Our family just got back from a weekend trip here. First and foremost, I would like to thank Darin, the camp host, for making our stay feel so welcomed! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and is willing to share that with his guests. We stayed in a yurt and it was very clean and spacious when we arrived. There were sheets provided, but we brought our own. Our campsite was so big and spacious, and located right behind us was a small creek and a beautiful meadow. We did extensive research before booking. Some essentials that we brought and we felt was necessary:-Mosquito net with canopy (bugs can get annoying, comes with nature of course) but it really helped with enjoying meals and cooking-Large gallons of water & portable shower (no running water on site)-Pump gas at Porterville before heading up mountains (no gas stations for an hour going towards campsite)

Silly us for not reading the reviews on here and seeing that there is no running water. That made for an unwelcome surprise when we arrived.Very quiet and idyllic with some little critters for company.Host not on site and camp shop not open on Mondays or Tuesdays at the moment.Pit toilets stunk! No lights in the ones at the back of the loop. Did have toilet paper though.Dumpster was closed and locked. These ups and downs mean I'm only rating this 3*Nearby activities: The Trial of 100 Giants trialhead was directly opposite.

Great campground, well kept and the camp host is super nice. One thing to note is that if you're trying to go past ponderosa on the highway to hit the Tule River swimming holes or Stagg Tree the road is closed at the moment. Tail of 100 giants is right across the street and is relatively untouched even though most of the area was affected by forest fires in recent years.

My family and I came out to give our kids an experience camping. We had way more fun and way more adventures here than we ever thought we could have. We had wild life come to our camp and give us all a great memory. The host and his wife are warm welcoming and very friendly. We are 100% coming back for another visit.

What a friendly; quiet; serene campground. We tent campers and had a great time. No electricity/ water provided just heads up. No bear boxes but there is a large beat proof dumper at the station. And it's across the street from the the trail of 100 giant trees. Great views.Playground: No playground, your kids will need to have an imagination .Restrooms: Clean Porta potty style bathroom enclosure.Dog-friendliness: Seems to be dog friendly just please pick up their waste and don't let them potty at others campground=rude. And attracts animals. Barbecue: There are grills attached to the grounds firepits.

This place was amazing!!! The view from spot 009 was perfect, I could see all the beautiful trees. The camp host(forgot his name, but he was tall and bald) and his wife were lovely. The camp host was super friendly and knowledgeable about hiking trails to go on and other things In the area. He showed me a map of where to go and what to see. Unfortunately, we left early becasuse my bf and I weren't prepared for the 28° weather at night and we were tent camping without insufficient gear. The host was super nice and came by to check on us and we told him we were leaving one night early and he offered to give us extra blankets to extend out stay. We were already packed up but thanked him for his offer. Overall we had an amazing time and positive experience here! I would recommend this campground to everyone! I simply cant say enough nice things about the host too :)

Took my daughter, her friend, and our dogs camping and the camp hosts were very kind and generous. It’s directly across from Trail of 100 Giants and has a cute little gift shop. I would definitely recommend this campsite.

We stayed there for one night in yurt. The location is perfect. But it was super hot during the day in super cold during the night. So take plenty of warm stuff like sleeping bags and only one per person not enough. There are nice hikes near by and clean restrooms. In the yurt plenty of space for up to 5 people. No light so bring with you at list two to keep one inside and one outside as you will want to go somewhere :) during the night

Beautiful campground. Sites were close together, but not intrusively so. We were in spot 4, right across the creek from a quiet meadow. Vault toilets were clean, but bring an extra roll of tp and your own hand sanitizer! No running water. Camp host is super friendly and helpful, and the little store is good for souvenirs and some basic supplies if you forgot something. It got cooler overnight than we expected and it was breezy - recommend an extra blanket or two, even in the summer.

Absolutely gorgeous, natural campground. Darren, the camp host is a gem and was super helpful and followed social distancing constantly wearing a mask. We did not have a reservation and on a weekday snagged the last camping spot - reservations recommended. It’s an adorable small campground in walking distance to the Trail of 100 Giants which is fun and informative but very manicured. The area has a lot to offer (e.g Dome Rock) which the camp host is knowledgeable about and will gladly help you find an activity that suits your desires. I can only recommend staying there.

