Their grooming service cancelled an appointment that has been booked from weeks ago on the day of the appointment. Their reason was that the salon is going under some deep cleaning and the tubs and dryers are not going to be ready for use. How about blocking out the day you’re planning to do a deep cleaning and letting your customers book on different days so you don’t have to cancel on them?

I thought I'd try them for vaccinating my dog since the price difference was so significant compared to the vet. Worst idea ever. We're not coming backNot only it's dirty but also so badly managed. We had an appointment but still made us wait 40 minutes, only to be called and told they wouldn't be able to vaccinate him that day because his last vaccine was less than 2 weeks ago. No reason why they couldn't have told me that at the time of making the appointment, or at a minimum at check in. A complete waste of time and an awful overall experience. Never again.

This is a nice place to go if you are looking to get pet supplies. They have a good selection of products and the staff was very helpful in answering our questions as new pet owners. I’m sure we’ll be back here (likely as regulars now). As our needs evolve with our growing puppy, I think this place should have most of what we’ll need.

Not a great place to get your pup's haircut. Very sloppy, uneven, and spots that are just not trimmed. Really unhappy with how things turned out. We've never had a problem with other places, we were just looking to save some money. Look elsewhere.

Just stopped by here in a pinch for some dog treats the other day.The floors here are absolutley disgusting. I would NEVER even let my dog walk around in this store because ofthe amount of dust, and urine on the floor there was just dried dog pee everywhere (worse at the check out lane areas). There are dirty fish tanks and tons of dead fish in the tanks. I will NEVER step foot in here again. Absoultley traumatized.

I really like it because it has much more than just dog and cat food like other stores. Also the food looks much fresher than other stores. Prices are good and the staff is akways friendly and helpful.

I go pretty often. They often have bags of high end dog and cat food for a significant discount up by the registers. If your pet isn't a picky eater, I highly recommend looking for them

Standard big box pet store. Mixed bag of whether the employees can help answer your questions, but generally they’re nice people. Selection is smaller due to it being a smaller store. They get shipments in on Tuesday if they’re out of what you’re looking for.

First of all let me just say I have rarely ever left a bad review, but a few of the employees here were offensive and rude!We have 11 animals including 5 exoctic ones, and have NEVER experienced such rude customer service from ANY pet store as Petco Redwood City!I booked a grooming appt for my dog 3 months in advance just to get told when I arrived, they were overbooked and couldn't groom my dog because I was 4 minutes late!My family had a 95th birthday celebration coming up and needed my dog groomed for the party.LEANN, the groomer was insistant about NOT helping me because I was late (by 4 minutes). She said they had dbl booked and she already started the "OTHER" dog. Then one of her co-workers came in (apparently had nothing better to do), got behind the computer and as I thought she had come with some sort of power or solution to try and fix the situation, that clearly wasnt the case. She proceeded to challenge me and escalate the situation trying to elevate me with her rude snarky attitude.At that point I wasn't comfortable leaving my dog (whom I love & adore very much), with such rude inconsiderate emoyees!I would've have appreciated at the least, a courtesy call letting me know they needed to cancel my appt, but according to the snarky employee, "They are too busy grooming dogs to pick up the phone to cancel on you!" My grooming appountment was for 9AM, at this point it was 9:25AM (wasting my time and thier own spending more time trying to cancel my dogs appoinment rather than keep it!)I demanded they get someone from Corporate on the phone while I was still there.After about an hour of being distraught and waiting to resolve this dillema... finally a kind manager named Angelina came in, and tho she informed me corporate said they can't speak to me, I appreciated the effort and time she applied to make the call. She offered to call around to try and help me.I really appreciated that someone was finally offering assistance and attempting to come up with a solution.While the manager, Angelina was on the phone trying to make arrangments to accomodate me, a competent employee named Jackie walked in and was able to groom my dog right away!! I was ecstatic!! JACKIE SAVED THE DAY!! She gave my Labradoodle a gorgeous cut!! Our whole family couldn't stop kissing and hugging my dog and her beautiful cut!! I can't thank her enough!! Jackie did an excellent job and saved the day!! My star rating was based on the rude snarky attitudes I had to deal with to keep my dogs appointment prior to Jackie's arrival.

I recently moved and have had to shop here for frozen rats for my snake while I source a local person to supply... Unfortunately the two times I have come here to petco, the ball pythons have had consistently either low temperature readings or low humidity readings. There is feces in the tank too. The gauge of one today had a humidity reading at 25%. When I brought it up to the manager Corey, he had told me that the gauges are inaccurate/ basically don’t work and so my concern was irrelevant. If they are inaccurate, how are staff able to correctly measure these animals specific needs for temperature and humidity? Please do not buy ball pythons from Pet Co and support the conditions these animals are kept in... buy from local breeders or adopt a snake in need of rehoming.

The staff is really helpful, but don't pressure you to get what they want to sell ie. sale items. The store has a few dog foods I've not seen sold in other pet supply stores

Staff is kinda stand off-ish and in the fish section they will give you whatever one is easiest to get, regardless if it is twitching and upside down on the surface. Other locations sometimes have employees who care a lot and will sometimes even refuse to sell a fish to you if you don't have the correct tank setup. Go to another location for fish at least, for other things I am not informed enough to answer upon as of now.

Keilani was very friendly and knowledgeable about saltwater fish tanks. I was starting a new venture into salt water fish, and she made me feel good that I could do it. Most of all she had a great personality and could speak from experience.

Not a very clean location and the staff is very unprofessional. The associate was pleasant to deal with, but dressed in pajamas and just literally, leaning back, and not really caring about his job. The store really reeks of ammonia as well.

7-31-21 update. At my visit today, I didn't think they were consistently implementing an employee mask policy. I really feel like it's essential that stores (ALL EMPLOYEES) consistently mask.Prior review ***They had the items I needed in stock and sufficient personnel. Minimum victory conditions. The store was clean.

Went there while waiting for a food order at a near by restaurant. Rat infestation is still definitely there, saw them scurrying around under the shelves. Lights were flickering and there was a ball python that had a very tough molt with pieces still stuck to him and looked stressed. The bags of substrate were very moist inside and the whole store had a mildew smell.A previous comment about lack of care of staff catering to the reptile needs was apparent. Would not feel confident shopping here for anything food related for pets due to rats.

Great selection of items for dogs BUT there is a massive rat infestation in this store against the back walls by the dog food. Heard the scurrying, babies squeaking, and then saw a large rat poke it’s head out over the top shelf. Staff is awake of the issue but I have heard/seen rats twice in the last two weeks. Needs to be resolved ASAP.

Honestly customer service was kinda whack and not very welcoming nor helpful only one groomer was helpful at the end. The problem was My aunt who only speaks Spanish took my dog to her grooming appointment, but they didn’t want to take in my dog because her vaccine records weren’t showing up although my dogs records were in another account anyways they came off with a lot of sass and unnecessary attitude towards me and my aunt who we were very respectful and patient. Anyways once I came in to talk, their whole excuse was pretty much bs and they ended up fixing the situation pretty fast when I told them, I knew they had my dogs record and they could’ve easily pulled it up, In which they did and attend my dog after I talked to them. It seems like they were taking advantage of my aunt since she’s very nice and gullible in situations like this. Overall I don’t think I’ll be going there just because they came of as untrustworthy towards their clients, so if I can’t trust them why would I trust them with my dog. who knows how they truly are towards our pets behind close doors?
