I saw lots more animals in this Petco than in any other pet store in the Sacramento area in recent months. However, this also could be why the store smells a more pungent animal odor too!The store looks decent inside and out. The cashier gave me a nice greeting when I walked into the store. I saw lots of full of energy animals in the store. I believe they are receiving good care. The checkout line was very fast. I have no problem getting parking near the store. I like the store even if it smells a little animal odor!

Some of the store employees lack knowledge can be rude. Veterinary services are subpar. My dog was allowed to suffer over the weekend and die because of a refusal of a simple prescription for IV fluids from Dr Victoria Smith. If you love your pets don't take them to Vetco. As you can see my pet was up walking around find 2 weeks ago and this is how he is life ended today

A bit more pricey than petsmart but they have a better selection of clothing and harnesses. We have a tiny lil guy thats to big for the extra small and to small for the regular small. But ì did find him a SF giants jersey here and a harness at another location.

Stan Lee the German Shepard needed more kibbles. He was welcomed with warm greetings. The store was well stocked for Christmas. Prices are reasonably priced.Stan Lee and his side kick, Jojo.

Bought a new aquarium 29 gallons(no lid), Petco had a great deal @ $46(after tax)! I broke, my 20 gal, while cleaning it. Plus, my fish, just keeps growing, so he needed something bigger, I'm sure, he is now HAPPY, I broke his old tank! I created/made PROBLEMS, with my ONLINE ORDER & PETCO store employee, quickly fixed/corrected it, she got me the right item, cancelled wrong one. PETCO lady also helped load my HEAVY PURCHASE, into my trunk. 10 STARS FOR HAVING RESTROOMS, FOR US CUSTOMERS!

It's ok as a general pet store, unfortunately variety for aquarium and fish very limited. Workers are somewhat friendly if u get lucky to find one there, whenever u need help with something. If u want something special and unique, I would definitely go to places like exotic aquarium, or splash aquarium....

I enjoy looking at the birds but they only had one green cheeck conure that looked awfully lonely. But very cute though . I buy my birds their food and some toys that are on clearance. Staff has always been very nice, I have no complaints .Store is always very clean and I enjoy peoples dogs when they bring them with them shopping. I have been coming her to this store for several years.

I love going to Petco!! And so does my puppy. The staff are very knowledgeable when it comes to animals. The staff are also very congenial and will help you with everything you need.

The staff is great, i baswd the 5 star rating on them...my only minus is your store does not have shopping carts. I would have purched the 45 lb bag but it's too heavy to carry from the back of the store to the front then to my car.

I shop at this store often. However, my son had a terrible experience last week when he and a few of his black friends went into the store to see what new items the store recently stocked. Please keep in mind that my son recently purchased a snake, cage, items for the cage, and snake food. I'm constantly purchasing items for my dogs and turtle.I receive a phone call from my son and he was furious. He said "mom, you will not believe this, my friends and I are being followed in the store. Just to be sure we even split up just to be sure we weren't imagining this and we were still followed." I told him to immediately report it to the manager. He asks for the manager and the Manager Nate Bennett comes to the front and was laughing. This was the same man who followed my son and his friends. They ask "why were you following us?" He said I was just moping and doing my job.My son and his friends recorded the incident, reported it to Corporate and now waiting on a response. Every black person does not steal, every black person, isn't ghetto, every black person isn't disrespectful, NO black person should automatically be suspicious just because of their race.This was completely unwarranted and upsetting on so many levels. Nate Bennett should be ashamed of himself and should at least apologize for his actions and learn from it. Our experiences over these last 5 plus years have always been great, however, this incident has me furious.

I brought my highly anxious dig in for vaccines. The check-in for the appointment was flawless. The team of three giving the shots were amazing. They knew he was scared and took all the time he needed to calm him down. Amazing. The man at the register completed my trip with his knowledge and competence. Even though it is a good distance from my home; it is my new go to pet supply store.

Do not take your pets here for the grooming sessions! They literally are not any good with cutting their nails! The lady who "trimmed" my dogs nails literally cut less than 1/8" off and charged me $14.00 to do so! That was even AFTER I had asked her to get them as SHORT AS POSSIBLE!! If I was able to give -5 stars I would have!!! Trust me!!

I can't believe Petco and the cashier. I took my 2 daughters ages 5 & 6 to get beta fishys. They picked out all their little aquarium items they wanted and a plastic tank. We get to the register to pay and the cashier guy with long ponytail tells us that do we know we cant put the fish in those tanks, i said no i didnt know that. He tells us that he cant sell us the fish if we dont have a proper tank. He tells us we need a 5 gallon tank for the beta yet i see you have betas living in a little cup and 2 were dead on your shelf. How ridiculous 🙄 your store literally had dead fish floating but cant sell me 2 betas for my girls on their birthday? SMH I WILL NEVER SHOP AT PETCO AGAIN. I feel discriminated against. He didnt know if i had a tank at home or not. Smh thanks for ruining my girls birthday gift

Got a female betta fish for $4 here a week ago and so far she's doing good in her 5-gallon tank. Came back today to get her some live plants and a snail buddy. I had a good experience with Nick. I came for a mystery snail, but there weren't any more so he suggested I get a nerite snail instead and gave me some useful information. Looking forward to coming back in the future for fish supplies.

Parker is the best! He always helps me out to my car with cat litter. I usually have 2 to 4 refills, adding up to about 70lbs just for 2 pails. You can't take the cart outside, so I appreciate the help out. It's the little things that make it special.

Watch sale tags and item tags close. First thing, saw filter system priced real good. The tag described it, but said cartridge. For that reason I compared barcode numbers and the filter was actually in the place for the replacement cartridges. Glad I looked first.Then, tag on Rosie minnows said buy 3 get 1 free. I bought some and didn't get a discounted. Went back in and was told the tag expired the day before. Then was told that it's against their policy to adjust the price when they don't take sales tags down, that it's up to the shopper to read the fine print. If I knew they weren't on sale I would of gotten them at PetSmart.Won't shop that store again nor refer any one to that store.

Ho.. yea.....one day my pet surfer abdominal pain .. I'm frustrated.. soon I cross the door. I saw a young lady and I sk her. How I get some help she . immediately gives me a really important information. She so Cain.. thanks for that suggestions my pet she feels so grateful thanks. She suggested probiotics and something else.. thanks my be some little isier but help me alot..

Great costumer service! My husband and I were looking for a bearded dragon when we finally met ours in this store. Cortnie was great and very informative. Provided us with some instructions on how to care for him and as well signed us up for Vital Care. Way to go in this location, the entire team seemed to be cool and outgoing, treating costumers with care.

Went there looking to buy a dog tag and found one that I liked, plus a bag of dog treats for our furry friend. Unfortunately, they were too hard for her to chew since she's old. Grooming for DogThey do a nice job. Sandy loves them. They did just increase the price $5 from a month ago.Updated 5/11/23Picked up my pup today. I am so DISAPPOINTED! She was still wet! Feet, chest. Lame answer, oh she might of played in water...BS. she doesn't do that, she won't even play in kiddy pool at home! She didn't smell clean, I sniffed her head, doggy smell..I didn't see my regular groomer there, some new person.. 58$ for just wetting my dog? Nails were clipped.
