As you step through its welcoming doors, you're not just entering a space filled with books; you're stepping into a sanctuary that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and the power of storytelling. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the warm smiles of the staff. Usually the owner, Jesi , who has a genuine passion for literature and community.Libélula isn't just a bookstore; it's a meeting place, a safe space, and a cultural hub all rolled into one. Whether you're searching for the latest bestseller or a hidden gem from a local author. They host events from book clubs and author readings to workshops and community gatherings. It's a place where ideas are exchanged, friendships are formed, and voices are amplified. You will find something that speaks to you, and if you're not sure where to start, the staff are always on hand to offer recommendations. Kris is good with that. So next time you're in the neighborhood, stop by. You might find your new favorite book – and maybe even a sense of belonging. Gracias Libélula!

What I loved the most about Libélula Books is the atmosphere and the variety of books from different ethnic backgrounds. Here I found Always Running and It Calls You Back by Luis J. Rodriguez. Other books I came across highlighted immigrant stories, poems, children’s book, etc. You must check out this bookstore.

Amazing place. Very artistic and soothing interior. They also have a free little library where you can find novels, cook books and sometimes self-help books. I also love their stickers and they have tarot decks and some crystals.

Charming little bookshop in the heart of Barrio Logan with a special focus on Latinx books and arts. There is also a variety of stickers, records, patches, etc. in addition to the large book selection. The space itself is bright and airy with a couch to relax and read. Stop by to experience a bit of the culture that the Barrio has to offer.

Was in SD for work retreat and a local colleague brought us to Chicano Park and Barrio Logan. Libelula was a nook of nostalgia and amazing energy😻 complete with bookstore cat! Chicano and Brown pride with love for learning lives here. Queer owned and operated and it shows in the quality of care they show for their community! Highly recommend!

Libelula Books is officially open! It's such an inviting, beautiful and creative space. I'm glad I was able to be a part of opening day! Everyone stop by in Barrio Logan, grab a cup of coffee next door, and enjoy the variety of books and all the artistic goods they have to offer, it’s a beautiful addition to the community!

My new favorite bookstore! Amazing curation of books and just as amazing customer service. Latino-owned business with community at its heart. Amazing selection of books that are rarely seen, if at all at any other bookstore. The branding is 🔥, the little trinkets and decor Everywhere invokes a sense of Chicano whimsy that is unmatched. In love with Libélula and will definitely make this a must-stop on all future visits to San Diego. Much love - Alex @ravg.arts from LA ♥️ Tlazocamatli

This is a great place to buy a book, read a book with seating inside and out. Accessories also. Owner/Art Teacher Jesse offers knowledgeable insight about the structure of this 1920's building, art, culture, etc..

Took a peak at this lovely book store and reading room as they were closing. One of the owners was so generous to let me in and chat about the vision of another slice of heaven located in Barrio Logan. What a gem and beautiful addition to the community. Can’t wait to actually delve in and get a book or few.

Delightful small bookstore, so wonderfully curated. Loved talking to Chris about Billie the store cat and looking at all of the art and books there. The store specializes in indigenous authors and other underserved people. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful local bookstore with friendly and knowledgeable owners. There were a couple cute cats lounging around while I was there which would lay nearby for some pets while you lounged and read a few pages on the couch.

Its good to see more Hispanic owned businesses in Logan and businesses actually about supporting the community over gentrification. Owners are cordial & friendly and the selection is great for being informed on urban life and different peoples. The used books is also a great selection. Great for the community :)PS: The eclectic amount of random items like old tvs, telephones, & other rare finds are a nice sight.

The owner Jessi might not even be aware of how big of an impact our first interaction had on me, but I will forever be grateful that a complete stranger was so welcoming of me and my art in their book store. Employee Kris is a gem.

Awesome place! They had the book I came in for specifically. I love the whole vibe, and I love their selection. I ended up buying 5 or 6 books. I'll definitely be going back to look at more. Not very expensive either.

Found this bookstore while visiting the coffee shop across the street, and it has become a favorite! A great mix of nonfiction and fiction, centering queer, POC, and feminist stories. Owner was friendly and had great recommendations. Can't wait to visit for the SD Bookcrawl.

Maybe I just went on an off day but I was not impressed with this store. I was excited by all the reviews but was not really impressed. The store is tiny! Selection is super small, and is so disorganized it’s hard to find anything. I think the idea of it is cute but not impressed. Also lots of Harry Potter books.
