We booked this last minute on Christmas Eve 2023. So glad they still had a cabin available because it was perfect for our family of four!We checked in after 6p so they turned the furnace and lights on for us inside the cabin too! It was cozy and clean. We were explicitly wanting to explore the Redwoods on Christmas Day and got to do exactly that. The location is prime and the gift shop provided us with a map that gave us all the inside scoop where to go and see these beautiful trees!Want to stay in the Avenue of Giants, this is the place you want to be!

We just stayed at the Redcrest Resort for the second time this December and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Cabin 14 fit our family of 7 perfectly. Any issues we had were addressed quickly by staff. If you’re looking for a simple and cozy cabin to lay your head down at night, this is the place. We got to see the redwoods after a tip from the wonderful lady working the giftshop and we are so glad we asked her where to go. Big thank you! *plan your trip and make sure you know how to get to the free way because the only cell service that works at the cabin is verizon.Rooms: Rooms are simple, warm and clean with the cutest bear/nature decor you’ve ever seen.Nearby activities: Eureka is 40 minutes away. The redwood forest is within 20 minutes. Plenty of placed to eat within 20 minutes as well. Plan your trip well as the only serviceSafety: We felt very safe in the area

First, these cabins are located right where you want to stay in the middle of the redwoods. There are even giant redwoods on the property. We stayed in the off season which meant they were under staffed and the check in/check out times delayed our day a bit. The hot tub is long gone, but the BBQ was nice. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were nice. I would recommend this place purely for the location.Nearby activities: Avenue of the Giants

Great location if you want to get away. Cabins are cute but older and a bit dusty but clean otherwise. No wifi although they advertise that there is. No cell service for some carriers . Most food options are 20 min away. Good if you are in the are to get away. I rated this low as the price is high for what you get. For the price you could find something nicer.

Redcrest Resort is a small, well-maintained resort located right on the Avenue of the Giants in Redcrest, California. The town is very small, with a population of just over 120 people, so expect a quiet time, unless you are visiting during peak summer travel, when the resort can get a bit crowded. The back-in RV sites at Redcrest Resort are small, the resort was built before large rigs with pop-outs. Only one of the two pull-through sites could barely accommodate my 32-foot bumper pull RV. The rest of the sites are better suited for small, vintage style rigs, or Smaller Motor Homes, Sprinter Vans, etc. The sites have Sewer, Water and 30 amp power only, so bring an adapter if needed. There is a single wash house but that's it. At $85 a night for a family of 4 during November (off season) we found it expensive. However, if you have a small RV or are tent camping, Redcrest Resort is a cool and remote spot to camp and explore the redwood forest around you. The resort has a fire pit and it is located within walking distance of several redwood hiking trails.Overall, I would recommend Redcrest Resort to campers and RVers who are looking for a quiet and scenic place to stay in the redwood forest. However, I would advise booking in advance, especially if you are visiting during peak summer travel. Here are some pros and cons of staying at Redcrest Resort:Pros:Well-maintained propertyLocated right on the Avenue of the GiantsFire pitWalking distance to several redwood hiking trailsCons:Back-in RV sites are small and close togetherPull-Through Sites are inadequate for anything over 32'PriceyCan get crowded during peak summer travelOverall rating: 3 out of 5 stars

This resort was AMAZING!!! Woke up to an amazing view, got to do yoga on a trail near the cabin, got to explore the redwoods around the place as well! The staff and family who own this place were great, they helped us out with small things like starting a fire to supplying us with amazing games. There’s not only beautiful trails and trees surrounding this site, but the weather is amazing and clear, it’s like a breath of fresh air. If you ever want to get away from the city and disconnect, this is the place to come. Can’t wait to come again with friends and family!

Lovely, comfortable, rustic cabins nestled among towering redwoods. This small resort is perfect located in Avenue of the Giants, the largest remaining grove of ancient 360+ foot trees.Nearby activities: Lots of nearby easy hikes through the forest & swimming in the river.

If I could give them negative stars, I would!! This place is horrible. Please notice on their website their prices say, "starting price" they believe they can charge whatever they feel like that when you check in. They are extremely rude when you are checking in so it makes you want to get the check in over with quickly. In doing so, they put in a much higher price and you sign not paying attention. When you point this out, they refer you back to the "starting price" line and since you have signed and given them your credit card they refuse to be an ethical business and refund you the money. We were overcharged by over $300! Other visitors confirmed that they did it to them as well. Do not stay here!! There is mold on the ceiling. The carpets are stained. The water comes out to cold or to hot. But all of that is not the worst. The worst is the staff there has no class and will stand there and raise their voice (super rude) and they do not care that there are other customers present. Too bad I didn't read the reviews before we booked. My family and I were so appalled at this place. They mistreated all of us. They were RUDE to each and everyone of us. Overcharged all of us!! I hope I can save anyone else from having to have their vacations ruined with people like this. When people go on vacation it is not be taken advantage of so blatantly and to be mistreated. If you don't want your vacation ruined. Skip this place!!!! They have no business sense, morals or business etiquette.

