We get both of our dogs Louie and Seashell groomed here. Mercedes does an excellent job and she works really well with them. Louie has a lot of anxiety, and she kept him calm and happy. She did an awesome lion cut on him. We will definitely be coming back regularly. The prices are very fair too.

I WOULD AVOID THIS STORE....Horrible experience with a very rude disrespectful manager named Justine. This store does not follow corporate return policy of store credit after 30 days. I was snubbed by this manager with her arms crossed and smug facial expressions saying she didn't care what the corporate policy was on the Petco website because that is her policy and what she was trained to do. Justine wouldn't give me her supervisors name and I was told she wasn't there and no way to get a hold of her.- I'm editing my review after I read your textbook response.Your responses to all the negative reviews and complaints about your rude staff and poor customer service come across as very passive and condescending not to say useless. You clearly don't take these reviews seriously because you haven't taken any action to remedy the problems.Maybe the problem starts from the top of the Management! Hmm?If you are having the same repeat problems in reviews for months or even years with the same employee then maybe its time to let them go.You haven't changed your return policy to adhere to the Petco Corporate policies on the Petco website. I have no idea why you do this to your customers. Seems like this just fuels the problems at your store.I've been a customer at this Pacific beach store for 20+ years. Bought food, toys, supplies for several great dogs and adopted 3 kittens and now I have a new puppy. After dealing with Justine and her rude attitude and unprofessional behavior I will never give your store another penny.I left your store and went to Clairemont Petco where I was created and treated with respect and received the correct Petco return policies and had a wonderful experience.They will get a great review and my business.You like Apples? How do you like those Apples?Shame on you!!

We were overcharged at this location by more than double the price. After checking the receipt, we called and the manager Jess was incredibly aggressive and disrespectful. She took no responsibility and refused to help us find a solution. She instead decided to yell at us and tell us it was not her problem. Constantly interrupted us and told us we were in the wrong for not noticing in the first place. We called customer service after and they were great. We should have called them first. We will NEVER be back to this location. Check your receipts! This store will try to scam you. I should not have to anticipate fraud while shopping at a pet store..

I had amazing support from Kelli. I visited the beautiful city of San Diego and needed dog food for my dog. I explained the needs of my dog to Kelli, she helped me find fresh food to feed my dog immediately and Kelli helped me find food that would fit our needs while traveling. Thank you.

The employees at this location are extremely rude. I went there tonight to buy cat litter.When I went to the register there was nobody there, so I asked a female employee named Summer if there was anyone working the register and she seemed annoyed by my question. Then another female employee who had no name tag and didn’t even look like she worked there said “I am” then she took her sweet time getting to the register as she was on her phone ordering I think Door Dash. She said nothing to me as she rang up my order, handed me my receipt while still saying nothing then she opened her arms very wide to the next customer in line like she was going to hug him. It was a very strange interaction. She didn’t say “thank you or “have a nice day” or anything to me.I won’t be going to this location again. This isn’t the first time one of their employees was rude to me.

This Petco is always so tidy and stocked so well… it brings me joy to shop here! The employees are all so kind and they all go above and beyond. Kelli is always knowledgeable, fun, and focused… She seems to truly care about her tasks/customers and recognizes me every time I’m in, even though I only recently started shopping at this location. The store manager at the pacific beach location does not follow your return policy which is completely illegal. I spent an hour and half there talking with customer service on the phone where they instructed the assistant manager Justine she had to accept my return per petcos return policy. It was absolutely ridiculous and completely illegal.

Love this place., Love Adam who is an amazing dog trainer. The cost of training is so much more reasonable than the high end spots. We're going to get AKC good citizen award in a week and this was seriously the craziest of puppy's! They have everything I need so I can buy locally and not online.

I have been taking my baby Moose to this Petco for grooming for the past year and never have had a complaint. Samantha and team do a great job bathing, grooming my baby & get him super fresh and clean. This store is always clean, well stocked, sales associates are super friendly. I will continue to support this Petco! Thanks!

I’m being deployed and needed a small bag of dog food and came in at 7:57. Two mins before closing. The employees at this location showed me the right food for my dog and a sale on some Halloween toys for her on her travel in a carrier. I couldn’t have been happier that they allowed me in 2 mins before closing, helped me find the food and helped w some toy selections. Goo PB closing staff on 9/20/23 !! And thanks

I wish I knew everyone's name to give them a full shout out! Bryan and Gale are always bright and helpful in aquatics! Gale taught me about snails and took time to talk me through my options, and Bryan has been supporting my partner and I in making informed decisions about the well being of our current and in process tank. Kelli is kind and optimistic, and always recognizes us with a bright greeting when we arrive!We really enjoy going to this store because the staff are so supportive, knowledgeable, and approachable! Amazing! Sam was kind and so caring to our old grumpy fur baby! She was in touch with me to let me know things were going and letting me know that he was struggling a bit but asked if she could have more time so she could keep working with him. I mean… so sweet! The whole staff were really friendly but Sam was above and beyond. We will drive out from Palm Desert just to continue with her and this PETCO!! Thank you :)

The employees were all incredibly helpful! This would be a great place to work. They went out of their way to help. They thoroughly answered all of my questions. My Daisy girl got her nails clipped. They were super gentle with her. Great impression of this particular location Petco. Will make my first stop for all pet things.

Josh was very unprofessional super rude since we got there because we told him we normally don't pay adoption fees since Petco likes to get rid of their animals after being there for only 30 days as proof of what they said so now only shopping at local shops because Petco is unprofessional and never have the right set ups for animals anyways

Needed a price on something, girl at cashier didn’t know how to do it so she tried to call her manager with over the loud speaker, had to call for him 7 times and help countless other guests before he finally sauntered up to the front. The whole experience of buying dog food that should have been 10 min took 30. Then he just walked away and didn’t get me checked out even though the other girl was now busy.

I recently brought my dog from Guam who had been living on the street- so she’s still pretty timid towards noises and people. I asked for a simple nail cut for her and the woman that helped me went above and beyond with making sure my dog was okay. I could watch through the window while she was cutting and buffing her nails, and she was extremely attentive to my dog and got everything done quickly and professionally. She was also very knowledgeable about dog emotional health and the Petco rewards program. I’ll definitely be back!

Have always had the best experience here at this store with the employees and especially their vet, Dr. Elmore! He has given my pup all of his vaccinations and I've always had a great, warm experience. Always putting me and my pup at ease. Unfortunately, the last Vetco visit we had Dr. Elmore wasn't in, so we had Dr. Lindsay Francis to give my 9 month old puppy his booster shot. Dr. Francis and her team took my dog quickly from me and shut the clinic doors without any real interaction with myself or my dog. They were in the room for about not even a minute and handed my dog back to me. The whole situation just felt off. Then Dr. Francis came out and introduced herself to me saying that my dog was reactive ("too wiggly" is how she described reactive) and I needed a dog trainer for him because he has an "attitude". I was very surprised by this because "reactive" and "attitude" have never been in the same sentence when speaking about my dog from anyone (and he's been to puppy dog training and multiple vets). And I agree, being wiggly is not fun for vets and I would love for him to sit still, but he is a puppy and vets are nerve-racking - So maybe she should have tried to give him a little comfort or treats. On top of this, I've never seen him too wiggly for this to be a comment, so I guess I'm confused on her reaction all-together. The whole experience was very cold and honestly if my dog was acting extra nervous I wouldn't blame him, her and her team were very quick and not friendly at all. I will still come to this Vetco for Dr. Elmore, but will make sure it is only to see him going forward.
