Rude customer service! I got yelled at for asking a simple question I couldn't get out of there fast enough. That is NOT okay! What's wrong with this guy is his life really that miserable? If I could I would leave -0 stars!

Saw the positive reviews here and wanted to check the store out. Did not expect to get yelled at by the dirty old smoker who runs the shop for wanting to try a heavily planted, low-tech tank. Maybe instead of complaining about bills to customers, try smoking outside and cleaning up the shop so it doesn't look like a hoarders nest?

Not opened at 11 like its posted sign. Waited 10 minutes. Still closed. Place looks trashy looking from the outside the windows

When I go to a fish store, I want: an expected selection of fish, healthy fish, and required items for proper care. This store checks all of those boxes.I have purchased fish and a shrimp from Natural life and they've all come in good health and are doing well. In my experience, the owner, while not overly attentive, has never been unavailable or rude.Prices are higher than an average box store which is to be expected at a small business - particularly one that maintains better health in their fish. My only critical feedback is that the store could be cleaner.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in the store when all the lights were off. I should have asked, but the owner asked if I wanted to look at marine or freshwater and when I said freshwater, he flipped a switch and half the store lit up with tanks. And boy were they great. Every tank was full of beautiful, healthy fish. Hardly any had accurate labels so I had to keep bugging the owner with questions. Most don't have prices but assume they will be on the high end of the range. But it's worth it. Many of his fish come from local breeders. As far as the livestock is concerned, this place is up there with Ocean or Aqua Forest in the top three SF fish stores.

I've visited this place three times. The first two visits were pleasant. The third experience has made me not want to go back. I am still new to the hobby (6months) and didn't do research about prices. I bought 4 chili rasbora, 1 juvenile German ram and a $6.99 pack of frozen bloodworms. I was charged $62 and change. I thought it was a little pricey but didn't question it since a lot of their fish come from local breeders. As soon as I got home I did some research on how much those fish usually cost and realized I had been ripped off. Bc of this experience I won't be returning

If u enjoy dark, damp and smelly mold then go on in. Extremely over priced. Most non living items can be found for a much cheaper price online. The prices for fish is more too but not a rip off. What is a rip off are the Betta fishes, what can be purchased for under 20 dollars are being sold for 50 and more. Go here if u like being rip off.

The owner is very knowledgeable and welcoming, and is always happy to answer any questions. The fish are all healthy with a good variety of both salt and freshwater creatures. A great store for both beginners and more advanced hobbyists.

Store has almost everything thing you need for your reef aquarium all supplements food filters. Place is packed. They have a good selection of corals but prices are a bit higher than other stores. They have a punch of huge corals. Also, lots of green allergy bacteria growing and they are tanks looks like they don't clean them also customer service not good thanks for reading my opinion for one time visit.

Great selection of saltwater and freshwater fish. And healthy fish, too. Nicer than the larger box stores. The store may not look like much from the outside, but inside, the selection of fish is better than the local stores in the area. PLUS, they have live brine shrimps! The only fish store in the area that has it.

First time there and is a new favorite of mine - well stocked with fresh/salt fish and accessories. Solid knowledge and very friendly. I live in Pacifica and this is the closest legit aquarium store to us. Better prices than the box stores too!

Healthy and happy fish! The owner is very knowledgeable. Good selection of items. Including fresh live brine shrimp! PLEASE DO NOT SHOP AT PETCO OR PETSMART! Their fish are not healthy. Do not risk bringing a disease home to your aquarium.

It's a smaller store but I can't complain since I do love my betta and he seemed to be in better health than most chain fish stores. The man isn't rude like most people mentioned he was. 😂

Small, dirty, tanks were filthy and covered in algae, service was gruff and seemed annoyed to have customers. Prices were average to high. In general, hard to recommend versus the many great options that can be found in the Bay Area.

Ditch PetCo or PetSmart. I had no idea how to best care for my fish and received zero advice (let alone from anyone with years of experience). The cooler I wanted to make my tank, the more everything would die. MANFRED is the man! Beautiful, healthy, non-stressed fish, and all of the advice and wisdom you could ever ask for. If you are in SF or Peninsula, I cannot recommend Manfred more. I have a badass tank with a plethora of species that are finally living happily!!!!!!

I used to shop at this aquarium shop years ago when they were in the southbay. I thought they had shut down, until I discovered them again in SSF!This is great news because this store is one of the best I've ever been to. There are other good aquarium shops but they are all in the east bay, it's too far of a drive for me.I highly recommend this place, the people really know their stuff.

Please do not go to this place. This man is rude as hell. All of his tanks are dirty and he rips you off. Learn how to talk to people guy. Never going back
