This is the closet supermarket near me. Folks are always helpful and kind. The prices are a bit higher but that's likely due to the location. We shop here often and selections are good. We also frequent the hot food section.

Clean friendly well organized staff kind of like the the, "Cheers," of Country Small Town Markets. I love it here the devil is great customer service is wonderful the prices are a little steep however they do have to pay their employees and if you can always drive to Walmart you couldn't get a better quality without a Costco card but they lost a lot of business when the Dollar general pulled into town

Very cool staff who are so welcoming. The butcher shop has the best cuts of all you can ask for. Bakery is ok. Produce is fresh. I wish the prices at this store were comparable to stores in the valley. I would make this store my go to market if prices were comparable to the valley market, it would save me the gas but even with the added fuel expenses I still save by shopping in the valley. So there you have it. It's definitely a theme in the foothills and mountain towns.

Today was the first time I use the self checkout. They actually have a lady there on standby. Kind of like a hostess, but this one is unique. She was extremely positive, kind, and well... Sweet . She who encouraged interaction and encouraged her assistance is there to ensure that I, me, we the customer isn't left a lone.💯💁‍♀️🤠👍 She was the epitome of positivism. I was so taken back by her wholesome goodness, I didn't even think to catch her name. She was definitely a blessing. I would have been lost without her. Ever so Kindly she guided me through everything. I'm sure I could have figured it out, but it was nice having backup 🤠😉💯💁‍♀️🤗

Great service. Great selection for a store it’s size. Custom meats. Great custom sausages. Good deli with great staff who go out of their way to help. A little more expensive than some places in town but not much more. Definitely worth the price for the convenience.

I love this little store. Lots of discounts at the ends of the aisles- bakery, meats, dairy, vegetables. Sometimes the discounts are not so deep-pay attention! I paid $7 for a half gallon of milk that was past date because I was in a rush and didn’t look.

I love this store! The employees are always super friendly. The store is always clean and well stocked. They have the best meat in the area... Maybe the state... I love their fresh ground sausage. Awesome for when you can't make it to town. For the most part they have anything you might need in a pinch. Unfortunately their prices are crazy high and they don't always have many checkout lanes open. For these reasons I personally usually end up at dollar general more often. But it has got the mountain town charm, and has always had the supplies we need when there was no other stores up here.

I stopped in for the first time to try a sub-sandwich. I had no idea what to expect. I askes for a 6" turkey with everything. It looked more like 8" or 9" and I could barely get my hand around it.It had to be the best sub-sandwich I every had and only $7.99.

Best small town market you can find! It’s small but mighty and it’s quantity and quality of foods and drinks. I think the best thing about it are the people that work there. They are always willing to help you and do whatever it takes to get you what you need or want.

This is a great grocery store in the foothills. Friendly staff, big selection. They have everything Vons or Safeway would have and a lot more and a lot better. They have a huge selection of coffee. The deli's great they have a lot of other stuff in the store that you would get at hardware stores or whatever that is great. I live 20 miles down the road and I've been shopping there for 30 years plus. everynever been unhappy

We are so blessed to have Mar-Val in Prather . They always have plenty of staff and are so friendly and helpful. Good old fashioned customer service . The store is nice and organized and very clean . Great selection of fruits and vegetables which surprised us when we moved here. I didn’t have experience with Mar Val and am very happy that it’s near our home.

Marval has things that Vons in save Mart do not even carry they are more pricey than down in the valley but at the price of gas it all comes out the same their selections are great and their fruits and vegetables are fresh the meat is great and I’m glad they are here I moved up to Prather three years ago

Great small town grocery store. They have everything you need and the prices are not outrageous. They make amazingly delicious sandwiches and soup. There is also an absolutely wonderful deli case with homemade salads and fresh cold cuts and cheese. They have a nice hot food counter with great fried chicken, Jojo potatoes, fried burritos and more. They also have a fantastic beer, wine and liquor department It's a wonderful stop on your way to Shaver Lake.

I come down from Lakeshore about once a week to buy food when I'm in the area working. Employees are always incredibly friendly. Prices are pretty fair considering it's California. Reminds me of my hometown grocery store back in Arkansas. Will keep coming here whenever I'm in the area.

Great urban country store. Has a very good deli, meats are very fresh and had a wide selection of specialty beers. Quick check out and good customer service. Always some one available to answer questions and friendly.