This place is amazing! From cabins, to pull through and back in RV sites to Tent Camping and a Vacation House, they have it all!Not only are the grounds well maintained and beautiful but the staff is helpful and friendly! They have many amenities available for their guests including badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, beanbag toss, and even a disc golf basket! Every one of their sites includes a picnic table, the RV and Tent sites include firepits and the tent sites even have barbeques! There is a group firepit for the guests too. The gift shop is full of treasures and the staff really knows the area. They even have a local artist who makes wood sculptures! Plus they welcome dogs of any breed! This place is a treasure! This was our first time there and we have already made our next reservations!Nearby activities: Avenue of the GiantsNoteworthy details: The staff is helpful and friendly! The gift shop is well maintained and they are dog welcoming!

Very clean, small cabins. No issues with check in. Plenty of hot water/pressure for showers. Went in November off season with the husband and dog as a base camp to visit Avenue of the Giants/Eureka. Lots of small touches (birdhouses, Christmas lights, flowers), can see how it would be great fun for kids and families in the summer, post COVID (hopefully the fire table and hot tub will reopen for use then). Room rates increased 20% between the time of our reservation and payment upon arrival, but price was fine and location in the redwoods was far better than staying in Eureka. Would return!

They raised the prices at check out, the place was gross, and the staff was incredibly rude to all of our guests who stayed during our wedding weekend because one guest had to cancel her reservation a couple days before when she found out she had Covid. She canceled so as to not get everyone at our wedding sick. They asked multiple different guests of ours if they were related to her which is just so inappropriate and even went so far as to tell my mother in law they weren’t sure if they were even going to let her stay there the night before our wedding because of it… just horrible customer service. They told her our aunt should have canceled two weeks before…what kind of policy is that? I’m grateful we were able to book an Airbnb that honestly cost less and was so incredibly quaint and clean. Do not stay here. Try the Scotia lodge instead if no airbnbs are available. Camping is a better choice as well.

Super place to relax, you can with friends, children. We have been identified a whole house ($ 150), there is a bedroom, living room and kitchen, 2 large bedroom bedroom and a large sofa in the living room. Here you are all at home, which is needed, absolutely everything! The owners were very taken careful that the vacationers feel completely comfortable. There is entertainment on site. Everything is very clean !!

BEWARE! We were surprised to see how small and dilapidated the cabins were for the price. The bathroom and kitchen are SUPER tiny. The WIFI was worthless. The power went out when we were going to bed so the generator turned on. It was extremely loud and the fumes came into the cabin. We were given a total cost when the reservation was made and the day we left they raised the rate. When we asked about it, the girl at the front desk was very rude. I get it that they need to run a business but don't be dishonest and rude!

Friendly & helpful hosts!! Great location & pet friendly with a lot of places for the dogs to walk leash free even. The cabins were alright, a bit tiny, but well equipped. Many rules about cleaning, i.e. dishes, but that's alright if you have a business you're running. Very weak wifi though (having any is a plus given there's no cell phone reception in the area). The garden area has neat places to sit & enjoy the surroundings or play games with the family. overall, a good place to take a break from camping in the wild & take a nice hot shower!!

The lady at the front desk was not very friendly, the jacuzzi didn't work the room was dusty and dirty I have pictures. when I asked for the WiFi password she told me she didn't what to give it to me because it probably didn't . work We couldn't make plans for our next stays because of it . We ask for a refund to go somewhere else we where told they couldn't help us no phone in the room no way to call for emergency or any if your cell service didn't work like our didn't. I left there felling like the baits motel and would never go back ! Redwoods are beautiful but it left me feeling like I won't be back to the hotel best advice find someone else

This is a charming, little old-fashioned park surrounded by beautiful redwoods & cute cabins. My site, #72 was a quiet little one nestled between 2 cabins. My 24' motorhome fit perfectly. I would have stayed longer if it hadn't been booked.

Told us they a cabin, we arrive and they refuse to let us have it because we had a trailer. Offered to put trailer in parking and leave my truck by the highway. Just obstinate and snobbish with shabby looking little cottages in bright slummish colors. Lady at the front was nice, owner was not at all helpful or tolerant of anything or anyone.

The bad, older cabins floors kinda crooked like your walking up or down hill when you cross the room, hot tub was barley warm and water was greenish, shower head was really low for an average height person. On the other hand staff was friendly when we checked in (I didn't have any other encounters though). The setting can't be beat, the cabin was well equipped and felt very roomy. Everything was really clean, you can tell the staff cares. Beds were super comfortable. Playground out front is a great place for kids to run around. Wish we had stayed longer.

We found the staff at check in to be friendly, we had stayed here 14 years prior and thought it was just okay. This stay we loved it, our cabin was clean & comfortable, furniture was clean. This is not a hotel. This place is a GREAT lodge in the redwoods. Good satellite, nice tv's, very comfortable furniture to relax in. We absolutely enjoyed it! People who are looking for a hotel experience should stay in the city, this is a nice cabin resort, located in the woods with all the comforts of home, never have I stayed anyplace that provided Q tips, I have traveled all over the us. There must be a thoughtful woman involved in this resort. We loved it!! Thank you to Redcrest, we are coming in Dec 2016, just 2 weeks after our last stay, this time staying 2 nights.
