If they didn't price gouge soo much they'd be a good store. But when I pay 8.99$ for a cake at Safeway in in Placerville and 14.99$ for the same cake at Pollock Pines Safeway ,kind of weird. Also,the same ketchup I buy at Safeway in Placerville is 4.99$,at Safeway in Pollock Pines it's 9.00$.Just weird is all.

Complete one star. Won’t even fill a prescription from a licensed doctor. Could have used the Veterans Affairs but this was closer. Thanks for nothing and no help. Big disconnect.

Great little small town grocery store. They have a surprisingly great selection of gluten free items for my Celiac kiddos! We are new to the area but will definitely be stopping in frequently.

This Safeway has been my go to grocery store all my life. My family and I (there are a lot of us) did the bulk of our shopping there. It's gotten so bad that I don't go there if I don't have to. Nor do most of my familyMoldy fruit (more than once), meat that is more than 40% fat (more than once) that I have to cut off and can't be used. Which only leaves about half of the meat that I pay a lot for. Milk that goes bad before the date.( more than once) Vegetables that don't even last 3-4 days.(more than once)The bakery isn't any better. Things I buy on a regular basis are continually reduced in size and/or amount but the price stays the same or go up. Who ever is doing the baking isn't using a recipe or they weren't trained properly. Nothing is the same in the bakery from week to week.The prices in this store are so high that my grocery bill almost tripled. The sales are a descent savings but they run out of the sale items before the sale is over and store doesnt keep up with the regular demand for a lot of products either. There have been many times I went in and the same things aren't in stock. I'm really ticked off. We spend A LOT of money here. It just isn't worth it anymoreHopefully things will get better. Until then I'll be shopping someplace else.The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the staff is great and they do a great job considering the circumstances....and whoever it is responding to these reviews (The Owner)It doesn't make any difference to get on here and say...you'll look into it, orWe'd like to hear more about your experience.Do something.Make it better for the hardworking people of this community that have counted on and spent their hard earned money at this Safeway for as long as I can remember

Most expensive place in all the county they ought to be locked up and have their beans shot for the prices they charge in this little town. But the dinner deal is worth it 9 dollars for a entree and 2 sides. Fried chicken is back on the menu. If you want a hot sandwich be prepared to wait a while the process is slow.

This review is for the deli. We are a family of four and went in to order sandwiches. Sheena made our sandwiches and rang up our order. She was very busy at the time, but was extremely sweet and patient. I would have left a tip but was not sure if it was appropriate at the time. She is a great team member. There was another woman there who was also great, but unfortunately I did not catch her name. Great staff.

If you are going up highway 50 and need supplies for camping, skiing or your road trip this is the place to go. As the only major grocery store in the area they do not sit back and take their customers for granted, helpful and friendly. It's a great place to shop.

The only grocery store in Pollock Pines. Friendly and helpful staff. Weekends are hard to fond things in stock, too many campers who forget essentials for their trip, making it hard for the folks who live in the area. It's the only place to shop for those that live in the area...

As others have mentioned, it's expensive, and there are usually few check stands open. But I see it as a a pretty amazing grocery store for such a small town.Clean, open 24 hours, and really appreciate being able to get food and water even when the power is out! Couple this with the recently implemented delivery and contactless pickup (which has been great!) and I am a real fan.They've replaced most of their deli items with Boar's Head and their sandwiches are the best in town.

I am totally shocked!I ordered a foot long sandwich cut in half for lunch tomorrow and the next day. And two helpings, pieces, of meat lasagna for dinner tonight. I just finished eating one lasagna piece and I am satisfied.Compare the costs.$17 for sandwich (2 lunchs @ $8.50 each)$6.20 for lasagna (2 dinners @ $3.10 each)I've decided to eat lasagna for lunch and never a sandwich from Safeway again. The price is outrageous for bread, few pieces of meat and some vegetables.Unfortunately when I discovered the high cost of the sandwich at the cash register, I couldn't not buy it, because it was custom made just for me. Such a financial rip off!

I had to hop in here and write a quick review. This is the location I get my Starbucks at pretty much everyday. I try to come in when Morgan is working because she goes above and beyond to make sure my drink always come out just how I want it and she is super sweet and I always enjoy talking to her. 10 out of 10 customer service! 🙂

I don't know when the last time they cleaned their restrooms, because they are disgusting! Trash was everywhere, (toilets weren't flushed (I know it not the responsibility of the cleaning crew to flush the toilets after others, however it just added to how disgusting the restrooms were)). I along with others walked into the restroom and then immediately walked out.

Safeway in Pollock Pines, has the most knowledgeable meat and sea.food dept, hands down!!! The butcher, I believe her name is Autumn, or Somer? Anyway she has always been spot on with cooking advice and what cut goes goes good paired with wine beer or even milk?!A++++ from this retired home economics teacher or 17 years!!

Safeway in Pollock Pines is the best while I do live in Placerville I work in Pollock Pines and the Save Mart by my house is very small I like Safeway much better they are all very kind courteous and very helpful loading my groceries into my car

Worst Safeway I've ever been to. The ladies in the deli are awful and rude, and there's always a super long line and not enough cashiers. Its a shame it's the only grocery store between Placerville and Tahoe. They also seem to stash the shopping baskets away from the entrances. I've asked about the baskets, and they claim it's because people steal them. I'm sure this is an issue all stores deal with, but Safeway takes the easy way out.

24 hour grocery store, well staffed with friendly people, clean and a decent selection. This place gets super busy between 5 and 7 pm and there are just not enough check stands. No self checkouts, so if you are going to pick up groceries after work, expect to wait a few minutes. Not a lot of healthy or ethnic foods, but what you would expect for a town of this size.

The store is clean and efficient and the produce excellent as well as an excellent floral department however the employees on evening shift tend to treat every customer like a shoplifter and the men very rude I spend a great deal of money And don't expect special treatment but at least treat me like a person who works and pays for their food like I am sure they do as well

It's not that I hate it. It's because when I go their. They only have two lanes open and their are 10 to 20 people waiting. Then they have posted the 3 is a crowd sign. But, they don't ahear to what their sign says. The checkers are wonderful to me. But, when it's like that management should always pitch in and assist in checking. The poor checkers end up having customers get angry at them. It's not their fault but, they are the ones who get yelled at. Plus management should schedule appropriately they know in summer. It's always extremely busy this time of year.
