I was in the store yesterday picking up a coconut cake I ordered a few days ago. The Baker was already gone for the day so when I picked it up, it wasn’t what I expected. I stared to get very upset!!! I expected it to have coconut all over the outside, but it looked like a basic white cake. (Long back story about the coconut cake… too much to type) Anyway, I started to get upset with the nice young lady so she got the manager… Serena (spells it differently). Serena listened to me complain and she calmed me down! Since we were not sure if it was a white cake or a coconut— she gave me the cake for free! Great customer service!!!Update— it was coconut 🥥 and it was delicious!!! 😊🎂

Food is often left expired on the shelf in every department, new employees what feels like every other week means there's a lack of customer service and experience, and whatever else. Walmart's cheaper, Costco has better products, not really worth coming here except very rarely for genuinely good sales. Really. Non member price will be let's say 15 bucks, and then digital is 10, so wowza, what a deal! But then you look at literally any other store and their regular price for the same item is anywhere from 5-8 bucks, so you're not only getting ripped off, you're also handing over your phone number to boost some metrics a desk jockey will assuredly pleasure himself to later.

I would love to just live here if they would only allow it. I truly can't compliment the professionalism consistently shown by every single person that works there.My favorite part is how instead of forcing you to wait in a super long line behind like 5 people with full carts, the checker will actually use their little telephone and call for extra help!It's a definite pet peeve of mine to be stuck someplace else in a line with 2 dozen customers, 1 slow checker, and a half dozen or so of the "senior staff" just standing around watching the irritation of customers grow exponentially while all they seem to be doing is playing pocket pool.

I’ve been having to doordash due to becoming disabled…i had problems with this safeway before with expired food before i became disabled and was able to be at the store looking at the expiration dates. They keep things on the shelves that are expired for months and the meat is always brown. This is the only safeway close to me. It’s disgusting to keep expired food on the shelves. Now that i can’t go to the store it’s harder to shop here when shoppers don’t know to look at the expiration date because most grocery store wouldn’t put expired food on the shelves for customers to grab. Do better you’re gonna get people sick.

too bad the freezer end cap has had a bad door for 6 months now. The ice cream is always soft. Well the store seems to have gotten a facelift.

Great location, clean store , friendly staff . I am rating a 4 due to product shortages..I am in Kings Beach , Ca few times a month to to visit & pick up a few groceries for my college age son and frequently have to travel elsewhere for popular items. ... however I was in on Sunday to pick up shrimp that was on sale they were out of the product and we're great about finding a similar product to offer at sale price ..

Edit: Today I stopped by to grab water. I walked by the bakery and i was suprised they were stocked on fresh cakes. I was finally able to grab my birthday cake.Out of all the Safeway's around, I would have to say this location has the worst bakery. No one is ever at the bakery, and after pressing the button for service I still have to go searching for an employee. But the part that bothers me the worst is the selection of cakes, they are very sloppy. I went in on a weekday looking for the strawberry cake I always get and they didn't have it. They had a strawberry cup but they were only halfway filled and they didn't look fresh at all. So I skipped on it. Went on Saturday thinking they would have a better & bigger selection and they had the same cakes out. Disappointed.

I came in with my mom today and I was very happy to see that the staff were being safe and wearing face masks. :) The cashier who served me was Linda, and she was so lovely!! Amazing customer service!! Also Cody helped us bag our groceries — he was very nice as well! Wonderful job, HIGHLY recommend!! :)

A little high priced but if you get ad items you can't lose also the 5$ deals in bakery. Beautiful produce, bakery, deli. Deli clerk's need to be a little more personable and only one clerk when I was there around 10am or so making customer sandwich but 2 ladies in front of back window never looked up from what they were doing one yelled at clerk who was trying to get his hotcakes set up. Then came out another customer had been waiting longer than I had. Might want to schedule more when close to lunch time. Overall nice looking salad case and fresh fried chicken delicious. Put iceberg lettuce for sandwiches also make available. Thank you.

At first it seemed a little cramped, but then I realized it's just been a while since I've been in a store that was stocked! I was able to get everything on my list & check out was great. Clerk was really nice and quick. Will definitely be be coming back.

I like Safeway in general this location is convenient it’s on my way home from my office and so they seem to generally have plenty of everything in stock. The only downside to this location is they don’t have a fresh sushi location like the one at sierra college. But overall the staff is great no problems. Would recommend Safeway 100% over Raleys or Bel Air in a heartbeat.

My all-time favorite place to shop. Great variety in all departments. Gourmet deli that is second to none in our area. A bakery that offers such an outstanding variety of sweets. The meat dept. Is always so helpful and nice with great value items. Can't forget the product and liquor departments always willing to offer suggestions and specials. So with all of the great staff led by the best store Mgr that I have ever met It's a great place to shop and visit. The Best.

Amanda is a racist. (Hiring manager)She once said when 2 black patrons entered the store “We should hide the watermelons”Martha is the opening Cashier and having to hear her misery at checkout is abominable. She is rude and she is also rude to her baggers.I tried to voice my concern to the manager and he listened without any critical thinking.The stupidity of this store is the reason they never can keep their workers.

The kid working here was soooo annoyed that we ordered sandwiches when there was no line - the store was a mess, no bread, he was slamming things down on the counter and acted extremely put out that he had to work at all- was rude. It was horrible

If y'all remember the deli kinda being subpar its cause it was. It has improved a little on food quality but that new kid has definitely put a friendly customer focused attitude forefront and makes the experience substantially more appetizing. Maybe the rest of the kitchen will follow suit... I'll give em a few more opportunities👍 The rest of the store is spot on to Safeway standards

The Safeway on Granite Drive is not good in a lot of things. I only go there for some stuff when I run out of time to go somewhere else. The produce department is dirty, mold on the fruits. The bakery is dirty where the donuts are and the cooler with the cakes is underneath so dirty I bet you can find all kinds of terrible bacteria in there. The salad and chicken fresh deli omg don't get anything 😩. Outside is everything dirty nobody sweeps and nasty bugs running around. So if the manager reads this, time to kick some a... and clean up the mess inside and outside.

It's a pretty alright store. I realize they can't carry everything but there's a stark lack of bagel chips. We found them there once. Guess they just don't carry them anymore. The staff is always friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to the self checkout machines since they can be a little difficult at times with items in the bagging area. Expensive, would recommend getting the member card to save a few dollars.

I can never recommend any Safeway to anyone! They're overpriced, the only way to get a sale is yo be a part of their membership, they have no self checkouts, which is a huge thing for me, and to top it off, they're casheirs are the rudest cashiers I've ever dealt with, it doesn't matter the location. Get some self checkouts so I never have to deal with your rude cashiers! The only reason I had to go here was because they were the only place in the area that had what I needed in stock....probably because other people also hate shopping here!

Always easy to find what you need and get in and out. The staff has always been very helpful and gone out of their way to always help me try and find anything I need in the store. Their floral selection is very very good with lots of fresh options
