Prices okay. Selection pretty good. Most fish are super duper young. Often literally large fry. Seems like you need to wait and grow most of the stuff you get from here or else the price tags gonna be a little shocking. All of that aside today i got some nice plants at a fair price. Very grateful 🙏

Absolutely outstanding shop!! Mitch was incredibly helpful after my boyfriend and I had a not so great experience at a big box pet shop and our Betta died in a day 😭.He took the time to walk us through our entire tank, gave us the materials we needed, gave us step by step instructions, and helped us pick out two beautiful new fish. We are so so happy with our new aquarium and fish and can’t wait to go back for more!!

2 hour drive to get there of course spent all of my budget and then some. Little sad, last time I was there they had the best assortment of African cichlids I've ever seen. This time they had cleared out quite a few tanks to make room to expand their salt water. Still had a nice selection and as I said I came home with a few big guys for 180 gallon tank.

This place has really cool fish! Reasonably priced, healthy, unique fish. I now come here for all of my new finned friends! This crab is so rad! He looks like a happy masked superhero.

Great large and local business with amazing selection of fish and fishy accessories, employees were very efficient knowledgeable and attentive, after several sightseeing trips they still hadn't kicked me out so I stocked my new aquarium today and I'm enjoying them rn. Highly recommend!

Ordered this beautiful powder blue tang for father’s day as a gift. Came the next day in great shape amazing coloring. If you get next to the tank she comes right out and does spins and swims back and forth for the kids such a great personality. We also got a little blenny but he’s still a little shy. I had some questions about acclimating them so i called. Actually spoke to a real person after two rings. That’s rare anymore. He was very polite and answered all my questions even the dumb ones. 100% will be ordering from them again soon. I’d give them 6 stars if i could they were so unreasonably nice.

This place is great! Stopped by just to check it out, very welcoming and friendly! My daughter is 2 and obsessed with fish she had a great time. We will definitely be going back once our tank is ready. We 100% recommend this place.

I’ve been to the store multiple times in the past couple weeks and if I could give them 100 stars I would. The Manager and staff are friendly, patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I’ve never seen so many different varieties of fish. This store is very well stocked, with good prices, and a military friendly store. I 100% recommend shopping here.

Found out about this place off a Facebook group and found the place very nice. Super clean tanks, variety of fish. Was greeted and walked around with Mitch while he showed me different fish and talked to me about tank size. Really nice guy and personable. Looking forward to going back to buy a few fish from there!

I just found this place. I have kept fish for decades, this is the best in San Diego, hands down. It turns out I knew both the owner (Ron) was extremely informative and friendly back in the day at Pet Kingdom, and Sam, whom i have met at several locations including conventions, both two of the best in San Diego. I didn't go to buy fish, but the prices and variety got me. I bought a dozen Cardinal Tetras and three dwarf gouramis. The selection was simply outstanding. Nice additions to my tank (last image).

OMG such an amazing store!! So many cool fish and invertebrates to choose from. And they're planted tank displays are beautiful to look at. The staff is also amazing, super friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I will visit her eevery time I come into town! Definitely worth the visit.

This place is legit. Ron has been in the game for over 40 years. He has quality fish and a gigantic selection. He also breeds a lot of his own fish. Definitely a step up from all the other fish stores.

This place is absolutely disgusting it's forced me to leave my very first review. Brought home a couple fish got black velvet in my entire tank destroyed everything I've worked hard on. Owners or owner don't seem to know much about anything stay away from this place far away

I have been impressed with AFD’s customer service and core values. I ordered a Radiant Wrasse and it came 2 days late because of UPS and its rain delays. That was completely out of their control. So naturally the fish came in stressed and not looking good. I immediately let them know and they were very responsive. The fish didn’t make it and they refunded me the money so I reordered the same fish and it came on time this time. I could really tell the quality of wrasse because it immediately started eating mysis. Typically wrasses go straight into the sand. This one was so healthy it started eating and you would never know it was the new fish in the reef by how well it got along with the rest of my wrasses. I am impressed with their customer service and core values of selling the consumer the most healthy fish possible. Many places don’t do that. I would really recommend them to anyone looking to add healthy fish to their reef.

5 Star rating based on friendly customer service (Thanks Vic) and the fact that they were the only aquarium in San Diego that had and provided free mosquito fish. With all the rain this winter I harvested over a hundred gallons of rainwater to water my power plants and now don't have to worry about contributing to mosquito problems. (Hate those evil little devils)Cheers.

Had a fantastic experience with Aquarium Fish Depot. I needed a new tank stand, and not only did they order the perfect option for me - they were also flexible with pickup time and helped me load it into my vehicle with their own ties. Everyone there is personable and professional with a great sense of humor. I can't wait for my wallet to cool off so I can take another trip over there. Nicest aquarium store in San Diego! They have everything from saltwater tanks, fresh water tanks. Rest assure that if buying a fish from there, they are healthy and ready for a new home. But most importantly is the people working there, constantly brain storming our problems and helping us get our fish tanks to the best running systems for our little or big fish. They have coral, and yesterday even two beautiful birds there. Take a drive it is well worth it.

We visited the Aquarium Fish Depot today andYesterday... The prices are fairly low.. I purchased 4 fish from a store in riverside and paid 2 times more than i did after visiting these guys... Huge selection of fresh water fish and even got this cute bonsai tree for our tank.. Check them out u can even purchase online and have them sent to u!! Almost forgot to mention Charlie.. One of the cutest lil dogs around.. Super cute super friendly...

If you’ve been thinking about stopping by this place all I can say is do it! This store has an amazing selection of freshwater fish and some very unique salt water fish. I came in looking for one particular fish after visiting so many other fish stores and my expectations weren’t high but low and behold I found my fish! I found two rare breeds of fish at an amazing deal. Mitch was amazing and so helpful. We drove 4 hours away from home to visit this store and were afraid the fish might struggle during the drive but Mitch packaged them with so much care, including providing extra oxygen in the bag to ensure our fish would be good for the long ride home. The drive was well worth it and I’ll definitely be making another trip out. The fish I purchased are healthy and high quality and have acclimated well to my tank. Thank you again for the amazing experience!

I got a new Betta fish here, very happy with the new addition to my aquarium family. They have a great selection of fish, and that goes for the Bettas too.(and he seems healthy as well) I also got a moss ball and some brine shrimp eggs. Seems to be a really well run place.
