Purchased some drain pipe found it on line ace hardware for the boronda store 16.99 each so the counter person rings it up i ask him don't you need to scan it no I know what it is he rings up 165 dollars so I show him the ad on my phone he argues with me its not the same pipe I show him the part # on pipe is same as ad so he rerings it up so now there 20.99 a piece and that they don't honor the ads on line that I could order them directly from ace co and they will mail them to me. The only reason I went to this ace was that they had them in stock otherwise I would of went to the best ace hardware on south main where they no how to treat there customers with dignity and respect I will never go there again

It's ok. I don't understand why the employees constantly are asking you if you need help.. they act like if your going to steal something . Then when I do ask them , they don't know nothing , or they say whatever is on the shelf man ..They are not trained to give any advice on repairs ..it's so obvious .

Worst customer service of any ACE store in Salinas and Monterey County. The incompetence of each and every employee, including management, at this store is astounding. Avoid this store. My father went in to purchase a light bulb and the staff ignored him and went about talking about personal things in the store and when he asked for help they pretend to look for the item he wanted but instead put the item back on the shelf and continued to ignore him. Then they proceeded to throw him out the store because he got upset. The manager got into it with him and instead of de-escalating the situation both managers on duty made the situation worse by telling him to leave. My father shops at this ace regularly about 5 times a week because we live nearby and this is how this store treats a regular customer who is a veteran by the way. The lack of respect this store shows to its customer is despicable.

Unbelievable. I call at 7:40 PM because my kids car breaks down on the highway. We’re road tripping them to college and it’s not drivable without a bolt. I see they close at 8 and I let the guy know the situation and that google says I’ll arrive at 8:02. He tells me he closes at 8 and he doesn’t care. I arrive at 8:01 and he closes the door in front of me, smiles, and locks it. I have no words for that level of behavior. If Ace hires employees like this I’ll never shop here again.

Poor customer relations today . I was looking for a Dremel part, located in a locked case, and the man who pulled it off the peg and gave it to me...no problem. The price on the peg was $3.99. However, the female cashier, who rung it up says it was $7.99. We both went back to the case, I told her where it was located, but she found the correct peg and wouldn't sell it to me for the lower price, knowing the stocker put it in the wrong location. It is not my fault, the stocker doesn't take pride in his work. I will be back to this Ace location.

I needed to return an item that I had purchased from another ace store but they wouldn't accept it bc the owner's don't like each other, so they made it store policy not to accept from each other's stores. I now feel like I have to choose sides next time I go.

If I could rate any less I would and let me tell you why...their motto that ace is the place with the friendly helpful face is a lieMy husband just went into the store cuz he needed a lock cylinder like many times before he has gone to the ace for hoses for our water heater or for a copy of our car or house key.Today he was in the store and asked where the lock cylinders were and was told he had to leave cuz the salesman said he didn't feel safe with him in the store. He was shocked and stunned by what he said that he asked him,"what did you, say are you serious?" So the guy said,"just leave cuz you're making me scared" so my husband left as he was followed out.He just got home and was very upset. He has never had anything like that happen to him ever. He says he feels embarrassed and hurt because he has been to that store many times with my father with my mother with me and by himself. My parents have had an account with ace for many many years and my mom said she doesn't want to have an account with any store that discriminates you by your looks. The guy who said he fwas scared was way bigger than my husband because he is only 5'5" and maybe 140lbs. He didn't go into ACE making a scene or being loud or acting suspicious, he went in and asked where the cylinders were located and was asked to leave because this guy felt scared. I am shocked and appalled because my husband is Hispanic and so was the guy that works at ACE hardware at 1561 n sanborn rd.ACE is the place with the helpful hardware man... I don't think so more likeACE IS THE PLACE WITH THE DISCRIMINATING RACIALLY JUDGMENTAL FACE!And right now im on my way over there to speak to the manager.

I just left the store had to call the police on the store manager Eric I am in disbelief how he talks to ppl, he threatened to slap me I will not let this go he needs to be immediately fired treating customers with such disrespect and threats.
