I loved going here as a kid, and now as a 19 year old (turning 20 in October), I still loved going here. Sad to see the 99 has gone out of business.P.S. screw you for putting my favorite childhood stores out of business, Jeff Bezos 🤡🤡🤡

Very good deals. Amazing prices and friendly staff. I went grocery shopping on Friday morning and was greeted by a very nice woman at the register named Brenda. She was very friendly and gave me a nice compliment as well. Made my day :) keep up the good work.

I loved the store until after I paid for a cart full of stuff. I couldn't take the cart out of the store to put my purchase in my vehicle. Their reasoning for this is that Salinas has a homeless problem & the people keep stealing the carts. There are better ways of dealing with the theft of carts other than attaching a twenty foot pole to the cart so it can't go through the door. The 99cents only store USED to be my favorite $$ store. I will never go back after being laughed at by the cashier.

They need to change the name of the store. Only about 10% of the items are below 99 cents. They do have some good deals on some items and a nice selection for Holiday decor, but I feel that the prices are not aligned with the quality of the items. It's just as convenient to just shop at Walmart, Target (especially for food items), or even Dollar General, Family Dollar, or Dollartree. Used to love this place... not anymore.

Great prices many items to choose from and what I liked about 99 cent store is as soon as you walk in there is a presence of security with a security guard on site. Here in Salinas California they have a great staff team member outstanding job keep up the good work. This is my go-to place to pick up peanuts and drinks and other things for our home. November 5 2023 went to purchase a few items we need for our home & our vehicle and the workers are very helpful with their communication and the restrooms were working that was a plus we really appreciate the 99 cent store in Salinas California thank you staff for making her evening exceptionally Pleasant.

The store is great ever since they open, but they need security all day because I ve seen big tall fat coward s shoplifting like around 10am. They need security for all customer s to be safe and cash registers and protect the inventory as well.😞

Can't take shopping carts out of store. Be prepared to carry it all - bring bags big enough for larger items. No one warns you. You just find out while your shopping or checking out. Food was expired or went bad quickly. Most of it was same price as Walmart and Walmart is even slightly better quality. I do like the arts amd crafts sections, home and party decor. Cheap let toys, water bowls, etc. Lots of great cleaning supplies. I got hairdye from there and face scrub too. Kleenex, deodorant. All that hygiene stuff is a good deal too.

The 99 Only Store is a great store for bargain hunters. The only downside is that the selection can be hit or miss at times. You could find almost everything here no matter what occasion it is. It's a big store comparing some of the other stores in the south bay. The workers here are nice and friendly.

Yeah, I'll try to become the Salinas to the 99 cent store, the corporate office does not care if people come in that store and still merchandise out of the store they would not hire no security guard they would not put no cameras in there, nothing homeless people are going to steal in homeless. People are outside with the toys rat, smoking crack pipes.

So much of their products are no longer 99c. They need to do a better job at marking the price. Out of the seven items I purchased, only one of them was 99c. The rest were 2.99, 3.99, etc. False advertising and not a good shopping experience.

Right now is my favorite time of the year for this store because they have the best stuff for Halloween. The decorations that they carry can't be found anywhere else and talk about bargains you'll be able to go all out for the trick or treaters this year

Always a fun place to go. They always keep a good selection of cleaning supplies, food, OTC meds and I always like all the gadgets they sell. My favorite gadget of late is the small clip on night light that works amazingly well. I clip it to my laptop for late nite web browsing since I'm a no see keyboard no type guy. I started to give this store 4 stars because of the sometimes long line waiting on a single cashier, but that 5th star goes to all the cashier's there cuz they keep that line moving really fast.

Anything you can think of you’ll find it here. Service is good, most of the time store is clean, they get busy on weekends so is normal if store gets dirty, people leave stuff every where, that happens in every store. The location is good, not to crowded. Parking lot is big enough you’ll always find parking spaces available.

This store has gotten worse over the years. The store is clean and well organized. But on the weekend is sometimes worse than Ross and Walmart no cap.. waited over 40 minutes as they were only 2 registers open and it took them like 20 minutes to open 3rd. On a Sunday ? this is not good service. Is modern slavery. Won’t be coming back. Yo manager is obvious you like seeing people miserable.

Disappointed they're not keeping the store as tidy as and organized as they once did. Baskets were not available, few cashiers. it wasn't bz! so I guess that was not a big deal. The fresh food products were not being preserved.

I wouldn't want to live in a city without one. Fresh fruits and veggies.Also brand named items for a buck. Shelves well stock and neat. Never had any problems there.

Took someone to this store but I NEVER go inside 😝☠️ place is TOXIC.There's parents that take there kids there and it seems they let them lose to run, no respect for others. They drop stuff on the floor and not pick it up.They say to just leave it on the ground there is staff that get paid to pick it up.SORRY I don't enter the store.A sign should be at the store that reads; "ENTER at you own risk".☠️

This is my favorite store to discover some deals and fun items...Stop there daily on my way home.....The only problem is having to deal with the most unprofessional, untrained,rudest, low quality employees beginning from management...Cashiers do not hand your items they place them behind the counter between the mess...Quite often I have gone home missing an item...If you call you get the rudest Manager who puts you on hold for over 25 minutes never returning with an answer...I have lost many dollars due to the fact that to go back to talk to the Manager who puts your experience in doubt and you get nothing, cost more money on gas than the cost of the missing items.Hopefully this store will hire better employees trained to deal with customers in a more respectful manner.

You see everything's good at the 99 Cent Store except when you go there is like only one cashier some of the staff there have bad attitudes you know when you stand in line they turn the light off they say oh you got to go to the next line do you have to stand in a line is from the cashier always to the back and you just have to wait wait and just get tired of it you just walk out

We came to get bags and wrapping paper for Christmas gifts. Twelve bucks later, we're all set. It can get pretty busy during the holiday rush, but even with a hectic crowd, we were in and out quickly. The cashier treated us well. No complaints, I'll be back.

Very familiar with the store. Walking distance. Usually I'm target specific when I go there and being familiar I'm not surprised if it's hammered! Truly it's not a 99 cent store anymore. For the most part it is, but some merchandise if sold at 99 cents, I'd be ripping them off! LOL
