Simple diner food in the midst of a convenience store, but with some booths and tables to sit in, separated somewhat from the convenience store items. Selections of books to read while eating. Some local artifacts are on display. There is a bar next door, accessible from the store, though it was not open when we were there. It's not a bad place to stop for lunch on the way back from Yosemite.

We went on a Sunday for lunch before heading to the museum. Clean & very friendly staff. I had bacon cheeseburger & fries, it was delicious. A friend had big salad with grilled chicken that he said was really good, his wife loved her tuna melt! They also have fresh home fried potato chips, yum!Order at the counter, food brought out when done, several tables with chairs.Small grocery area. Bar in other half of store but isn’t open at lunch time.Highly recommend eating here in a relaxing atmosphere. We’ve been a few times already

They have good food I've eaten there before sadly their hours need to be a little bit longer especially during the day of their parade once a year.

Stopped by after visiting my parents for a bite. The kitchen closed 2 minutes before we got there but Amanda who was cooking tonight was so sweet and made us a burger and chicken strips anyways. We were starving and so thankful. The General has a lot of history and charm. Dinner was great.

Fantastic breakfast. Don't let the little place fool you! Huge omelets with ample fillings. The bacon was thick and tasty. Potatoes either hashbrowned or cowboy were equally fine. Make the drive, escape the crowds. Good service, great homestyle cooking, cozy atmosphere.

Great little store. Has a large selection of variety of different ice creams! The food we ate was good. The home made crate item i purchased i LOVE!! the cook makes these little outfits. They hang from the oven rod & they look like a little child's dress. Really, they are kitchen towels! Darling! Can't wait tongo purchase more from her!!

The place reeks history. The building dates to 1914, and now is about half grocery/cafe, and half saloon. We stopped in on a very hot August afternoon, and were greeted by a very friendly lady. Had some good beers on tap, and I enjoyed a cold one. You can't help but sit in this bar and reflect on everything that has occurred here over the last hundred plus years. Times are pretty tough in Raymond these days, but I hope these folks can keep on truckin'.

The history of this building is deep, just walking in here is a step back in time. They got all the snacks, drinks and essentials. Grab a burger, sit and chat with friends, sit outside and relax. Stop in after a bike ride or motorcycle ride! They have the coldest beer around and the super friendly local staff always makes you feel welcomed. Stop by and give these great people some business!!!

If you are traveling around here, this place is worth a visit. This place may be in the middle of nowhere, but there are plenty of items. They serve food inside too. (The burgers are delicious)

Great old time country store. Recently started serving dinner on the weekends, a blessing to the town of Raymond. Great staff, friendly and efficient, so very hardworking!! ☺️

My son and I were out exploring the area when we found this gem. It truly has an old west feel.We were expecting only snacks by the name but were pleasantly surprised to learn they have a kitchen and bar also. We decided cheese burgers and fries sounded good. My son must have mentioned how good it was every other bite! The staff were very friendly and I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

Had lunch there last weekend after fishing Hensley Lake. Nice place to get drinks, snacks, a cold one !! Nice feel inside...takes you back to earlier times. We had double bacon burgers with fries, some mozerlla stick and a pastrami sandwich. Everything was delicious and the gal in the kitchen was friendly, nice and quick getting our food out.

I am camping at Eastman lake when the wind became problematic for safe cooking. Drove here for a meal based on other reviews. It is great! I ordered a patty melt. A gentleman waiting for his order remarked "....they do them right here. Real rye bread. None of that swirly stuff." He was right. A patty melt done right! Delicious. Super nice staff.

Omg I love this place! The ladies are very nice and the food is amazing! Love the gal that does the treats on Wednesdays. It adds a special touch to every meal! We try to stop in every week!

When I went in to get a hot dog. The deli was almost closed. It took forever to get the food. Was not the most hospitable deli worker. The dog was not very good. The bun was dry and no condiments. All and all I don't think I will go back. I love the actual store though and the store clerk was nice.

Friendly bunch of folks at this rustic store. I come here when camping/fishing the nearby lakes. Sure it's a little and I stress a little more expensive but it beats driving over 20 miles west for beer and ice run. Just so you know, there is no gas there. But there is a great tavern. I like these peoples priorities.

I enjoyed their famous biscuits and gravy !! This place is Historical... over 100 years old! Years ago the trains use to make a turn right in front of this store....a stagecoach would take you further into the forest!

This store is in a town if 600 people. The picture of the General is the one that is 2 story with bottom and top decking. The building is over 100 yrs old and has interesting history. There is a mini store, food cooked right there and a bar.
