Training with Chris at PetSmart has been the best decision I’ve made as a first time dog owner! Chris emphasizes positive reinforcement and consistent ques and commands to not only build your dog’s skills, but your connection to your pup. I started bringing my Aussie mix, Stevie, to Chris at 6 months and since then we’ve graduated through beginner and intermediate classes. I feel way more confident as a dog owner with Chris’s instruction and notice major improvements in my dog’s obedience and socialization. Can’t say enough good things about her classes, would recommend to any owner with pups of any age looking to understand how they can better train their dog!

As first time puppy owners, we are very pleased with the results of the puppy and intermediate classes. Chris was an excellent trainer for our puppy and us because of her calm demeanor. She gave clear and concise instructions and demonstrations that were easy to follow at home. She took the time to answer questions that we had and gave suggestions specific to our training needs. Her methods of using positive reinforcement was very effective in teaching our puppy commands. We highly recommend taking classes from Chris. We are happy with the results and are looking forward to the advance class!

I started having my dog participate in Ms. Chris' beginner puppy training and I noticed how much of an improvement he made in terms of overall behavior! Her key component of implementing consistency when it comes to training my dog has been a huge difference maker and we are so looking forward to participating in her intermediate class and potentially advanced! Chris, the trainer was fabulous. Very patient and experienced beyond what I have experienced with other dog trainers in the past. She was knowledgable and easy to learn from. We started taking our now 11 month old Australian Shepherd, Rip, to training classes with Chris a few months ago and it has really helped with both Rips socialization and obedience. As first time puppy owners, Chris is very knowledgeable and answers all of our questions which has been a relief for us.Our biggest accomplishments are that Rip has stopped barking at dogs and people on everyday walks. And his loose leash walking/heeling skills are greatly improving. Its been a phenomenal and enjoyable experience to say the least.These classes have taught us alot about the skills needed to train and keep training our pup into the future. Would highly recommend!!

As first time dog owners, we cannot express enough gratitude to trainer Katey and her beginners class. She was wonderful with all of the dogs and their different behaviors, and we noticed an extreme improvement with our dog over the course of the class. She is wonderful at explaining in things in a few different ways to make sure you and your pup are understanding, and has no problem getting hands on with the dogs to demonstrate. Overall a wonderful experience with a wonderful trainer, looking forward to future classes with Katey.

I enrolled Ozzy in Beginner training classes with Ms. Chris! She does such an amazing job with these pups. This is such a great way to bond with your dog. I learned more than anything that training all starts with me. Ozzy got a lot of knowledge and socialization. Highly recommend this awesome teacher. We are now enrolled in intermediate training. Looking forward to learning more new things with Ozzy.

Update: look who graduated intermediate! Navi and Lucy met in beginner puppy and will start their 3rd class together with Chris! Chris is helping us navigate the teen era with creativity and patience. Such a great bonus to make good friends in class.We took our first set of classes from Chris with our pets without partners rescue 14 years ago, and knew where to go five years later with our next rescue. Fast-forward eight years and we get to take puppy classes with our golden achiever. Chris is consistent kind answers questions and gives individual guidance based on each dog’s needs. So happy to have Chris as an instructor for all three of our pups.

I have 11months old Italian Cane Corso. I signed up for all 3 class's right after he got all his shots, with Chris the trainer and its has helped alot. Chris is very passionate and understanding of each breed. If you are frustrated and at a stand still, Chris helps you. She absolutely loves her job and you can till she absolutely cares for you and your pups. My pup has came along way. She is very easy to talk to and you can ask for ideas for at home. Cause what may work for one dog won't work for another.

We got Daisy when she was 7 months old and thought it would be good to enroll her in a new puppy training course taught by Chris. We were unsure how Daisy would react around other dogs and let’s just say that her first class didn’t go so well.Chris suggested we take a few private lessons with her and we are excited on how well they have been going. Chris is excellent when it comes to teaching us the techniques and skills needed in dog training.We have noticed a huge improvement in Daisy’s behaviors and has given us the confidence in continuing Daisy’s training. Henry, my dachsie, and I attended several sets of dog group training classes with Chris in 2017 and we enjoyed it immensely. Her training stressed positive reinforcement and was really effective with Henry as he didn’t like or respond to negative reinforcement (he’s very sensitive). Chris impressed me with her knowledge of different dog breeds and their behaviors and gave me suggestions that pertained to my dachshund, especially when Henry had some trouble with the “down” command. He would not do a down with his front legs even though they were very short so Chris suggested that we continue working on it giving lots of praise. Henry went blind in 2019, but he still knows and performs most of his commands using just his hearing, no visuals, and he looks so proud of himself when he does. Henry liked Chris and enjoyed his training classes and that was important to me! About a year later I got another puppy, Howee (a chiweenie) and he also attended classes with Chris. The group training sessions were perfect for us as he learnt how to be around other dogs. Thank you Chris!

