GREAT SELECTION OF LIVE FISH BOTH FRESHWATER AND SALTWATER. Heres where they go down hill though. The younger gentlemen who works here in the fish section is a robot. He purposely makes no eye contact. I had to go up to him and ask for help... He has his ear buds in also...very unprofessional. No personality whatsoever... Asked him a few questions his answers were short and brief. Not trying to be rude but Im not sure maybe he has social anxiety or somthing... Still not a good customer service rep... And he should maybe work in the back where he has no interaction with anyone. Because it sure seems like thats what he wants anyways, with his non-approachability, ear buds in, non eye contact behavior.

Tall white soyboy Assistant Manager is the worst. Made a wrong purchase and would not refund me. He was rude, the worst customer service I've hade in 15 years shopping here. I now go to petsmart for all my needs.

we came down from santa cruz looking for an angelfish, and left with not only the perfect angel but some other stuff also!! the staff is so knowledgeable and you can tell they truly care about what they do. this has absolutely been THE BEST experience shopping for aquatics that I've ever had, I don't think I'll be going anywhere else from now on! Josh helped me out and answered all of my questions with patience and a great attitude. the tanks were so clean and the fish were all extremely healthy!! thankful I got to work with Josh and I learned a few things also!I'd definitely check them out if you're looking for a reliable place to get any aquatic life!

I love Pet Fun. This place is always exceptional, this is my go to pet store. I am here on a biweekly basis to stock up on my dog food and the staff is always so friendly and willingly to help. Joshua was kind enough to even carry out the dog food for me. He has great customer service! I also love that the store is always stocked up and so clean. I highly recommend supporting this business. Nice selection of dog products and the only place in Salinas where saltwater fish and corals can be bought. Many items are often more expensive than online retailers but when you need something urgent you can get it here. Cashiers are by the most part nice, but giving only 3 starts since a middle-aged female cashier is usually pretty rude.

The front manager older gal blonde ish hair very rude no patience with customers. I had some rewards on my account from shopping here very often and she didn’t want to use in my purchase. Also think they maybe should update there system when taking down your name and then they say back your adress in front of customers very outdated system. Won’t be shopping here anymore waste of time…..

Great selection of fishes and greet selection of tanks and decor for the inside of the tank. The rocks for the tanks are half the price from pet smart so I would come here for them. They are 3.99 for the first size of the two sizes the carry while pet smart has it for 5.99. same size everything. Employees are quiet knowledgeable on the fishes and how to take care of them. My favorite place to shop for my pets.

The only reason I’m giving two stars is because there are a few really great, kind, educated employees in this store. I moved here about 7 months ago. Since learning that the store is locally owned, I’ve gone to Pet Fun for ALL my pet needs. “Shop locally owned”However, recently, things have gotten pretty bad. Rude staff, expired items, dying fish. It’s really sad. I hope things can turn around for the store. The employees have mentioned that the store is struggling and that “the fish department is going down hill, slowly but surely.” I understand that that can be hard. However, it doesn’t justify being rude and slacking off. I’ve always sucked up the extra cost to shop local. It just isn’t worth losing my money over their carelessness.

the staff is really friendly and always ready to offer advise and recommendations. They have been really helpful in giving me advise on how to care for my first dog, and what kind of toys to use and things like that. plus i really like their fish section, its pretty cool.

Prices are more expensive. My advice is if you have a toy dog and you're buying $22 bags of dog food 2.5 pounds then just buy the 14 pounds same brand bag for 50 bucks. I have 2 yorkie and for 3 months I was buying the 22 dollar bag thinking I was saving money 💰. It's these type of deal or purchases the staff should help loyal customers to save us money.

friendly staffers, and nice selection of products that are always in stock. they carry some unique brands/specialty items that can be a bit pricey, but they're high quality and unavailable in-store elsewhere. always come here for all my fish or rodent needs

So happy I found this place after adopting two abandoned four-week-old kittens. They were having tummy troubles and eating their litter, and the staff directed me to the right food, suggested adding canned pumpkin to their diet, and gave me a non clumping kitten litter made from corn which is safe in case they eat it. Thanks Pet Fun! The caring and genuine customer service will keep me coming back.

Ok, wow. Prices are the best I've seen on dog food (nearly $10 cheaper on my Taste of the Wild bag) and received my delivery the day after I ordered it. I live in Monterey so never made it out to the actual store until I heard they deliver now also. Thank you Pet Fun for truly being the best local pet store around!

Prices are a little high on some things but that's just what some businesses have to do to survive. Kristine and Shelly are a big help and very friendly. Located in the Walmart parking lot by Jack in the box.

They need to update the hours on the Google business profile because it says that on Saturday they open at 10, and the store opens at 9:30 so that’s an inconvenience because I waited a whole 30 mins in my car thinking that they open at 10 am and then I read the hours by the store front and it said 9:30, so the boss needs to get it together

I enjoy the customer service and the animals there that's why the 5 star rating. However, I do want to inform anyone who's thinking about purchasing LED lights for their aquarium to double check the color (since some don't mention what color LED lights they have on the packet) and DO NOT submerge it into water. If you do you will not get a refund. I learned that the hard way and I'm a little sad by it but it's ok things happen. I still recommend this store for purchasing needs.

I wish I could give this place less stars.It's hard to begin, this place is so bad.Let's start with the prices. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is 20% 30% more expensive than you can kind anywhere else. Food, toys, you name. Go here if you like to pay more, I guess.Next let's discuss the staff, if you can find them that is. They are never around. If you are lucky enough to track one down, they are too incompetent to be of any help. And that is if they are not down right rude to you.I could go on and on, the poor quality of their products, the lack of cleanliness of the store (it stinks bad), it's a very long list. I'm not sure how this pace has so many positive reviews. New management maybe?Anyway, I'd a void this place at all costs.
