The staff was super friendly and helpful but the amount of time it took for my appointment to be done, was way over the amount of time it should have really taken. And I was the only person there.Hence the 4 stars.

I enjoyed interacting with most of the staff there the few times I went. The veterinarian himself was aloof and rough with my kitten, however. My grandma also told me that he recommended euthanasia for her rescued kitten who had eye problems. Luckily she did not go for that. The kitten is happy and healthy today and gets around just like any other cat.

My puppy had been sick for about 3 days when we took him to see a vet. He had been vomiting for a while and refused to eat the day before we took him to the vet. As soon as we called Valley Veterinary Clinic, they were able to take him in the same day which was great mostly because other vets were not able to see him until two weeks later. He was attended but no diagnostics were done on him other than the doctor just checking his heartbeat and temperature. The doctor came to the conclusion that my dog had an intestine infection and prescribed him pills for infection and control of vomiting. An hour after we left the clinic, my dog refused to take the pills and vomited. We called the vet; they told us to come in again and they will give him a shot to control his vomiting. After Dr. Plumb had given my dog his shot, he was put on the floor and that is when I noticed my dog was bleeding from where the shot was given; I brought it to the doctor's attention, and he did nothing. I went out into the waiting room and asked if I can get something to wipe my dog's blood off and they kindly wiped it off for me. Thinking that the shot was going to replace the price of the pills they gave him, I walked out. I was told to come back in and pay and they told me it was because I still have the pills at home; understandable so I paid. My dog had stopped vomiting for a while, but I had a feeling this was something more serious than just an intestine infection. I took my dog to the animal hospital in Santa Rosa where diagnostics were run and was told that my puppy tested positive for parvovirus. My puppy had to be hospitalized for 4 days and luckily, he is back home with us, but he would not have been if I didn't trust my gut. The staff at Valley Veterinary Clinic is full of kind-hearted people. I have taken my dogs there before and was always treated great. I just wish that my puppy could have been correctly diagnosed and I wouldn't have had to pay around $200+ on useless medication.

Dr. Plumb & his wonderful crew have been helping my pets since I was in middle school (a very long time ago!)He recently helped me with my beloved kitties. Always professional, kind & they really go the extra mile.Fair & low prices.10/10 recommend!

Overall, I would highly recommend this clinic to anybody who loves their critters! Everybody seems to be connected and very positive…And the sweetest most gentle veterinarian I’ve ever met! The staff put you at ease, and you feel like part of their family even after the first visit… Shout out to the nice people at Valley Veterinarian clinic… Redwood Valley California

Valley Veterinary was so good to us. Our cat became deathly ill on a weekend. I called our regular vet, who we have gone to for over 35 years, first thing Monday morning and explained to them my cat was on her last breath and they told me there was no way they could take her to be euthanized until Tuesday. I told them she would not live that long. All I got was 'I'm sorry". I called Valley Vet and they were so understanding and were able to get our cat in that afternoon even though we were not a client of theirs. My husband took the cat in and said the office staff and Doctor were great and took care of things very professionally. I would highly recommend Valley Veterinary and we may be switching all our pet care services to their office. Thank you again

Excellent vet- Dr. James Plumb & staff are very focused on my pet’s health & happiness. I have moved all over the place, and continue to use Valley Veterinary Clinic as my primary care vet because they just seem to care more about my babies and me! Dr. Plumb also does lots of good for the whole community /county and the animals that goes unreported. He is my family’s vet even though he is not the closest or most convenient.(we live 32 miles away!)

I had to put my dog down. The vet was annoyed that my mom wanted to hold the dog while he put the euthanization shot in. I am glad my mom was holding her because the shot caused her whole body to jolt. Each time the vet came in he said near nothing, the nurses were 10 times the support compared to the vet. They teach us in kindergarten that the appropriate response to "thank you" is "youre welcome" yet the vet still responded with "okay" instead. There was no kind of compassion or understanding with this vet and it is really sad.

James Plumb in my opinion did nothing to help my dog Bella and only took away her chances for survival and living by lying to me and stalling me for more money. I believe James Plumb does not care about the life of animals but is interested in more money and that is it.
