My spouse and I alternate pick up for orders we place while at work. Almost 90% of the time pick up times are fast with great alternative subs. Very little do I find bad quality or undesirable subs. I love couponing here and I love the quality of fresh foods and attentive staff.

My mom and I buy meat from here all the time. Every time we buy meat, we ask for the service of having it sliced. Which is a service that they “proudly” provide. But every time we ask, the response is always “our machine is broken “. Seems a little strange that it’s “always broken”. One time when they said it was broken, the gentleman acted like he was doing a favor by slicing it by hand but when he took it to the back , we could see him using the machine to slice it. If it’s a service they provide , whether the employees who work there want to do it or not , they should provide it. If not, don’t offer that service to any one across the board!

I won’t eat that sandwich that I bought from the deli of Forest Ave., Pacific Grove because I saw the guy who made it picked up something from the floor and dumped in the trash can then went back preparing my sandwich without changing his gloves. I should have said something but I didn’t it’s my fault. I’ll donate it to animals. Next time I’ll make my own…

My go to grocery store. the employees are Super friendly, the store is clean and orderly. They have a large variety of Food, From potato chips to expensive cheeses. they also have a decent deli selection. can you tell this is my regular grocery store?😘

We love the sushi bar inside Safeway at N. MAIN st in Salinas Ca. The sushi chefs are so amazing. They'll prepare you your favorite sushi if it's not already made. My daughter does not like to go anywhere else, and frankly neither do I. Try it, you'll be just as satisfied as us😊The whole Safeway team is simply amazing!

Don't by organic here...the berries are always moldy. I watched the guys set them out ...they don't even check...they rather sell them moldy than pull them. The kale had little bugs...I had to throw everything out.

Great ! Walked in at 5:30 am this morning for birthday stuff of course I was in and out. Staff working hard getting produce out for the day. Everyone was friendly despite of the early morning. Lady at register was very sweet. Liked that produce lady helped me in the balloon section until someone else helped me. I like when staff members or employees are cross trained none of this " it's not my job or I don't know how to do this" trying helps.

I just came from the Starbucks inside Safeway on north main street in Salinas just a little bit ago and ordered 4 tall pink drink, I felt bad for the girl that was working there all by herself, with no help, but I'm very proud of her because she held it down..... Great job and such a sweet person...... And she made our order great... I'll be definitely 😁 coming back. Because she gave everyone great customer service. All I ask is if you go there today be patient with her

Such a terrible experience at this location. I have never been disrespected at any establishment the way I was here . I was trying to walk out the store when an employee named Jessica approached me and told that the door I tried to exit was closed . I simply told her ok and was walking toward the other exit when she asked me "why you look all lost and confused for ?" In a very rude tone . Little did she know the night before I had got into a very bad car accident that totaled my car and left me with a concussion . So i responded well i got a concussion last night maybe that's why ? She seriously responded by saying well you should be in a hospital then and walked away . Very unprofessional to treat a customer that way all because my symptoms are still hitting me and I was spacing out I guess . I walked her way and asked if she can lead me to her manager because I didn't appreciate the way she was Disrespecting me for no reason and she began screaming at me telling me I'm wasting my time and they ain't going to do nothing . I couldn't believe it. A few customers witnessed to confrontation and they themselves found a manager a told them exactly what happened and it matches up to what I just wrote . I feel so unwelcomed at Safeway now it's totally unfair that as a 15 year customer that has spent a lot of money gets treated in such a inhumane way . Disappointed is a understatement. Jessica does not have the right to tell me such a rude comment all because I'm dealing with injury and I can't control the symptoms I'm having .

I just had the best experience at this Safeway. I had a return but didn't realize Customer Service opened at 8am. It was 7:45am. The manager still helped me and completed the return! I was surprisingly pleased because there are so many companies where employees will not work a second before their shift. Then I saw there was an ad for corn--15 cents each--so I bought six. At the cash register, I wasn't paying attention and just as I was inserting my credit card, the cashier Joanna said that I had to download the coupon to get the discount. I looked up and saw the corn cost almost $5 instead of 90 cents! Joanna said not to worry and she'd take care of it and fixed the price. WOW! Kudos to this Safeway!! Such great customer service in the morning made my day! :)

They didn't have what we were looking for. The produce guy there at the time was nice enough to check the back of the store where they store the food, to see if they had what we were looking for, but it was all gone. We ended up get some food from the deli. Great food.

No carts ever available. Have to walk around the parking lot to find. Nobody EVER present at the seafood area, even when you push the button for assistance no one comes. All the fish and meat do not look fresh, majority not good colors anymore.

