I took my pup in today and we had an excellent experience! We don’t live close, but they were the only location who could fit her in on such short notice and it was worth the trip! The front desk, techs, and vet were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and you could tell truly love animals. They provided several treatment options, based on price, and I didn’t feel pressured into spending more money than I needed to. Thank you, we will be back!

The vet was not sensitive towards me, my experience with my dog, nor did she take my explanation of his health history/tendencies/behavior into consideration with diagnosing him. She also told me “if you want the best for him you would do everything on the estimate”. Mind you— I went in for an ear infection, I came out with an entire page of services for urine test, cytology tests, X-rays, dental cleaning, blood tests, etc. I told her everything my previous vet (also petco) has told me in the duration of us seeing him this past year, and she told me she didn’t agree with any of it. So I’m there for 2 hours, my dog is in pain, I’m being made to feel like a bad dog parent, and to make it worse after everything was said and done— I’m sitting in the lobby and the vet tech loudly tells another vet walking out “good job today Dr. Lee, you made us a lot of money today”. So now, I’m feeling like this vet saw a young woman with an elderly dog as a cash cow, and added all of these services to my estimate and guilt tripped me regarding what I was able to prioritize today (I don’t have thousands of dollars on hand to handle the entire estimate) in a money grab move. Poor bedside manners, and poor communication. I will never go to the Carmel Mountain Ranch Vetco again.

Love Vetco! It’s soooo clean and they are all attentive to me and my dog. The price is right and they always have the best intentions. I also, love the Vetco program as I can use my rewards for other things in Petco. Shout out to Vivi, Natalie and Dr. Lee and new Dr. Lucas

I do not recommend this clinic. Don't waste your money. We arrived with a dog who had a severe rash and itching, he was constantly scratching and losing his hair. They billed us $600 for unnecessary procedures and did nothing to help us. When we arrived at another clinic, the first thing the veterinarian did was take an analysis of this rash. This is understandable, how can you treat something you don’t know? Now our dog has made significant improvements.

I needed a same day appointment for my dog who was so obviously not feeling well. The whole experience was well done. Loved the vet tech and the vet. Friendly, clean and most importantly timely. I've actually had several great experiences at my Vetco.

I don't recommend Vetco at Carmel Mountain. Don't waste your time. I went there for a vaccine and a skin problem, had a confirmed appointment, but upon arrival, they said the schedule was full and couldn't see my dog. They are irresponsible and poorly organized. If you care about your dog's health, I don't recommend this place at all.

Dr. Lee is great! She examined my pup and was super nice throughout the entire visit. The staff is great and they explain everything in detail for you. Come check them out.

I have been with Dr Lee for two years. She has been courteous and gives clear and easy to understand explanations. Her staff members are excellent as well. Recently I took my dog in to have a small tumor removed from his eyelid. He is recovering very well.

I took my 3 month old puppy here for an exam and vaccine. Excellent service, the doctor explained everything. Also gave me suggestions for food, since he was so picky. My lil Boovie was in good hands

I had a great experience at Thrive! It is a wonderful veterinary clinic. The staff there is respectful, knowledgeable and professional. I was able to set an appointment for my pup right away. When I arrived, they were prompt and received us with warm & welcoming smiles. They took very good care of our boxer, Maple. They made sure she was calm and comfortable throughout her entire visit. Maple now looks forward to going to the vet! :) Dr. Lee is very kind and patient, which I really appreciate because it really helps put an anxious dog mom at ease. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and clients. She takes the time to clearly explain the patients diagnosis and the next steps. She was also willing and able to answer ALL my questions and address any concerns I had. Maple and I highly recommend this vet clinic to all pet parents! :)

Amazing! I use the thrive + membership and got extremely good pricing on vaccine packages, flea and tick medicine, and free checkups which are normally $45! I’m a first time puppy owner and the vet and receptionist were able to answer all of my questions!! Super kind crew and definitely trust worthy. Bring your dog here! Ditch the overpriced vets and come here!

I've been meaning to write this review for MONTHS now! This is on behalf of my mother (not technologically savvy) who just had the most wonderful experience with this location and Dr. Cua whom she saw. My mother said she was astounded with the care & attention her senior dog received, Dr. Cua didn't rush her and was very kind and attentive. My mother was also very impressed with the staff and how patient they were with her. My mother is older so I truly appreciate this! I'll be sure to take my own pets there!

I’m glad Petco have the vet option now, I really like the doctor at the Rancho Penasquitos clinic, she takes her time explaining and answering my questions and concerns and the staff is very friendly. Keep up the good work!

My girlfriend took our dog to this vet, and had a horrible experience. They required us to collect our dogs feces to test, and once she got there they wanted to charge us more for the test, thinking it was part of a check up. Given, our dog is very sensitive to new places, dogs, and people, the staff refused to allow my girlfriend to go in with our dog to comfort him. Once the bill came around, the vets did not demonstrate a clear understanding on what we had to pay. She could not explain why they would print out the amount due was less than what we actually paid. Referencing that the “subtotal” of all the items we asked for was much more than the amount due. Honestly it’s not even about what we paid, but how they communicate their billing. Now, we have to go back and I expect to be billed the same way… confused af.

I tried THRIVE vet services at Petco for a vaccine. I was not happy they required a exam to get the vaccine. But the exam was thorough and informative, better than I get at my normal vet. And the price was reasonable. I will be going back to Dr Lee.

Anyone sick of companies using covid as an excuse to provide poor customer service and to be just flat out lazy? When interviewing Thrive to be our new Vet for my two large dogs and update their shots we agreed to an in-person visit. This was also confirmed in the confirmation process the day prior to the visit. Once in the exam room, it was then explained to me that the dogs would be taken out of sight to a back room for the vet exam and shots. I'm traveling next week and leaving my dogs at a dog ranch, so I had little choice. The most idiotic part, the female vet called me from the room down the hall to upsell me on additional services from like 25 feet away! I could faintly hear her through the wall as I'm ridiculously talking to her on the phone. Needless to say the upsell didn't go well. Did my dogs get their vacines? Did the right dog get the right vacines? I have no idea. Will never use them again. So cold, not the customer service and care what you want for a furry family member

I called on Friday for an appointment for my dog and was able to get in on Saturday. She had an ear infection so I was really glad we were able to figure it out before it got worse. Dr. Lee is great.
