Okay first - the employee who checked me out was friendly helpful and fast.This was the first time I've ever been to a dollar general store. I went because I'd never been in one & I must say, I have a love of bargains and wandering through stores finding things I didn't know I wanted.While this store had a LOT more variety than I expected, the aisles were crowded, narrow & a tad bit hazardous. I may have looked around more & subsequently purchased more, but it felt unkempt and wading through the items strewn about and the unpacked boxes with other customers began to feel claustrophobic and frustrating.Maybe they are all like this. I don't know. And there's a real possibility that I'll never find out.

On vacation and drove thru this town. We stopped in this store and the restroom door said ask associate for key and I did. I asked her if I could use her restroom and she just looked at me and said NO. I asked really? She just looked at me. So then I went and got my laundry soap and went to pay and they just ignored me and I said should I use the self pay and she said Yep. Neither one was busy. They were so rude. I should have just walked out. If I could give it a 0 Star I would.

It was a nice juries store, the checker was very friendly and she offered summer good information about the area and community.It's dollar general though, so it's not like they have good prices or anything, pretty much the same as your average grocery store or maybe a bit pricey for most items, with loss leaders that make it stopping by for a few selected items...Still, there aren't a lot of other options in Rio Dell and this is one of the few establishments that approaches the status of an anchor.

It has a lot of everything for just about anyone! It's definitely got a variety of different things like food,cleaning supplies, school supplies stuff for your pets,bathroom supplies an more a little bit of everything! The prices are cheep!

Update 2022. Good and friendly and funny, staff and fairly well stocked. I've seen a steady uphill change over the last three years.

What an absolute joke, don't waste your time save your money and go to Costco for paper products and household items this place usually has a line to the back of the store with one register open and a cashier who could care less about you wasting your day staring blankly at the floor, waiting in line. I kid you not I have seen the sale tag with a higher price than the normal item.

Its dollar general getting better all the time. Love having one in Mckinleyville ,Lots of items, friendly, clean, and the prices are great specially during this covid cutback.They haven't price gouged during the shut downs. (COVID).

A couple of days ago, while waiting on line, a young lady was short some money on her total, and the cashier took money out of her own pocket to help. The whole staff there is so sweet and helpful!

Clean the parking lot. I new when they started building this store that, the parking lot would be riddled with cigarette butts. This is totallythe case. The other day, I asked the casher,"who cleans the parking lot." She replied, "Nobody, they don't clean the floors in here. You think there gun clean the parking lot. I said. " It shows."

It’s DG which is a sad choice our small city made to provide packaged, non nutritious food to our population which is primarily limited income residents- some of whom are using their Cal fresh to buy what is walking distance available to them. Sustainable by junk food, tobacco n alcohol. This is what our city council n city manager chose to allow here.

Store had a line of nine people when i went in.. I needed tp, so i chose to stay and wait.. 3 other workers were there.. 2 were dicussing there holiday.. It took 20 mins to get though the line ..it seems to be this way often.Empty shelves, freight left on big feight carts.

It's pretty good , but wheñ theré are things that are óver a dóllar the price is almost Never óñ ór even near the item. I líke the store for it's príçes but too often thíngs are cheap looking and not of great quality.

I absolutely love the service. The employees are super nice and helpful, I mean seriously! They really are so come in and shop knowing there will be smiles laughs and wonderful help!

The cashier was rude to every customer. Why employ someone like that. 725pm today! I will speak with the manager in fortuna about this. No limits on lysol. Every store in California has limits. He said corporate dosen't care. It's the law during the pandemic. Just because I wore my son's MAGA Hat. Pathetic Trump Derangement syndrome.

Ive always loved dollar store but when they came out with the dollar General i fell in love it as soon as i walked into the store. I knew i was home. Lol your gonna love it too. Just give it a chance. I promise you.

I can't get out if this place without buying a whole cart filled to overflowing! Call it convenience, call it shopping addition, whatever, thus store is great. It's a dollar tree store joined with a kind if wierd micro- Walmart. Another description would be it's like a shopping mall,but cindrnced and reduced til only a small section if each store was represented by only the most nessisary items affordable priced. Not a grocery store,there's no fresh meat or veggies, they carry dairy and ice cream, frozen pizza, and a few small iskes if canned and packaged goods, the in house brand, clover valley, is comparable in most cases to any other store house brand in quality, the stock of beer and wine is, if course limited, but competitively priced. The incredible variety of goods from doorknobs to six oet food lamps clothes and shoes DVDs magazines cell phones ice cream hdmfi cables,party suokued and gift cards,bhq supply's oet foods books blankets and pillows...you get the idea. For a time sensitive mission, id pick a DJ store every time .

Rio dell CA, rural area. Only one line one cashier and an incredibly long wait. DG co. Stipulations demand 10 costumers before second cashier can assist!?... Lot's of stock.

Everytime i go to the dollar general in rio del its been great .the store is always clean the people that work there are friendly and most helpful and good products at a good price.i live about 40 miles away and its well worth the drive.

Employees are kind and patient. Always a 20 minite wait in line at any given time. Ridiculous the way corporate makes them run it with little to NO HELP.

Friendly staff wide assortment of products but Rio Dell is very closed community , would suggest stopping for gas in Scotia and missing Rio Dell all together

the lines are almost always super long even when they have empity cashier stations. but its one of the only stores in town
