I went into the Poway Petco store to buy some cat food. I was pleased to see that the brand & flavors I was looking for were in stock and the prices were very reasonable. The associate at checkout was very friendly and personable. She rang up my purchases quickly and efficiently. I will be shopping more often at Petco for cat food since you started carrying more of the brands that my cats will eat!

Stopped by to grab a little something for my (cat) neighbor. The store was super neat and organized. What I appreciated the most was that there was no animal smell and my allergies didn't kick in. The staff was very helpful and friendly, I know nothing about cats or how to obtain coupons or discount stuff.

My dog just had his stitches taken out & the vet wanted me to prevent him from licking without a surgical sleeve. The girl that helped me went way beyond the call of duty. She was so helpful. She knew I was almost in tears. She fitted & even put a donut on my dog & off we went. I wish I would have gotten her name. I believe she was one of the trainers at the Poway store. She deserves a gold star.

Great service and great prices. If you love your pet, you can't go wrong with the Petco Premier Service. Also, my dog is really protective and doesn't trust many people. Pretty much, just family. She was skiddish going into the store for grooming, but she was treated very well and was very comfortable.

Awesome! New concept in pet stores.Lots of high quality food and products. Not as much as when it was PetCo but better products and especially the services...Vets, groomers, trainers, dog day care, and self was that's super easy to use. The staff is all informed, knowledgeable a d helpful. Parking is easy, store is easy to find, wheelchair accessible. I can't say enough!

The doctor and techs were very informative and compassionate when doing my dog’s end of life services. My dog was treated very nicely in his last moments of his life. He was my bestfriend and I’m glad to see him have the best care when he needed it the most.

Catrina from Poway Petco is always great and helpful. Always an amazing experience while.shopping there because she tries to help in all ways. Even if the item is not in stock she offers to call another store to find it for us or give e us a different solution to what the store carries in stock.

My dog Kona attended the Canine good citizen training which set her up for success! Kona passed the test and is now certified KGC thanks to the excellent training from Cassidy. The classes were set up in a very logical manner and the dogs in the class did so well. Thank you Petco and trainer Cassidy. Kona’s success allows us to join a therapy dog group and our goal is to visit as many institutions that we can. Our way of giving back.

I was given a birthday reward for my pup and when i went to redeem it in store even with a purchase being made (in-store pickup - order online) The sales clerk made it challenging for me to redeem my free gifts. Even knowing we just made a purchase. The email i recived for the gifts didnt say ANY where that a purchase needed to be made. It said take it in to the store to get your free gifts. End of story. She needed to call the manager to have her ring up the coupon that made it free... ugh wasted 20 min doing this and prob will think twice about going to that store again.

The veterinarians are amazing. They are thoughtful, kind, honest, caring, and most of all, they know what they’re doing. The clinic charges are reasonable, especially if you sign up for their program.We have a senior dog who needs a little extra TLC, they are very kind and gentle with her. They take their time, in other words they don’t rush the appointment just to get her out of the way.We recently moved and I drive the extra 45-50 minutes to bring her to them because I know she is in good hands.

Outstanding place here. From the Vet care to the grooming dept. & the brands they carry for your pets. Dr. Day & team were the most warming & informative staff I've ever been in contact with. You didn’t have the pet food I was looking for but I was told that we could order it and you would for no cost ship it to me in a day or two and then your computers were down and I stood around for at least 45 minutes while you tried to get the computer up and running, and it never did happen, and I finally got discussed and left

Their reptile section is not very well kept. Most of the meal worms and other live feed products were already dead with mold being found in a few of them. I was not greeted either

So clean and beautiful! A great place to self bathe your dog. $14 and then get everything ready for you. I will definitely be using them again and again. Staff was super friendly to me and my dog. Great sale prices on dog food and treats.

I have been bringing my dog the groomer and vet at the Poway Petco for years. I have also used the self pet wash. Staff is kind and helpful. Prices are a little high but I use the app and vital care to ghelp with that.

The semi chubby girl working at petco grooming station in poway is super fake I saw a elderly lady walk out of the grooming and she said" I'm glad she's gone I can't stand her or her dog " I was shocked that she didn't have shame to say that to her coworker but I front of me as well she's acts Friendly but she is rude and 2faced bish. Never coming back going some where else. She's the one that her skin looks pale .

Went in for a grooming appointment after we missed our appointment 6 weeks ago. My dog was checked in, groomer asked one last question does Teddy have any medical conditions? I said five days ago he had a seizure which he’s had before. Which the on-site vet has a record of. She goes back to talk to the grooming manager. Came out and said she had a safety meeting and they’re no longer taking dogs with recent medical conditions without seeing a vet due to high stress being groomed. I said wouldn’t it be safer for him to be here if he does have a seizure to walk him over to the vet on-site? She said it’s not about safety ”even know she said it was a safety meeting” but company liability. I said didn’t I just sign off on the waiver releasing all liability? She says yes but I could still sue the company. I asked could you show me in the policy where it says this? She said no it's new. We have an appointment with our new groomer at The bark & collar in Poway.

This Petco in Poway is definitely better than the Mira Mesa. The staff is nice. They greeted me at the door. The layout is different but I found what I needed. The staff was friendly and engaged and small talk about the stores layout and why it’s different from its sister store in Mira Mesa.

I really like this store. It's a good step up from your standard pet ott with everything they have to offer. From classes, socializing groups, veterinary services, etc. To their awesome membership that comes with a bunch of actually useful benefits.I love how since they have so much high quality stuff they always have brand name, high quality goodies on the clearance table which has helped Luna and I get through to payday more times than 1. As far as chain pet stores go this one is my favorite. Keep up the good work please!

Pet Coach is the best way to ensure that your beloved doggies get the best of everything. From the wide variety of dog food, toys and let’s not forget dog treats. The doggie day care is the best. The play area is spanking clean and the attendants ensure that your dogs get the care and attention they need. I have been taking my Louis to day card for about 6 weeks now. He loves it there and look forward to it every morning. In fact, he can wait to leave the house knowing he’s meeting up with best the people at Pet Coach. I worry less at work knowing the he’s well taken cared of. So I want to thank all the employees at Pet Coach. You all are amazing and caring. For those who are reading this review, I encourage you to check Pet Coach out. Once you step in the store, there’s no turning back. And why should you and when there’s no reason to?😉

Showed up for a scheduled grooming appointment with my dog who has been getting her nails trimmed at petco for years. When I arrived, they asked if she was on any behavioral medications to which I answered, honestly, that she has had a daily Prozac prescription for over a year. Since starting this medication, she's been groomed at petco a dozen times and I've never had any issues or been asked this question. After a lengthy consultation in "the back" the stylist returned to tell me that, per petco policy, they do not accept dogs taking behavioral medications. She was polite in refusing me service but this sounded unusual to me as, like I said, I've never had this problem at petco. The stylist said it was a new-ish rule so I contacted petco's customer service for more info about the new policy.As I expected, customer service confirmed that no such rule exists. They reported that petco only requires up to date vaccinations and has no policies against behavioral medications. I'm not sure why this location lied about their policies, but it was very inconvenient after planning my day around a scheduled appointment. At least customer service was apologetic.
