I understand there is a theft problem in California, but they treat every customer as if they are a thief. My wife and I went in for some spray paint. They asked if we needed help finding anything as soon as we walked in. We have lived up here for 6 years, and go there from time to time if it's an emergency. I know what isle the paint is in so we said "no thanks". He seemed bothered by that and proceeded to follow us and stand behind us watching our every move. It was very uncomfortable to the point that my wife even pointed it out to me. I noticed another couple walk in and he had to go away from us for a second to go ask them if they needed help finding anything. They also said "no thank you" . He then was going from one isle to the next to keep an eye on both couples. My wife wanted to look at paint samples after we got the spray paint and I was going to grab some Grinding discs . Now he was running between three isles trying to watch the other couple as well as my wife and I. Another employee came over to relieve him so he could go stand behind the other couple. It was very uncomfortable, and I've noticed the same behavior on prior visits. I get that there are some tweakers in PP but to treat every customer that walks in the door, as if they are going to steal from your business is just bad buisness. With the new Harbor Freight that just opened down the hill, I think they should be a little more welcoming to the customers that are willing to pay their high prices. We want to support our local businesses, but not if they are going to be such weirdos. It's actually kind of creepy to have the employee watching your every move with a fake smile . I think this will be our last visit to this establishment. It's just a shame that they want to push away one of the few people that are still willing to pay more for convenience.

I like keeping money in my community so I try to shop locally. Friendly staff, very helpful right when you walk in the door. No waiting on big box store staff to help and the hardware store always has what I need.

Best hardware store experience ever! Rotor loves everyone there, and they are so sweet to him... plus they are so careful to stock a little bit of everything we all might need in a pinch and will always special order anything else. It's cheaper than driving to the big box place and it's fun to visit.

Living in a town with very few stores, somehow we got lucky enough to have our own Hardware store. It's kind of the place "where everybody knows your name" and the staff is made up of neighbors who know why your toilet fixture is worn out and how to replace it. They've got every kind of tool, gadget, fixture and impulse gifts that a person could need. I love it.

really upset with them today. misplaced a receipt wanted to use items for a exchange don't. Kid said he cannot do that. the barcode and my card is tied to the items and less than 30 days, and all other company's can do that. like lowes, homedepot, office depot. shall I continue. I traveled 15 different states in 3 months & they cannot return a cheap item for exchange. they were able to do it before so what changed beside new workers..

Love this store! The people are very friendly and helpful! You will never find yourself wandering around looking for something on your own waiting for help. The prices are a little higher than going to Home Depot but it is usually worth it to not have to drive into Placerville if you are in the area

The employees are nice and TRY to be helpful but the "return rules" are ridiculous!! I spoke with two other customers in the parking lot because I was so upset on my THIRD try trying to return an item. Now I have to drive home, again and try returning the item ( because it had a number missing) AGAIN! It was damaged! I offered.. "just give me a discount"... Of course that was too easy. So yet another 18 mile round trip!! It's Home Depoe for me from now on!

We were looking for various things for RV maintenance. The gentleman who assisted went out of his way to help us find exactly what we needed, and made helpful suggestions. We never felt rushed, and we left the store with all required items.

They do accept HEAP voucher however only carry 1 type of wood pellet which cost what we pay now plus another half of that soooo i get 50 bags not 75...totally a 3 for gouging but at least nice.

Absolutely horrible attitude by employees. Holly, Was very rude when asked simple questions about renting a Mini excavator. When asked if there was a way to call me back when it would be ready, She decided to have a snarky response stating that "ma'am. I said it would be down for a while." I asked, "okay, for a couple of weeks then?" She said, "ma'am I mean like, ordering parts from china... so like a month then." I said, "thanks, and hung up."If you want your customers to call you back and give you business, maybe have a talk with your employees that their high-school teenage drama attitudes can stay at home.

That's the last dollar they will ever get from me. They sell inferior products. Their $20.00 hickory hammer snapped to pull a nail. Went there with the hammer, males in the store always helpful and said they would take care of it. Purchased $138.00 more stuff and Patti wants to argue over the inferior hammer, I told keep the hammer give it to their vendor. They lost this 200 a month paying customer, Home Depot here I come
