This place doesn't even deserve one star. As soon as we walked in the lady was snoody. My boyfriend tried to cash his check and they were doing research as of he was lying and trying to cash a bad check. When she asked questions she was rude. Then she wouldnt even cash the check when the questions were answered.She has very poor customer service and shouldn't be working there ! I used to cash checks at hinkles all the time and never once had a problem. There was always great customer service. Whoever hired this lady made their business look bad.

My friend and I went into Hickle’s Market to exchange a check for money, my friend brought an outdated check; meaning to bring the current check. The lady working there had sass immediately. She got defensive and was not understanding that the wrong check was brought. We came back with the current check and the lady said, “you brought an old outdated check in and I will not help you with your new check even though it is from five days ago” and then banned my friend and printed out her I.D. The attitude she had in her tone was unacceptable and not understanding in any manor. I am saying this to express how workers there need to take a deep breath and see the full perspective of situations before disregarding circumstances. My friend is is 17 and legally should not have a picture of her I.D. photo on the wall

This place is awesome. You are able to cash checks here with ease. If you're already in the system you don't even need ID which has helped out more than once. The owners are wonderful people and this is the best convenience store in Redding hands down

Some good prices, some high. The owners are friendly and remember their frequent customers - really care about them. Cool Dip & his wife got to know me while my husband was in the hospital nearby and when I went in about a month later, she asked about my husband and myself.

This place cashes checks, does Western Union, bill pay, fishing liscences and takes EBT! Once your in their check cashing system you don't need your ID there anymore to cash checks, it's all with a finger print. Very small fee but super convenient and worth it!

I love this store. They have a good variety of things, food, fishing, lottery,t-shirts,purses,etc..They cash checks & You can even Pay your PG & E bill! Great people behind the counter too!

The owners are so nice. They have to deal with such undesireable people, due to their location, all day long and still keep a good attitude when I come in. You can pay your utility bills, get m/o's, send M/O's, buy liquor, snacks, fishing stuff and some designer clothing & purses. Another onestop shop.

5/30/13WHERE THEY LACK IN QUALITY, THEY MAKE UP IN QUANTITYAfter spending the night a couple doors down and finding out the Motel didn't serve coffee, I was pointed in this direction. I was suprised to see the size of the store inside. Lots of cool stuff! However, I didn't receive much help from the one person working, even though I was the one customer in the store.It was only 9 in the morning and 3 of the coffee canisters were empty, leaving me with a medium roast. It wasn't bad and they had coffeemates to go with it (the mini liquid containers - and I like those). They were out of lids though. I asked the girl about more and she said they must be over there. I couldn't find them but didn't make a big deal of this. I didn't have far to walk and really, the landfills don't need two extra lids extra time we want a coffee. We finished the small cups before getting in the car anyhow.The two coffees and two string cheeses totalled just over $6. (ONe coffee was a half blend of coffee and the mocha stuff you get in the hot chocolate machines that always sit nearby, so it was probably a specialty price.)

Hinkles Market is in downtown Redding its a historical landmark been serving Its patrons for ma y years they cash checks and money orders have a nice clothing line there open late its the only store in the area there a smoke shop and have all kinds of trinkets and knives wallets and pursers and a liquor store to boot a very nice rounded place over all

If you're on the old side of town and you just need a soda or what not.then this little hole in the ground is good for you .they're not expensiveand they have the normal stuff like you'll find a 7-Eleven.soda jerky... hard liquor and beer runs you know..... the average stuff.I give it two stars because it's kind of ran down and because of all the bums .I don't think you'd stop there unless you're hanging out with the boys/ girls stopping for beer or hard liquor something of that sort.you kind of feel an unsafe feeling from that general area with all the bums and lowlifes that hang around there ,and it's not the store's fault .it's where it is in town.But on a hot summer (day).... not late evening or night if you need a sodadefinitely stop in and grab one.

Bad place! The white guy with glasses that works there was rude and very disrespectful...I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! also, the place has homeless people all in the front...IT'S A TOTAL MESS THERE!

Good little ghetto market in a bad neighborhood the employees here are good people... the prices are a little high but not too bad..... watch out for bums n druggies tho unless you're looking for drugs if that's the case you can easily find someone outside to hook you up any time of the day... lock your doors here

I just moved in the area ,I have been to hinkles 4 times. It's sad to see the owners from India that own hinkles mistreat people. They dont have any expressions such as a smile. How do they survive
