I've been sitting on this since it happened and honestly I feel it would be an injustice to my puppy if I didn't warn others. Saturday 4/7 I took my dog to get groomed and he normally comes here religiously every three weeks with the same person. I won't be saying names as I hope she can take this a learning lesson. We were loyal to her and I'm still shocked this happened. We had an appointment booked at 10 AM. My girlfriend brought him in and she just asked that our groomer cut a little bit shorter on his legs because a lot of little things get stuck in them. Our groomer agreed that she wouldn't go shorter than a level 4 because there's no need for it. Keep in mind we only mentioned his legs. He's there for three hours and when he's ready to get picked up, she calls me and tells me he was matted, but she'll talk to me when I get there. I wouldn't ever imagine what the outcome really was. My girlfriend picks him up and our groomer explains herself for why she had to go basically to the bone bald which is claiming he was matted and then decided to bring him out after which felt like she was hiding him. My dog is like my child he gets brushed daily. The only areas he was matted honestly was under his armpits, which I usually handle at home, but I haven't had the time to cut myself. For him to be practically bald is insane, considering we go every 3 weeks that would be impossible for him to get that severely "matted" for this haircut to be necessary. Better yet I had brushed through his entire hair the night before so I definitely would have known. I would've appreciated honesty rather than an awful excuse. So in my eyes, three things could've happened. 1, he moved so she had to go bald. 2, she messed up so she had to go bald or 3, some random person who I didn't book with, cut him and they don't know what they're doing. To say it was because he was matted is so far from the truth and obviously not the case. For the future I hope they can have the most bare minimum decency to call the owner before making such a rash decision. That should've been up to me to decide. If you can't take on the job you could've called me. If you're on a time crunch, let's reschedule. Anything but making him bald would've been better. It's only day 1 and he's wearing sweaters in 70 degree weather because he's shaky from being cold and people are asking if I just got him from the shelter. His hair gave him personality, it made him, him. It'll grow back but it is the principle of it all. He's only 6 months and it's safe to say he'll be traumatized for a while. I'm so disappointed and I should've left a long time ago. To support a chain like this, they will eventually stop caring. Spend the extra money to get it done locally with someone who actually cares about your pet. There's plenty of places and I wish I left before this happened.

We love this PetSmart!! My husband and I are locals and come here all the time! The staff knows us by our golden retriever everytime we come in! All the employees are super nice and helpful! We love PetSmart!! Also, if you’re not a treats member, GO SIGN UP!!! You make so much back (saving so much) as well as earning money back and it adds up so quickly!! We wish you had a petsmart credit card as well and we love being customers here!

Have had our poodle pup Bentley groomed her twice now. Each time has been a positive experience. Becca A. listens to our needs and delivers. Our pup looks amazing and just what we asked for. Hard to find a good groomer. I highly recommend Petsmart for your grooming needs!!

Warning, I took my dog to Pet Smart in Rohnert Park, for a typical grooming, and 18 hours later I was forced with the difficult decision to euthanize her. When I went to pick up my pet, the groomer immediately began to chastise me for her being “overgrown” (sidenote I found this groomer had similar reviews after researching), and that she had “some matting in her paws,” so she “really had to get in there.” Although it had been a few months since her previous grooming; the way she spoke to me was awful. On the way to the car, I noticed that my pet seemed “off” and was limping. By the next morning my pet could not walk and was shaking. I took her to the emergency vet and was told that most likely some action had caused her to jolt, and a disc in her spine had slipped, causing a spinal cord injury, causing paralysis in her back legs. Our pet was perfectly fine prior to this visit. Pet Smart states that they have cameras in the grooming area in order to assure Pet parents, however they will not release or even let you view such footage, without a lengthy process. When I was able to view the footage, it was in a small office (with poor quality footage), with two managers over my shoulder. While viewing the footage I saw many incidents when the groomer appeared to be overly assertive with our animal, causing her to sit down appearing to be in pain, before she would immediately pop her back up to resume grooming. Although I have attempted to try and find some resolution with Pet Smart, they have only been willing to reimburse me for grooming, and our vet bill, as an “act of good faith.” I have had an interactive dialogue with their “Pet Advocate” over the last month, explaining all of the details, as well as the lengthy documentation I have, to no avail. Essentially, it’s “sorry for your loss.” Please beware if you are considering taking your pet to this establishment.

