True to the name, prices are low. Selection is pretty good, including fresh produces, meat, dairy, frozen and liquor. This store is in the armpit of downtown, and there are a lot of homeless and addicts around and in the store. You have to bag your own groceries after paying, you can bring your own bags. The place smells like bug spray and looks dirty. Lots of name brands and some cool items, like Key limes and a rather well stocked liquor section. Staff are friendly. ADA friendly, though I did not try the restroom. The place is kinda icky. Plenty of nicer stores a short drive away, hut if you need cheap or fast downtown, this is a decent store. Large. Nice parking lot. Right downtown.

Always clean and well stocked great produce their avocados are the best I've ever found so big an taste perfect priced so reasonable. I also love their hot food chicken strips are amazing different from the normal over breaded an over cooked strips usually provided . Friendly czashers an stockers. Ok there is a lot of homeless here but I mean that’s not the stores fault. I come here regularly and the staff are all super kind and the helpful. I always feel safe here. The prices are always low. You do have to bag your own groceries.

Never had a problem at this store until today. Make sure to check your receipts because they are over charging probably to pocket at the end of their shift. Then when you question them they get upset making it seem as it's your fault and they are doing nothing wrong.Michael was the cashier and Thomas was the manager.

I thought the homeless wait till you to walk out before asking you for change, now they do it WHILE you're shopping around. Awhile ago, someone was shot & it was surrounded by police. They need more security. Not a safe place to grocery shop.

3 cashiers for a lot of people , !! it’s insane .. the crew is very friendly I know they try their best and have the best attitude considering how overwhelmed it can get for them . The city should work more on handing the homeless out the store .Prices are great , food is decent and the quality is ok.

Come here just about every day on my way to work and grab something for my lunch, the market is clean, fruit and vegetables fresh and evrything but what I like the most is their upbeat attitude when they greet you with a great big genuine smile, it gives me a great start on my day!...thanks guys!!

This big store stays nice and clean at the heart of San Bernardino's old downtown. Usually busy, but the staff is great and more than capable of handling it and keeping the customers smiling.

Posting this just in case anyone gets sick. Last night I went in and their freezers didn’t seem to be working. Idk. My ice creams were all watery. Any explanation? I just hope no one gets sick and if you do- it could be because the temperature was not right especially for foods that require certain temps like meats. Hopefully the people in charge get that taken care of.

This is the most disgusting food 4l less I have ever been in. The store is nasty and smells like urine inside and out. The homeless are everywhere doing whatever they want. Security could care less about what's going on. The 2 or 3 times I have visited this location the lines are wrapped around the store because they only have 2 cashier working and they have no sense of urgency but why should they. The corporation obviously doesn't care because this has been a problem for years. Just being in this store makes me wanna go home and shower because I feel disgusting after shopping here. Something needs to be done immediately about this location. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!🤢🤮😵😵‍💫

This food 4 less is alright.Kinda shady in the parking lot as there are many homeless people and lots of druggies too.So be careful and lock your vehicle up.Now on to the inside-Produce for the most part is fresh and affordable.Meat selection is good when they have sells.Seafood isn't good here. (Nothing fresh)Dairy and eggs are well kept and always stocked.Most of their isle are fully stocked and well maintained.Employees are usually friendly and helpful.A few at night and early morning have attitudes, but I just smile and let them know I didn't piss in their cheerios. Then they usually apologize and have a new demeanor.Overall a decent grocery store.

Went to use the kiosk for the buy your phones and it didn't work... Ruined my day still got the phone and no money to pay for my bills.. Food4Less is a great place to shop around...

You're gonna need a bucket of hand sanitizer after walking out of this building. By far the most disgusting store I've ever been to. I'm fine with their ghetto customers and the homeless outside of the store...it's whatever but the lack of cleanliness is extreme. The carts, the conveyor belt at check out...they look like they haven't been cleaned for months. I'm not even a huge germaphobe! But I definitely feel unclean after being in that place.

The morning cashiers are friendly. Store itself is decent. However, the female security guard there is extremely rude. I’ve been going here over a year, so you think they would know me by now, but no. All I did was bring my small bag into the store, and she thought I was going to steal. I don’t steal, and never will. Instead of making a scene, I just walked out with her right behind me like some kind of animal. It’s not like I was bringing in some kind of wild animal, or firearms. Just my small bag. I am aware they have lockers there, but one is not going to buy a lock just for Food 4 Less. If I do that, then I have to walk to the entrance and then the exit all over again having to push through a line. My bag could be easily be stolen. Horrible, she’s out of shape and is the security. I, myself, have worked out over 365 days, so we are aware, who the better security guard would be for that store.

We went to get milk and baby food and the security guard refused to let us in at 9:50 pm stating the store was short staffed so they are closing early. Even though people where still walking around shopping not allowed to go in says the store now closes early. Guess must be 9:45 or 9:30pm would not say except shutting early for now on. So beware security will not let you in for 2 items.

So I left a car battery charger in front of the store. I called immediately and spoke with the manager. He went to see if it was still outside and it was. I was very grateful because I had just bought it because my car battery died. He put it in the safe and said I could pick it up whenever. I came the following Friday...gone...no sign of it. I was told management are the only people that had keys/access to the safe. I asked to speak with the manager and suddenly he was no longer at that location.

Store is a goshdamn nightmare. A lot of EBT Queens with the ghetto, holier than thou mindset. Only go here IF you have to, this store will drain you of energy from the people vampires as soon as you enter the parking lot, you've been warned ⚠️

Friendly service, good prices, I shop Alot here. That's why. 🙆 I love it. Nine years I've been coming here no problem until this one security guard started yelling at me in front of everyone, my son was scared he sat on the floor because he thought he did something bad. for what reason I don't know, he looked like he was on some kind of stupidity, drugs or he was not all there.He was tall and Africa American with black glasses on his head and a hat. I reported him already.

Great job by the ladies getting me in and getting me out . Cashier service was excellent no worries there but I wish Security will Patrol the parking lot go get baskets do something productive. He was not doing loss-prevention he was not keeping me safe what is his whole purpose. I will keep my business at the other location on Highland where the security is much more active and I can always get baskets when I need them. I have to hand carry items and was You by security as a thief.

They're open at 6am. And Have security inside the store and parking lot. There fruits and vegetables are cheaper than Staters Bros. Like bananas at S.B. cost 69 cents a lb. F4L. 49cents a lb. Its a very large store. Can buy in bulk. The restrooms need a code to use. Its fairly clean. And the employees are really nice.

I went to food for less Saturday and the line was all the way to Ross store. Robin the manager had everything organized and the experience was peaceful. I was glad because I had heard people was fighting over water. Robin gets 5 stars from me and deserves a raise or higher position. Food 4 less is lucky to have a woman like her that is strong and knows how to organize to keep regulars like myself safe. Thanks Robin I really appreciate you keeping your regular safe in a time of chaos .
