I came here for a nail trim a couple of months ago and my dog screamed so loud I almost bust into the grooming area. While she's never enjoyed having her nails done, it was never a problem. But after going to this location she has been impossible to trim. Our vet used to trim her with no problem and we are now on our third visit trying to sedate her and get it done. Whatever these guys did was traumatic for her and I wish I'd never taken her.

Moved to SF a little over a year ago with my 2 chihuahua teacup mixes - by that description you already know I’m fussy and weird and love my babies - I’m SO GLAD I found Jyoti and Amy at BWMSF!!The most helpful staff, chill store PACKED with everything ANNND drop in nail trim service - I’ve NEVER had to wait!!!I even ran in to the store 12 minutes before closing and didn’t even beg! They were amazingly kind and unfussed at my nonsense.I’ve recommended BWMSF to two other dog moms that moved here from back East also and they were both so thankful!Love love love - thank you!!!

Bow Wow has a lot of trinkets for dogs- fake ice cream cones, fake candy, leashes.We went in for a grooming, our second, for a small dog with matted hair- $100 estimate. They claimed it took more time and I paid $220.I wonder how much do they mark up their other products.We went up the street and the dog g,.Wags, said they would charge $95 for the same service of a close grooming if the dog had matted fur.But they are professional dog groomers and only do grooming and not sell fake candy bars for dogs.If you want your dog groomed professionally and well go to WAGS

I am very disappointed to leave this review but have no choice after the past several visits. I have been bringing my dog here for the last 13 years and the staff always acts like they've never seen me or my dog before. They always ask for my name, my dog's name and what grooming should be done. So much for friendly neighborhood service. I feel more appreciated at any random Starbucks I go to.Starting about a year ago, every few times I go in, they keep increasing the price. A couple months ago they said I requested "extra grooming" when I questioned the price increase (I never requested "extra grooming"). Today the price went up $15 since my past visit (less than 2 months ago). I said I paid $15 less the last time, which she disagreed with and said I was definitely mistaken. I then pulled up all recent charges on my phone and she had the audacity to tell me I've been getting a $15 discount the past 5 visits but no one told me. I believe the manager was present (a man who I always see there), but he said nothing.Of course, a normal business would have allowed me to pay the previous charge and said going forward there would a $15 increase. I'm tired of it. I will now go somewhere else and & don't even care if they charge more, I just want to be treated like my business is valued.

Disappointed with cut and too expensive. They charged me $80 more dollars than what they quoted me on the Not worth it at all. They also kept her for 3 hours.

This pet shop has been my go-to for so many years. Whenever I needed an accessory for my dogs, I always went here. It was all affordable, and their workers were very insightful. They gave you advice on what's fit for your pets. We have a really good conversation. Highly recommended!

This place has a great selection of gear and treats. I swear by the Buddy Belt harnesses and they have them. Haven't tried the groomers yet but I will update my review when I do.

The groomers are not good,I took my dog in once to get his nails trimmed and they never trimmed them but I had to pay! I now go to Bernie and Susie’s on Hyde and sutter! My dogs nails are properly trimmed now!

Not happy with service. It took 3 hours for my puppy to get groomed and it didnt look like they did anything. Grooming was poorly done, hair was cut unevenly, shampoo smells like mens cologne. Not worth the price, despite discount. Wont come back.

Prior to this review, we would give 5 stars because Bow Wow Meow SF grooms our dog Dukito with care and skill. He's part Italian greyhound, with strong nails that require dremeling. They use quality products for every process; and carry quality goods and treats. The store has what I need 99% of the time; and will order the item for that 1%. Additionally, the Bow Wow staff is ready to advise when I need. It's clear that they love their work and their furry customers.With this interview, we give a huge, heartfelt thanks to Amy and her awesome staff, especially Conner and Sherry. You see, Dukito and our family got the news that his tumor, found by Conner and Sherry during Dukito's regular grooming appointment, is benign. It was removed by the highly-skilled, small-dog-specialist surgeon, Dr. Hani Korani of Sage Veterinary Hospital SF. We watched it for a few days. Then, the growth doubled in size and took over his tendons virtually overnight. It was extremely aggressive and is usually found in dogs 12 years +. Dukito is 6.5 years. Now, we have another extraordinary reason to be forever-grateful to Bow Wow Meow. Dukito typically runs when we head toward Bow Wow Meow. He loves the treats and his grooming times. We imagine that, in the weeks to come once the bandages come off, he'll be running there with wagging tail as always. That's the beauty with our dogs, right? Life and love goes on....

This place so many cute things for pets. Unique brands and healthy foods. We get our cats nails trimmed here for 20 dollar and they get her and out in no time. They do such a good job at getting them trimmed down just right. It's a neat spot to check out if you're just visiting, to get something from a local pet store for your furry friends.

I highly recommend Bow Wow Meow's pet grooming services, having been a client since they opened their doors. Do try to use the same groomer each time as this will facilitate a relationship with your animal, making the experience more pleasant for all. Amy, the store manager, has been with this establishment since Day One and has shaped the business into a high-quality, consistent and reasonably priced - considering the location - entity. The personnel are extremely careful to learn what they are expected to do; the grooming area is clean and organized; and the 8:00 a.m. "In-&-Out" service is a true convenience.

My dog has been coming here for his entire life and that's almost 10 years. He was a little shy at first but everyone there is so patient and welcoming and that he loves to go there for his monthly grooming visit. Is always at me and ready to go on time. As an added bonus to this awesome grooming to Sellitti, I also have a great retail space in the front with absolutely everything that you could need from training aids treats food supplies and clothes! I refer everyone I know here and I couldn't think of going anywhere else

Being new to the city, we were worried about finding the perfect groomer for our dogs but I can honestly say that Bow Wow Meow is the place to go! I have two Boykin Spaniels who were groomed just today and when I picked them up, I was thrilled. They look and smell great! The staff here is super friendly and very helpful. Rusty and Huck will be frequent visitors for sure. :)

We love Bow Wow Meow! I have been taking my Westie (Chloe) there since 2008/2009* and they have always done a wonderful job with her grooming.They also have tons of cat & dog food/treats and lots of fun toys, beds, collars, etc.And the people there are always super friendly and willing to help with any questions.*Sadly, we moved a few years ago and started going to Mudpuppies on Castro Street because it is a closer option, but we still go to Bow Wow Meow when Mudpuppies is booked out.

Unbeknownst to me, because it's not stated anywhere I was buying Bulk Cod skins Made in China!!!!! Not cool, I mean they make just about EVERYTHING ELSE we buy but I make it a hard policy to to feed Made in China treats to my Dog EVER!!! They need to post it on their products. Also they were rubbery & tough which is how l learned the truth--when I complained.

I took my perisan cat to get groomed and they did a horrible job leaving patches of hair. I should have checked before leaving but I was in a hurry and expected it to be a professional cut because of the cost.

I just called this location to get some information and was put on hold. This is of course not a problem, but my call dropped. I called back and was put on hold again and my call was dropped again. The third time, I tried to explain the situation and they immediately put me back on hold. I waited for 3 minutes and called back. When I called back an EXTREMELY rude person answered and said "I'm going to have to put you on hold THANKS for hanging up" before I even had the opportunity to say a single word. This kind of awful customer service is absolutely unacceptable. Find somewhere else for your supplies.