We enjoyed bringing Molly to Beginner training class with Chris. We enjoyed interacting with other owners and watching their dogs learned and progress. Chris does a great job! We learned so much together and look forward to the Intermediate class (we signed up for the package with all three levels.) Molly’s goal is to train her owners to be consistent in commands because it is important to be on the same page.

*Update!* We just finished our second class working with Chris and we would still recommend working with her! It has been a great bonding experience for me with my Dal and an awesome socialization time for her as well with her Golden bestie Navi. 💜We are currently taking a puppy class with Chris and she has been awesome! She is very patient and kind, and has been great with my daughter who is learning to work with our puppy as well! We will continue training our Lucy with her & would absolutely recommend taking a class with Chris! :)

I have taken both the beginner and intermediate dog training classes with my Standard Poodles. Chris is an excellent dog trainer. She gives good sound advice and has a ton of patience to train both the dog and the owner. I would highly recommend taking a dog training class from her.I am currently taking private classes with Chris for my show Standard Poodle. Chris has been great helping me get this girl more comfortable and confident in the ring. Chris has such a great and calming demeanor getting my girl to quickly do what is asked of her. My golden retriever Goki just completed the beginner’s training course with Chris. She is an amazing instructor! Very sweet, patient and knowledgeable. Chris in your pet training department has been the trainer to both of our pugs- Bob went through 2 sessions and retained all of his skills until the day he passed at 12 and Chester, our crazy wild pug who Chris has really helped with her advice on his anxiety. He is young but she has done wonders for him. Best decision I’ve ever made for training.

We adopted Boba (about 1 years old) from Haven at Petsmart and immediately signed up for beginner training. We could tell Boba had some basics, but definitely needed some extra guidance!Chris has been wonderful in training! She’s very knowledgeable and super sweet & patient with all of the dogs. We’re signing up for the intermediate training now with her that we’ve finished beginner - He’s come so far in the few weeks he’s been there!Chris really cares about the development and progress of each dog! If you’ve been thinking of signing up your dog for training, do it! Petsmart offers different courses for different levels as well as private training.Update: We’ve been going to Chris for intermediate training (he graduated!) and it’s been wonderful! You learn really valuable cues that get utilized daily. It’s worth the investment!!!

We entered our 10 month old pug in a training class at this store. Chris was the trainer. She is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from her in this class. She is very patient with animals and we could tell she cared about our dog and other people in the class with their animals as well. For basic training for your pet, we recommend this class, it was very helpful and a good start for training and socializing our pet with other animals

I adopted a shelter dog last summer after my 16 year old dog passed away. When the time came for some formal training, I enrolled Eli at PetSmart to train with Chris, just as I had 16 years ago with Bernie.Eli has just finished his Beginner class with Chris, with great results. I have never had a very small dog before (Eli is just 9 pounds!) and I was concerned that his training be as gentle as he is, but still be effective. I was not disappointed. Just as with my prior dog many years before, Chris once again taught me the skills I needed so my tiny dog is consistently the best behaved dog in any situation we are in. And while I did have an initial concern, I ultimately also felt that my tiny dog was completely safe in class, because Chris paid special attention to the interaction of the other dogs with Eli (as all of the others outweighed him by probably 40-60 pounds).Finally, I found the class to be a good value, at about $20 per lesson (broken out from the cost of the 6-week course). With 3 other dogs in the class (total of 4), Chris provided plenty of information and help specific to the needs of each of participant.We will be back for the next level of Eli’s training with Chris next month!

I took my doberman to Chris' class way back in 2011 and to this day we still use those training techniques. All these years later I still enjoy dropping by and saying hi and update her on how we are doing. Ms. Chris's dog training is fantastic. I took my little Yorkie-poo Dino to approximately four sessions of her training which were extremely helpful for both of us...especially me. She worked with all of us as a group to socialize and train, large and small dogs, but also worked with us individually to help with some learning kinks. Very happy with our training with Ms. Chris. Chris is kind, patient, and cares for every one of her training peeps and fur babies. Thank you!!

Well lit store, clean, spacious. Convenient location with plenty of parking. Lots of diet choices for dogs and cats. Nice housing+ selections for other small pets. They do periodic pet adoptions too.
