The Humane Society For Inland Mendocino County has been around my whole life, growing up in beautiful Redwood Valley. This amazing place has saved so many life of the helpless, abandoned, neglected and unloved animals in our community and surrounding counties. This safe haven doesn’t get nearly the amount of thank yous it and it’s staff deserves. This is Remi, AKA Birch. Remi was rescued along with her litter mates and mom. She was lucky enough to spend her first days of her live in loving homes while being fostered until she was old enough to be adopted. I absolutely fell in love with this baby girl the moment I laid eyes on her. Throughout her time of learning each new day and all life’s adventures, I watched her grow. After seeing her miss out of a few adoptions, I contacted my mom who is a foster, who then put me in contact with the AMAZING Becca! Becca and I figured out a plan, and I drove 585 miles (one way) to pick up this beauty, who has made our family a whole! Remi and I have been attached at the hip since the moment we met. She has not left my side and absolutely adores her two older, yet smaller, sisters. If it wasn’t for my mom, Becca and the Humane Society, my life wouldn’t be complete at this very moment! The staff and volunteers go above and beyond the call of duty to do what needs to be done, no questions asked, to save lives and find loving homes for all our unloved animals in our community. Thank you again to the Humane Society and Becca... Remi, Brynn, Reyna and I can not thank you enough for bringing Remi into our family! 💕💕

Had an amazing experience adopting a kitten from here. When I first applied for her, she wasn’t ready for adoption due to her not being spayed. I was still able to go meet her and they got her spayed a couple days later and I took her home the next day. The adoption fee was only $100 which is an incredible price for all the care that these animals are given. With the adoption I also got a certificate for a free vet checkup that was valid for many vets throughout Mendocino County. She was deemed to be in excellent health by the vet I saw.They seemed to have a very nice facility and all of their cats looks incredibly well cared for. I was only able to go on weekdays when appointments are required so I wasn’t able to look around the other enclosures. I loved that they allowed the older cats to roam free around the office. That definitely allows the cats to become more confident in the space and be more social. I had to have a serious talk with myself about not taking home one of the gorgeous black cats.

I love, love, love this shelter! The employees are so sweet, kind and understanding! The shelter is very clean and organized. The employees make sure they take care of you as soon as you arrive. Unfortunately, I had to surrender two dogs for my sick mother. The employees were very sensitive to my situation and comforted me while I dropped off the dogs. The shelter is so nice in a country like setting. Lots of green grass and trees. I'm sure they dogs will find a beautiful forever home because the have amazing people working there.

If you are a brown/black person you will have a hard time adopting a pet here because the lady who runs the place is racist and predjudice and her name is Rebecca I believe. She over talks people of color and is so rude and talks down to you like you’re beneath her. Better to go to animal shelter and save lives there because she is so difficult and classless! I don’t understand how her behavior is condoned by management, such a shame that many pets can have a homebut because of her and her predjudice ways they don’t.

This is a very well laid out place. They are super awesome with the animals and actually take the time to train and rehabilitate animals. Their kennels are very open and spacious. The animals all appear to be very happy and well loved. The volunteer program is second to none. They have orientation to help show you tips and tricks for handing animals, regardless of your skill level. All the staff is super informative and helpful. The volunteer group spends lots of time with the animals and give lots of affection. Its a great and heart warming place to visit. I don't feel all heart broken when i leave because i didn't adopt all of them because i know they get the love and attention they need. Good job yall. I would go out of my way to visit here.

We found our sweet little puppy at at Mendocino Humane Society. The staff were so helpful and informative and made the foster to adopt process very easy. The kennel area was big and the love of the animals radiates through the whole place. I highly recommend them if you are looking to adopt a pet.

Working with this human society was so wonderful! We were looking for a long time for the perfect addition to our family and we found our match at the Human Society of Inland Mendocino. We worked closely with Becca who was so great! She made sure we were set up for success with the big transition of getting at puppy. They have even done a few follow up calls checking to see how everyone is doing. Highly recommend them. They are doing such great work for animals in need!

The people here do a fantastic job of caring for the animals and finding new homes for them. They need more volunteers to get to a 5 rating. You have to be patient to get to talk with them; thus the need for more volunteers. I was only donating supplies, and waited awhile before I could find out where to put them. This is a well managed facility; they are simply understaffed.

Absolutely fantastic people work and volunteer here. We've adopted 2 dogs from them and each time it was a great experience. They take the time to get to know you, what your home situation is like and work hard to place you with the animal that works best for your unique situation.I cant' say enough good things about Becca and Heather. They are awesome :)I've attached a picture of the adorable, lovable, uber friendly Miss Pickles. We won the jackpot when they allowed us to take her home and have her join our family.

My wife and I came here to adopt a cat after having a couple less-than-ideal experiences at the Ukiah shelter. The staff here is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The person that assisted us knew every cat by name, their nuances and quirks. The staff there have info pages on the "condos" where they list whether or not the animals will be good with other pets, or children and if they have special needs. I highly recommend this place when deciding where to adopt your next animal.

Great shelter for dogs. They are a caring group of people that do whatever is necessary for the animals. They really try to help people find good matches and are very patient and thorough to ensure that both the people and the dogs are happy. They have an active Facebook page with daily posts of new arrivals, updates on current dogs and new adoptions.

The BEST place to find your next pet!!! The facility has the BEST cages I've ever seen & it's noticable how much happier the animals are as a result. It's the ONLY shelter I've been to that didn't make me cry for the animals as soon as I walked in the door. It's a NO KILL shelter too; very important & best feature!!!

Got my baby boy here. I'm so grateful. They stayed open on a day they are normally closed so that I could make the trip. He came neutered, chipped, with all flea and worm treatments, and is so loving. I am very grateful for this place.

My fiancé and I began fostering dogs while we have been working from home, HSIMC is amazing! They help with every question we have, provide us with supplies, and make us feel so comfortable. We experienced a foster-fail and adopted our first dog, but we hope to continue to foster with them. Not only have we fallen in love with every dog that has come through our home, the staff is AMAZING!! They are all Compassionate and dedicated to these animals who need a second chance.