I like coming to this Safeway & getting chicken tenders and potato wedges but there’s this older lady that works there and she doesn’t make me feel welcome. She always has the serious face on her and when she hands me my food she just looks at me with a serious face and hands it too me. I don’t like that at all makes me feel like she’s judging me and I don’t remember her name but next time I go I’ll have her name down here.

Too many young workers worried about their phones and don't seem to care about greeting customers at checkout. Some of them will actually carry on conversations with the "bagger" and won't address the customer up, and until, they have rung up all your items. Customer service is slowly dying.

This store is about a half hour drive from my home. I would love to do all of my grocery shopping here but considering the distance, current price of gas, and the fact that my only vehicle is old and has left me stranded a number of times this past year, I simply cannot shop here as often as I would like to. I have always been treated with respect and a smile . The security guard with the great personality ( tall black man who recently celebrated his 60th bday, forgive me for being bad with names) My last visit was on Fri July 08, 2022 sometime after 10:15pm. I walked in , the. Security guard smiled at me and said "good to see you again". I took a. Few steps, the cashier said "hello" and smiled at me. I did my shopping and got in line. As the friendly cashier was ringing up my items, I realized I only had 1 debit card with me, I forgot the other. I knew my prepaid debit card only had about $100 remaining. I removed some items before the cashier rang them up, totaling about $40. I put the items in the cart and apologized for not buying them. She was so kind and understanding. I felt terribly embarrassed having to do that with atleast 5 or 6 people in line behind me. The gentlemen who was behind me reached for the cart I had just pushed aside " will you please allow me to pay for these items for you?". This had never happened to me before. I was tongue tied. The shoppers waiting in line had huge smiles across their faces. " I dont know what to say, this has never happened to me before". A couple of young looking women said " say yes". He smiled at me and said " how about yes please". "Yes, please". As he paid the cashier, I thanked him . " You are very welcome. Maybe you can do the same for someone else one day,have a great evening" and went on his way as I waited for the cashier to bag my groceries. According to the cashier, he shops there frequently and has done this numerous times for other shoppers. Such a generous thing to do for a complete stranger- I dont know your name, but I hope you read this - thank you so much for your kindness. That day wasn't one of my best. You did more then pay for groceries. There are good people out there, even in Salinas, Ca. I will be paying it forward. Thank you.

Horrible Horrible employees! They have minors serving alcohol, and allows employees to cuss at, provoke, and threaten customers and does nothing about it. Been going there for 30 years! Will NEVER go back after how I was treated by underage staff, and management!!

Bakery is very helpful do wish they had more in the book. But love the pastries they have on display to be bought. Love the smell of fresh cooked bread here. Love to go to the deli and get sushi and sandwiches here. Love the 5 meet sandwich here AMD the sushi here is amazing. On holidays they are very busy but that's to be expected

Parking is not too bad as the neighboring businesses are pretty well equipped with their own parking spaces. Location is really convenient for residents from West Laurel all the way the other direction to Russell Rd. The store itself is welcoming with the smell from their Starbucks. The deli always has fresh foods and there's a fresh sushi area too. Isles are refreshingly always stocked clean and clear. And upon exiting the Wells Fargo customers are quickly taken care of. Checkers are very friendly and helpful....although they need to open more isles...long wait every time!! But nice clean store.

Bought a small cake with cupcakes on top .. the cupcakes where hard and dry you could tell they where old then the bottom cake taste like old freezer .. I was so disappointed and the manager acted like it was no big deal . Never apologized .. please make sure the bake goods are not old before u buy them

My experience here has not been good. There are long waits in the check out lines. The cashiers are not very personable. The seafood deli people aren't in their work area. You have to page them. At least the products on the shelves look good and we'll stocked and the produce looks good. The prices look fair.

Organized and clean store. I typically have no issues finding what I'm looking for. During one of my last visits, the checker could use some training on customer service. I asked her if she was open and she just pointed to her lane number. I orignally questioned because she was half out of her area and talking to a few other people.Anyway, for reasons like this I usually use self checkout.

The store is usually well stocked and clean. The only issue I had was Rose in self check out; She was very rude to an older Asian woman who seemed to be struggling with the self check out machine. Rose said to her in a very rude voice that “This is self check out and you need to learn how to use it.” The older woman seemed like she spoke little English and, as a Mexican American woman, I feel she could be more compassionate as an employee. Every one should be treated with respect and as a person running the self check out, it is your job to help when it is needed.

My grocery bill is usually a bit higher here, but the meat quality and selection is much better than Walmarts. There have been some great sales on choice steaks lately so I recommend Safeway if you're going to BBQ
