I've been taking my dog here for grooming since he was a tiny puppy and I've always been super satisfied with his cuts/grooming appointments. It can be a little pricey but if you pay for the Petco premier program you end up with rewards that can help alleviate the price and you get every 8th groom free!Not to mention that their entire staff at the Clairemont store is so caring and friendly and more specifically, Monica is amazing, she's always so attentive and got a great attitude! She remembers my dog and exactly how I like him to be cut, she's great :)

Got my pet dogs groomed last Saturday, October 28, 2023 and when I came out from the store ( I was still in front of the store outside) I noticed that one of my dogs was bleeding from her leg. Monica, the groomer noticed me from the window that I was checking on my dog’s leg. Monica stepped out from the store and checked my dog’s bleeding leg and told me that she’s going to call her manager. Christina, the manager of the store told me to take my dog to VCA hospital on Kearny Mesa rd to get it checked and she told me that she’s going to meet me there. I arrived at the VCA hospital and waited for Christina but she was a no show, instead she called VCA hospital and told them that they are not going to be responsible for any medical expenses for my dogs injury. I went back to the store and confronted her about lying to me that she’s going to meet me at the VCA hospital and telling them that they are not responsible for my dog’s injury and medical expenses that would be incurred for treatment. She then told me that they are not responsible because I checked out the dogs from them and took off in my car and came back after. She was lying, because I was still in front of the store. So I told her why is she lying, so I told her to pull the videos if I left the store and see who’s the liar. Monica was not the person who took my dogs out, it was the other guy/person working at that time too who took my dogs out from the kennel. He probably the one who injured my dog, and the manager Christina, the nerve of her to lie to my face. This manager instead of apologizing for what happened to my dog, lied to my face. We are demanding restitution for the medical expense we incurred for my dog, the fact that she lied to me, and the burden of humiliation from the people from VCA hospital that I experienced! I want Christina fired from that store and reimbursed for the medical expense.

Today was my first time using Pecto Grooming at Clairemont Mesa and I am very happy I found this place. I am new to SD and had struggled finding good and fair priced groomers. Not only the team is very friendly and accommodating, but the quality of their service plus friendliness is very good. Thank you Jessica for being so accommodating to my dog and for gave her a nice haircut, it was exactly what I expected plus she looks so cute and soft. I can tell that my dog Maggie had a good time, even though she is not a big fan of grooming salons. It will be my place to go whenever I need some grooming.

I have to say I love it because there is one groomer who is always so accommodating and gentle with my dog. I only use them to trim his nails (I have a genetically bald Doberman so ..) but in the past I have used them for the full bath and the works and was never disappointed with the quality of the service.Now, I have lucked out and gotten Monica the past couple of times and she is just so pleasant and organized and willing to squeeze in a quick nail trim that I wrote a note to her manager just to make sure she was somehow recognized for her uncommon good service. I would never worry about leaving my dog unattended there if she were the groomer.

Niko looks the best he ever has. He has had a cough the past three days, I noticed your leash was very loose ugh and he was coughing from it. Just a recommendation- little dogs cannot be pulled by the Lyme of leash your groomers us.

Monica is very sweet, kind and gentle with my Suzie. Suzie was a badly treated rescue and I am very particular about who handles her. Monica impressed me with her compassion and kindness toward my little Suzie. I would recommend her to anyone with a special needs dog. I am so glad Monica is in the Clairemont Pet Grooming Center near my home.

The employees were more than accommodating. I forgot my updated vaccine paperwork and had to return home to find it. I ended up being an hour late to my appointment but they rescheduled it the same day because there was a small window of availability! Extremely accommodating and understanding! The haircut was perfect, as always. My pup smells and looks great! Thanks Petco Grooming!

Holly has been a godsend to my little rescue dachshund Bella. The first day I got Bella, I stopped on our way home to get her bathed. Holly took such care of her as she has been severely abused by the previous owner. Shall we say, the rest is history. I only allow Holly to groom my two dogs. Shes been professional, loves her work, and accommodating during my breast cancer treatment and difficulty getting the dogs to her regularly. Thank you for employing a great employee with such passion.

Our groomer was patient and seemed caring with our dogs. We have a chihuahua and a pit bull and our groomer knew how to handle both accordingly. Our fur babies were super clean, smelling great and most importantly so happy!

I took my Havanese puppy to this location and had a horrible experience. First when me and my family went to drop off my dog at the grooming area the staff were very rude to my mom and explained to us that she would have to shave my dog completely, because of the knots in his fur even though much of his fur was fine. Later, we get a call from the groomer saying that she cut my dogs ears and there was internal bleeding. When I went to pick up my dog the lady there didn't even say sorry to me and just told me there could be permanent damage in his ears and he could possibly go deaf. He now has to have a wrap around his head and needs to take a lot of medication in order to heal. I hope this is a warning to all of you to never take your dog to this location.

Both groomers did a great job on my poms, who hate baths and haircuts. They were not stressed out and anxious when I picked them up, and they had no eating tantrums, which usually occur. I'm glad to recommend them!

I am extremely disappointed with the care for my pet and the haircut that he received. My dog was at the groomer for 4 hours. When I arrived to pick him up the groomer had not even started the haircut. She said it would be another 30 more minutes as I saw her start his haircut about 10 mins later. I am furious that my dog had to sit there for 4 hours just waiting. After an hour of waiting my dog is ready. She shaved his whole body all the way down to the skin and left a very sloppy, uneven haircut around the face and ears. When my husband dropped him off he specifically spoke to a groomer about the cut and she said no problem at all. I had a brief conversation with the groomer when I picked my dog up and she was very Rude. I’m upset that I had already paid for the haircut otherwise I would have refused. I will never take my pet to Petco again and I hope this is a warning to others.

The groomers are helpful and friendly, explain any issues they had with the grooming, and do their best to make my dog (Maggie) feel comfortable. They did an excellent job with the grooming and Maggie looks like a new dog.

EZRA in grooming is a champ!! Really helped us out when we were in a bind. Our "Josie (a Moyen Poodle) is a bit of a tough groom, she's extremely touchy about her feet - the result of mistreatment as "puppy mama" at a puppy mill.EZRA was ever so patient and gentle with her. He made her beautiful even with her difficulties. I can't imagine how sweet she wouild look if she just cooperated a little bit more! Be sure to ask for him if you're looking for a groomer to treat your "fur baby" with the greatest respect!
