Magical nursery is all I can say about this place! Plant lovers can bring their families. Little ones can visit the mini donkeys, see their chicken roost, visit the turtle and tortoises, and say hi to the goats all while shopping for their next plant baby. Such a fun place to visit. Loved their different plant collection sections (Staghorn ferns, small selection of airplants, bromeliads, pottery, cacti, roses, pond plants, pollinators, pretty much everything you could imagine they have). They even have a bonsai section. If you happen to be in the area, stop here for a visit! Plenty of parking. There's a restaurant there and also a florist. Simply amazing!

This is a very cool place. It's worth a visit, even if you don't have plans to buy anything. It's owned and operated by the same family for the last 50+ years. They have some conventional stuff, but a lot more unique plants. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. And they have several fauna residents to visit, including turtles, tortoises, goats, chickens, and a miniature donkey.

A great place to shop for plants and pots, and to see some cute animals! There's a small parking lot.

One of the best selections of plants! Bare root fruit, to desert cactus. Enjoy the farm animals along all the walks of plants.

First-time visitor today - How have I not been to this miraculous, abundant, friendly place!?! It is Amazing! Sam immediately scooped us up and helped us find the perfect citrus tree solutions. We were out in minutes, but could have stayed all day to enjoy their cafe and amazing grounds. The vibe here is outstanding, with hints and scents that take me back to 1970s SoCal. So happy to have found this family and their amazing nursery.

This was a cute nursery in the middle of San Diego. The staff was friendly and helpful! They have a surprising number of farm animals: chickens, cows, goats, rabbits, turtles, and turkeys. My kids loved exploring! The parking lot is small but after a couple of minutes waiting we found a spot right in front. We ended up buying an orange tree. Prices are on the higher end.

Love this place. Everything about it. From the vegetable seedlings in the front to the wood furniture in the store to the chickens and goats in the back. The ponds and the mushroom ornaments. Truly a beautiful nursery. Tons of things to look at. You can find everything you need for your garden. Soils, composts, guano, worms, any type of meal fertilizer, they sell it by the pound, fruit trees, seeds lots of tomato seed varieties, etc. And their prices are good too. I’ve been to many nurseries in San Diego and in almost everything the price is better

An incredible experience! Which is funny to say about a nursery. But it’s a special nursery. It’s easy to spend hours here, as there’s always another walkway or corner you didn’t expect to be there. Actual live animals to enjoy, beautiful layout, and more plant varieties than you can imagine. Every fruit tree imaginable, an herb garden, even a shade garden with an Asian zen vibe. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. And once Nate’s is open again after the pandemic shutdown, it’ll only get better.

A great find! Lots of selection of trees and plants. Not too much variety of vegetables, but the prices are less than Walter Anderson. The donkeys and turtles are a nice surprise and they also have a great selection of food.

Loved this spot! It was so big and had so many unique plants. I picked out a fragrant mint that’s a rare, endangered native plant as well as some other herbs. I loved that they had fruit trees, bonsais, succulents, and more. Plus they had some cute animals. Highly recommend!

City Farmers is just the best around. This is an unequivocal fact. Family owned and operated for two generations now. The staff is knowledgeable on most types of plant related topics, their knowledge is vast, and they have an amazing collection. Plus, there are free classes and other events posted online.

Best experience at a nursery ever. It's like going to the zoo without paying admission and then getting to support local growers and seed companies filling up your garden with great veggies.

City Farmers Nursery is a local treasure. My kids love going to explore, to see the plants and animals, and to visit Farmer Bill. They have a great selection of native plants, soil and compost, herbs, flowers, veggies, decorative items, and even beekeeping equipment.

This place is wonderful! I discovered this place today. It is calming and nice with lots of selection. Everything from Spanish moss, fig trees, to cactus. Some barn animals live there and they also have some beautiful water features. An employee was very helpful and directed me further back on the property past the house to the cactus and succulent area where I was pleasantly surprised with some gorgeous cacti and succulents! I was mostly looking downward at the displays and I'm glad I also looked up because I found some golden rat tail cactus hanging above and it's a plant I have wanted for some time. They have wagons you can use to place your items on and it's a lush and relaxing place. I got some golden rat tail cacti and some succulents including a giant echeveria; I am so happy with my purchase and the employees were kind and helpful. The prices are good. I look forward to coming here again.

Visited this nursery for the first time this week, and I was so impressed (and bummed that I didn't make my way here sooner). They have an amazing selection of CA native plants and edible plants, and I love their "dig your own" concept to help reduce plastic. Everything was very affordable, too!

This nursery is so awesome. Love the care they put into their plants. I try to order ladybugs for my roses every couple years, helps with the aphids. Many organic supplements for your garden. I'm trying to make sure to keep all pesticides out and protect the butterflies and bees that visit my yard. There's a great selection of roses, butterfly and hummingbird plants. Pretty much anything you want in your garden they have. The compost is amazing they sell. Nice area for the little ones to visit too!

Nice place to buy garden products. You can take your kids to show farm animals. Food is also good and one can enjoy live music too

This nursery is ok, not very happy with taking a home a house plant that has an infestation of ants. The place could be way more tidier and in terms of what I have seen at other nurseries. They have some interesting varieties of herbs, but I probably won’t go back, had higher expectations.

What a neat experience this place was. It was very easy to find and plenty of parking. The place is huge and super cool! I was greeted by the owner, a very friendly and informative lady. This place has so many beautiful plants, soil, equipment and animals. There's a pair of parrots that were so pretty and bright. Along with chickens, goats, mini donkeys and calf. I will be back and try the food next door. If you are looking for the best plants, service and experience, this is it. So fun! Thank you for a great day.

This is a such a great place! Knowledgable, helpful staff; great selection and prices! On Sundays, they're open for online order pickup only and it's really well-done: you drive up and give them your name, pop your trunk, they put the order in & you drive off! Easy.

I am a lover of plants and plant nurseries and was very excited to finally make it to City Farmers nursery. It has an amazing selection of plants, probably the best veggie starts in the city (they appear to grow them themselves), a huge selection of fruit trees, and they even have true native plants. And it's great for kids - animals, trails, it's really a wonderful place. My only issue is that there is NO customer service. I saw several people who work there, no one said hi, asked if I needed help, and when I asked for help I couldn't really get any. So it's best if you already know what you want.