We were adopting a new kitty and went in to get supplies. I found that they didn't have all the things we wanted for our new cat. Inventory was low. We just went to that pet site and got the other things we needed.

Lots of choices to chose from. They also have new cats every Saturday so it's always a treat to see new cute fluffy faces. The place is massive and very clean. Im always excited to look around

I don't find many differences between PetSmart and Petco. Good pet accessories and services. I have heard AMAZING experiences at this PetSmart for their grooming services. I might have to try it out one day for my dog Rosie. This location sells out of things regularly. Call ahead or look at their website for the best prices and the clerk will adjust it in store! (Also, there's a fun Big Lots nearby, a great movie theater plus Chuck e Cheese!)

Nice people. i bought some flea and tick medication for my cat that did not work. They happily told me to bring it back and we will give me a refund. I just have to keep my receipt, but she told me that when I bought it to make sure if it did not work I would be able to get my refund, good wide selection of stuff as well. And it’s local!!

This is the only place I can find Nulo Medal Series dry cat food. I have four cats, so its important to find a good quality cat food that they will all eat. It is hard to shop there sometimes because they have dog/puppy/cat /kitten adoptions there and I have had to talk myself out of bringing more pets home 🙂 good selection of food/toys/supplies etc.Helpful employees and a good selection of Halloween costumes and clothing for pets as well ( I used a hoodie for my cat after his surgery, it keeps your pet from scratching areas on the neck/back and its easier to get in and out of the litter box than if you put a cone around their neck!)

I felt as though they were unprofessional here. We brought paperwork proving our dog was up to date on her rabies shots, and they turned us away and they didn't even know our dogs name even after we talked on the phone the night before when we made an appointment!? They need to be a little more precise about things when the customer makes an appointment.

Seems quality of the food is not what it used to be. The new manager is very receptive and kind. He cares deeply about customer service and the servers do their best. We ate at the Petaluma Cattleman's. It is always busy so a lot of people still enjoy the ambience,as do l.

We need more groomers in this area. Petsmart is the only one that can give a reasonable appt. So far 3 out of 5 cuts were just okay - nothing to right home about, but today an absolute YUK. This is supposed to be a "short teddy" face cut. The person on intake asked all the right questions, but I didn't see hide nor hair of her on pickup. Then my other short hair was suppose to get the "furminator" treatment. What a joke. I have a furminator at home and I have done a better job. As I was leaving I started pulling out tufts of his fur from the back of his legs and just leaving it on the floor for them to sweep up. While waiting to pick up my dogs I was watching one of the groomers use a small furminator on an 80 lb black lab mix with medium length fur. Give these kids some training! They are clueless.

This place is great! Huge selection of toys, habitats, treats, and more! Staff is super friendly and their groomers are amazing! I have an extremely sassy fur baby and Karen in their grooming department does an OUTSTANDING job with him! Super patient and kind! Can't say enough great things about this place!

I got my 2 guinea pigs there and they're the love of my life!! Peggy (the brownish one) bites a lot which is not normal for a guinea pig to bite but she's still ab amazing little piggy!

The people who work here are dedicated and love animals just like you and I. That being said, they are not poorly priced. Although I would never say they're affordable. Overall a great experience, keeps me coming back.

This is the first time I've taken Winnie, my Scottish terrier to Petsmart for grooming. Melissa was her groomer and did an excellent job. Winnie looks amazing.

I used their order online service today. I got to the store 3 hours after I ordered and I knew it wasn't ready because I hadn't gotten the email saying so. The gentleman inside let me pick up what I ordered and found me later to give me the order summary. 2 more employees also confirmed the order pick up. My only draw back and reason for the 3 stars is the online ordering system states 2 hours for orders to be ready. When 3 employees helped me retrieve my 1 item order I wondered where that hassle was beforehand.Keep in mind the traffic at this store in Rohnert Park might be greater but I definitely like to use the order ahead while at the Kenilworth Drive PetSmart in Petaluma because they are so on top of it there!

No grooming service. Made an appointment and they canceled the Day it was supposed to be. They offer me a reschedule 20 days after appointment. Poor service.
