Today had a bad experience at this place. Usually they are good on average but I believe sometimes they also have a bad day themselves. No effort to help or attempt to do customer service. I’ve spent a lot of money at this place over the years, however sometime they have no spirit to assist for what they are here to do. It is disappointedly to hear that you as a customer have no right to ask for service when service is due or protocols are there to support your point but the unwillingness of some individuals here. Sad!

This place is receiving 2 stars from me due to the customer service. I walked in to ask for pricing on these stone items, and the gentleman who told me where they were basically treated me like a child. Very uncalled for. I thought, that’s ok, that’s just one employee. But then I went to the checkout counter. The gentleman literally acted like he didn’t want my business. Very rude. Sorry for trying to order thousands of dollars from you. Would take my business elsewhere. 2 stars and not 1 Star because their pricing isn’t horrible.

New to the area and needed some Green Board… called them before driving over to confirm availability. Once there, they were quick to help and I was on my way. No complaints!Prices might be a little higher than usual but you’re on a mountain, it’s harder to stock what they have.

Wow. 1st time here. Great selection in their hardware, paint, and Lumber departmentsThey have it all, along with a very friendly and helpful staff.08/23. Still the primary source of construction materials, and still the hardest working team of professional staff.

I bought a racoon cage, and had an issue with it right away. I brought it back, and Roxanne helped me. She went above and beyond. They had to order another one, and she called me right away when the new cage came in. I was very impressed with her customer service. I highly recommend them. Thank you Roxanne!!! 😊

What a great hardware store. Roxane was very helpful and so knowledgeable.She took the time to double check with our contractor because she had a feeling we were ordering the wrong thing n she was right.Very happy with their service.Also free delivery in the mountain, couldn't b happier.

Rim Forest Lumber has a lot of supplies, but their prices are high, and their customer service is less than desirable. Their accounting department is terrible.We have an account with them, and they never seem to be able to email the statements and ding us as there is only a 10-day window. I've called several times and they swear they sent the emails and neither my business partner nor I received them. When contacting them, they will not honor the discount and say "tough we emailed them " without further investigation to check their systems. They seem to have antiquated business operations. We are a busy company and emailed statements should be a given for a business account. We will just go to Lake Drive hardware as their accounting department is much better. Rim Forest Lumber's accountant needs better accounting and customer service skills. If we ran our business the way Rim Lumber does, I couldn't feel good about myself as our customers are what make us.

I've been on the mountain for several years and have been happy with their service until today. I purchased about $8000 worth of block, but when I went to return the pallets, they refused to return the pallet deposit. I provided them the original receipt, but they refused to accept it.I'm out about $400. Won't be back.

Stopped by for my first time...new to the area...nice to see they have a bit of everything to get the job done....looks like the lumberyard is ready for anything you want to build! Staff were helpful and it was a great experience! I'll be back.....thanks!

They are a well stocked hardware store with friendly staff that knows their store and knows their stock.Assistance, unless they're crazy busy, is always offered without needing to seek them out.Definitely an asset to the mountain business community.

This place is organized well, easily accessible to find everything you might need, if not visible, Thomas was very helpful to find what I need to do with my project and had an outstanding customer service attitude about it! Was very impressed with how all the staff members were working and stay busy with each other customers.

I first would like to thank Tricia from Rim Mntn Trafgic for recommending Rim Lumber Yard to me..What a blessing to have the rimLUMBERyardIN 2021 I STARTED AN ADDITION that I did not get the opportunity to finish. Unfortunate reasons and separation has been a challenge, but Gd has brought me back home and I am back to work, now able to RE-begin and complete the remodel. And Rim Forest Lumber and its Team members were there to help from beginning to now, and I will forever be grateful for each person that touched life... it started the moment I thought I was talking to an employee BUT I was talking to a fellow customer he shared a story about his dad and how his dad was older and his dad was helping ,"" he really didn't need his dad's help but just that he wanted to make his dad feel needed and since his dad's time was short he simply wanted to spend the time with him.. my dad passed away in 2017 and I was a daddy's girl very close toy dad! So that began my reason for feeling welcomed in that place. The worker came over to speak to me, and he was very helpful as well as communicating with the person who was gonna work on my roof they both came up with a supply list and I simply over joy'd .Next I went inside purchased the materials from the supply list then began the journey through each stage where I could pick up each of the different types of materials kinda like a treasure hunt.. then I got to the location where I would get the plywood... well *NOTE* sometimes things happen for a reason my funds are starting on budget leaving me with no more than 100$ anyway dues to the so I was able to the correct supplies and not be charged for the price increase, I thought for sure I was gonna have to use all the money I had to me name.. such an emotion hmm but thank gd that I ran into Stephanie, gd strategically placed each person for today's visit to the Rim forest Lumber yard. I definitely needed this break Stephanie was interested in why she noticed my sadness. I where'd my story with her and told her what one of the workers said and Stephanie made sure I was not going to pay more money than what I had already paid and still take the supplies I needed. God was with me this whole visit...John was the first person to help he was there through it all and explained where I was going for each type of material's.. then there was Clayton!!! He like Stephanie was one that touched heart.. he too went above and beyond his job description.. and last the person I got the roofing materials from where I got exercise walking back and forth I got a sunny nice day enjoyed the beauty of the mountain air ..everyone was so very helpful in ways they don't know it changed heart and the way I view my health and looking into future.. whether they know it or not, I leave with something in heart of change... thanks RIMlumberYARD you guys ROCK LOVE ❤

