My rescue has suffered from anxiety since I brought him home, but the vet wants him bathed at least every other week for his itchy skin, and I can't do it. The groomers are so kind and gentile with him (he even kisses Sofia) that I feel confident that his protests about going in for his bath are only due to his aversion to water.

I love Sophia, and all the other groomers at the Sports Arena Petco, who go far beyond doing a great job grooming my pup. This is a very loving and caring team that I have complete confidence in. They have taken the time to know my concerns and they always tell me what they noticed on his body and/or with his behavior.

Every groomer who has trimmed our dogs nails has been friendly and gentle with him. We are appreciative of their care! Also, the store is clean and every employee we've come into contact with has been knowledgeable and friendly.

I have been taking my dogs to Petco for grooming for several years because they are very good with them. I have never had Spots come home with cuts from the shaver like experienced at a competitor (that is why we switched to Petco). The staff is awesome and before the virus, I liked that I could pop in to have the other dogs' nails cut/buffed.

I just moved to San Diego and was excited to take my dog to get groomed at this location. I saw that the prices were low which was another plus and friends recommended it. I booked online 4 weeks out because that’s the only appointment they had available after looking into multiple locations. I get to the check in counter and briefly mention that I had given my dog a CBD treat to help with her anxiety as it was recommended by my vet. The groomer said she could not groom her as it was corporate policy to not groom dogs on any sedatives. She then asked me if I wanted to schedule another appointment 3 weeks out. I have a doodle so this is not an option. This “corporate policy” was posted no where on the website. Believe me I looked haha I also called to verify with 2 other locations and they verified this is not a policy. I am shocked that I was turned away considering this was something many vets recommend for anxious dogs. I will absolutely not be back to Petco. Thanks for the huge inconvenience Petco. Please put your “policy” on your website.

The groomers know my dogs by name. My Bijan, who is typically a wiggly dog always has really good haircuts. That has not always been the case with other groomers. The groomers do a great job at this Petco.

I swore that I had papers indicating that my dog, Guapo, had valid papers indicating that he has had a rabies shot in 1918 that is a 3-year shot. I live about 20-25 minutes from the Petco Store. The young lady assisting me made me drive home and return (45-50 minutes) to show her the one paper I had not included. I, more than anyone else guard the safety of my dog and would never expose him to a contagious disease.

I was mad because the groomer turned out not to be who I was scheduled with when I made appointment, but more importantly, the price was Not the same as the website. It said 27 for shampoo and 42 for haircut with shampoo. This was wrong, I even took a picture which they told me to do and they would not honor it. The cut was ok,

Excellent cut. Very good customer service. I was told the cut would take 1-1.5 hours and it was closer to 2 hours. Not a huge deal but a closer range would have helped.