Nice, rustic campground across from the Trail of 100 Giants. Rustic means no running water ( bring your own to drink and wash) and only pit toilets. Small campground. 15 sites, six of which have yurts in them. If you stay In a yurt, you have to provide your own bedding. Campsites are small and more suited to tents than RVs. No phone signal! No WiFi!

We stayed for just one night at this campground last week. Overall, it is a great campground. We stayed in Campsite #7, which you won’t find on the NPS campground map, or anywhere on the wee web. I didn’t know if it actually existed but when we got there our neighbor at Campsite #8 told us to go down the path to the best campsite around, and he was right. Campsite #7 is very secluded from the others, since it’s downhill from the other sites and you have to walk down the path to get to it. The site has a wide area to spread out if you have the max 6 people. You can also access the meadow by crossing the little stream behind the site. It is incredible during sunsets, and sunrises, and night walks to star gaze (stared right at the Milky Way here). Lucky for us, we were up here during the Perseid meteor shower so it was such an unforgettable sight seeing those things dash through and light up the night sky for a split second.HOWEVER, if you don’t like primitive tent camping, this isn’t for you. The toilets are porta-potties so we had to resort to going in the bush for the sake of our noses. But if you’re okay with that, the bathrooms are right across from the parking spot for this campsite. The camp host was also off for the season so we had to bring our own firewood. The website also says no running water, and so we brought plenty and I never checked if they did or not -sorry!Activity-wise, The Trail of 100 Giants is just across the street and is family friendly (mostly flat) and wheelchair accessible. You can definitely spend a few hours here with kids!Since we were here only overnight, we made our way 30 minutes northeast to Camp Nelson. Google “Natural Water Slide” in that area (and No, not the Seven Teacups!). There is a 3/4 mile hike uphill on a dirt road from the trailhead, so bring plenty of water as there is no shade and the hot sun is inescapable. It does make for the cold water afterwards worth it! The water slide is awesome but the deep pool at the bottom is extremely cold!! It knocked the breath out of me so make sure someone can pull you up if you need it! Also very slippery so take your time waking in/around the wet areas. You can take your babies and puppies here too with lunch! Just down the ways from this slide is a “baby” slide that goes into a shallow pool, and a natural wading pool perfect for little kids! Get here early before the crowd and you will not regret the drive/hike! Preset the location on your GPS/Google Maps as there is no service up here!We will definitely stay here again, and next time we’ll bring the kiddos!

My niece&I went here on the anniversary of my sisters passing; Darren, the camp host, was so incredibly kind&sensitive 2our situation. We’d arrived2find some1already camped n our site&he was able2relocate us n the most lovely, perfect site next2the meadow-we both thought my sister would appear as an angel floating above the wildflowers, welcoming us2heaven! He did all this while dealing w/his Fathers heart surgery-to me, Darren was like a big brother or favorite uncle making sure we were taken care of. This place feels like a new home away from home! The ladies n the shop&the parking lot attendant were also very generous w/their time, suggestions&stories- this was my1st time n the sequoias but it sure wont be my last- i tip my hat& raise my glass2this wonderful family/crew-THANKU💚💚💚💚

This is one of those places that brings relaxation to a higher level. I think Darin and Michelle are a big part of that. That trail of 100 giants is just one of those unexpected gifts.

Sooo beautiful. Check it out. The trail is easy, and great for a leisurely stroll. Camping in yurts is possible for under $100. A gift shop on the premises. The drive takes a bit but well worth it. Things to see and do along the way.

Campsites are on top of each other, with two exceptions. No bear boxes, had a bear run out in the road a few miles from the campground.Pit toilets were quite dirty. No water.Very expensive for what it is at $28 a night to pitch a tent.

One of the best small campgrounds near a giant Sequoia Grove. Not too crowded, and we stayed in one the yurts, which was nice. The facilities could use some fixing and updating

Making reservation via website is impossible and the wait time for the 800 is over an hour. Not good serve you need to turn reservations over to a private company that is customer friendly .