Selection on lumber and building supplies is okay but prices are a bit high. $76 for a sheet of 1/2" B grade plywood when it's $49 down the mountain, and you don't get to choose your own piece (it looked more like C to me). In the rest of the yard you can choose and load your own wood and I've purchased quite a bit here. They have most of what you need from flashing, plumbing, framing, concrete and more. If you need it today without a trip further away this is a good place to get it. If you're buying paint, power equipment, tools or electrical supplies I would probably recommend Ace in Crestline instead. In other words, not bad for building supplies but not the best for general hardware.

This place is hustling and bustling. Although the retail store is pretty small, some might even say "Itty bitty", they draw a lot of people from the local area. This can be explained due to the fact they are one of only a few hardware stores in the San Bernardino Mountains. Being so limited in space means the selection of tools and other items is also limited. However, watching the interaction between the customers and staff, I could see the conversations were warm and familiar, leaving me with the impression this is a beloved little gem.

While I would love to support local mountain shops. Rim Lumber has joined a growing list of local business I won’t be supporting. I was told to wear a mask when entering. I explained I have a medical exemption. I was informed that it didn’t matter. It’s frustrating to have to drive down the hill to spend money in large corporations (who follow California law and allow for medical exemptions) just to enjoy the freedom of breathing free air while doing so.

This was our first visit after having moved up to the mountain. It looks like they have pretty much everything you would ever need. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Needed to rebuild our deck railing and wanted to use the longest boards I could find. Knowing I couldn't fit 20' boards in my truck bed, i remembered reading on RFL's website they offer free local delivery. I'm used to spending a couple hours in Home Depot/Lowe's picking through pallets of wood to find quality but given the circumstances I thought I would try RFL for the first time. Glad I did. Faxed over my list of items, Pat responded w. couple follow up questions, he then faxed over an invoice, I paid, today they delivered. I'm very happy to say the boards are straight and well picked out. All at a very reasonable price. Im very happy overall and will be spending my money here from now on.

Little pricey but better then driving down the hill, I've always loved RIM LUMBER they are great, you will never find a better Lumber Yard with better overall service , a sence of togetherness like there on the same page as you when you ask for help, or to locate an item . They feel like family run or something idk , thier staff communication creates friendly, inviting vibes , as well as very trusting of their everyday customer.... " that doesn't exsist these days no where "and, their one of the only places that sells BIG STRETCH CAULK witch is the best caulk in the world and I know my caulk trust me , makes a world of difference if u use a lot of cauck before painting a house. Thank you RIM LUMBER. For being this mountain community's hardware store

This store is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Prices are a little higher than HD but there's plenty of value to be found in getting what you need without leaving the mountain, not to mention the excellent customer service.

Business is owned by Butch Baumann (former Crest Fire Fighter District 30 ) who acquired business from Frank Holland. He is a member of Mountain Sunrise Rotary Club. No need to go "down the hill."No creepy reason (for a girl) to NOT shop here. Just charming location and many tools---did I mention the tools?---and lumber. Picked up some Sheffield here and revered good advice from Brandon/Gary.Nice chat and texting with Gary. Trees, clouds and mountain ethics are the standard. Thanks gentlemen for the considerate. Bathroom was clean, doors where opened and exchanges made. Never pressured me for a review or used tactics unbecoming of gentlemen. Grateful.

The system they have is far from efficient to say the least. Luckily they have items you won't find at a lowes or home depot. System worked well at one time, the diversity in the area and increase in population wrecked that for everyone.

Elevated prices and sometimes slow but friendly personal, but they sell everything you need for home improvement. Ace in Crestline is even more expensive. The alternative to both is driving 35 to 40 min and they know it

When I moved to Lake Arrowhead I wasn't sure how hard it was going to be getting materials but I have found Rim Lumber to be more than efficient, great employees..
