Tall old tree with a top that was knocked odd by lightning years ago (according to a sign describing the history of the tree that I forgot to take a photo of.) It is on the property of an RV park along with a souvenir shop. Inside the shop is a large variety of merchandise and friendly staff.

Had a delicious picnic here - there are tables outside for you to enjoy. They also have a restroom on the other side of the building. The gift shop was nice and the guy that was there was super friendly. We would definitely visit again.

Very well marked attraction off the Avenue of the Giants. The tree and information sign are great, as is the neat hollowed out piece. The rest of the grounds are deserted and run down. No longer a Good Sam RV park. The place is so deserted that it felt like we were almost trespassing in the parking lot.

So if you're on the Avenue of the Giants and want to do a quick stop off the official beaten path... This can be it. Not only do you have a tree that continues to survive despite a lot of adversity...you have a hollow trunk to stick your friends and family in and a very nice walking area to explore.

Good place to learn about the resilience of the redwoods. This tree withstood axing by humans, lightning, storms and fire and still lives on a the giant it is! Worth a stop when you drive along the Avenue of The Giants scenic road.

We stayed at the RV park for $56 per night for water, elect, and sewer. Basically a parking lot with grass between the sites. Beautiful location right in the middle of beautiful redwoods, although hiking in this immediate area is very limited.

Nice stop on The Avenue Of the Redwoods drive. The Immortal Tree has survived lightning, fire, flood and loggers. Nice little gift shop for souvenirs.

Our daughter bought a wolf from the gift shop, with her own money, believing that it was carved redwood. It wasn't! The leg broke off to reveal that it was ceramic. So if you go there thinking that you are buying some carved redwood, chances are that it isn't real. It is a real sham.
