything non-traditional or exotic. Petco's rewards card also only really gives cat and dog related rewards. I've literally never gotten anything useful from it. 4 out 5 for the location, 2 out of 5 for Petco in general.

I didn't like the information summary they had for a puppy we adopted, literally everything was the same in the summary a long with her sister the only thing different was the name. They got the fur color wrong, didn't point out her amazing markings, they don't know her breed, and try to sell you the most expensive brand of dog food even if your dog can't eat it due to medical issues.

This is the first ever worst experience with Petco. The trim was horribly uneven. Ours is Pure bred Maltese(3yr old), a boy. We always take him to Petco, they are such welcoming professional and all smiles except this location(El Paseo Saratoga,CA). I see few red scars from the scissor usage, totally unprofessional. Specifically I mentioned to trim his tail fur and they didn't! In fact my wife would have done better grooming for my boy. I'm not gonna go to this location ever again. Very disappointed.
