I have been to this Ace hardware store a few times over the past year and I never got dissatisfied with the service level. The store is very clean and welcoming. People there are friendly and if they see you smiling, they smile back and greet you.I recommend this store for people who want help with their DIY projects or quick home fixes. Their associates are very knowledgeable as well as resourceful.

Great local hardware store with a wide selection of lumber and materials. I was surprised at how big the store is and the amount of tools, supplies, etc. they have. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I definitely plan on going back.

Shower facet or trim kit replacement could be either a simple DIY project taking 30 mins or a frustrating project giving you nightmare. That is why it took me a few years to finally take on this project. First, you need to select the right trim kit, hoping it will just fit the existing rough in valve. If it does not fit, it is like opening a can of worms. Replacing a rough-in valve is very difficult, it is even challenging for professional plumbers.I came to Richert Lumber ACE Hardware Pleasanton. After talking to Clint about my project, he started to search from the catalogue. Clint is so nice and patient, we ended up spending 45 mins to help me make the selection, then he called me when the products arrived. My house is only 10 years old, but new trim kit of the same brand is not compatible with the existing rough in valve!!! It was where my nightmare started.After I told Clint about the issue, he called the supplier multiple times, finally, it was concluded that a new valve was needed for the new trim kit. Back and forth, I consulted many of them, most of them said it is NOT possible to install a new one unless you make a bigger opening using the remodeling plate, which would not fit the style of other bathroom hardwares. The project was stuck, so I was in desperation!...Long story short, Mr. Clint stood by me, guiding me through the whole process with many phone calls, believing that it is still doable to replace the valve. Finally, when I sent him a picture of finished installation, he replied that the gap between handle and plate seems to be a bit bigger than shown in the catalogue.Wow!!! Amazing Clint simply takes this project as if it were his own, his obsession to the customer satisfaction is impeccable. Richert Lumber ACE hardware is not just for the products they sell, it offers every customer with its true service at its best. Every time we walk into the store, we are greeted with friendly smile and expert advice. There are many people like Clint in the store, Thank you all so so much for your excellency in customer service, our neighborhood store!

writing a long review, since I was left very upset that my experience , which was totally opposite of the high customer service standards they advertise.I went to the store yesterday for the first time, hoping to get some guidance for my project.But the gentleman behind the building material desk was very unprofessional, and didn’t make me feel welcome.I mentioned I need guidance on the right grade of plywood to choose for my cabinet project. Before I could even finish my sentence..“ SIR, we can’t help you decide , you have to know what you want”I tried to explain, specifically what I wanted, but was cut short several times.Then, I inquired if they can rip the plywood for me. Again, without waiting for me to finish.“ SIR, we can’t make your closet …”I requested he let me finish my sentence.. clarifying that I’m asking either they can make some straight cuts so I can carry the plywood home easier.“ okay, it’s $3” for every cut. “ in a tone that felt like he was dissuading me.Anyways, I went to the lumberyard hoping to get some help.Made a brief mention to the lumberyard associate that I smelled strong odor of propane in the area,“ you think we’re about to blow up in flames , he joked”Anyways he shows me around the plywood and suggested I go for the ACX plywood grade without much explanation. Since there are no price labels, I ask him how much it’ll cost. He pages the office and can’t figure out what they’re saying .. So tells me.“It’s either $18 or $80”I went in to inquire myself, and was told $90.So, given I was presented with either rude or clueless folks.I gave up my plan to buy any lumber from there.Decided to at least buy some wood working clamps I needed for my project. Went and asked the associates where to look. The same guy misguided me, and pointed me towards the wrong aisle (30-31 he said).That was it for me…And I left upset and confused how my experience was in contrast of what others speak of this store.

I have always shopped at Richert due to the great service level and helpful employees. But today they went above and beyond and I just had to share.I went there this morning to buy some bolts. Later there was a knock on my door, and a guy from Richert lumber was there. I recognized him, but was not sure why he was at my house. Well, he held up my wallet and said he found it in the parking lot!!Wow, I had not yet realized it was lost. Now this is way more that customer service, this is customer care. Imagine all the hassle this act of kindness saved me.Really made my day :)

Excellent hardware store with a large selection of item. A lot of hard to find things like spring washers, neoprene washer, etc. they have drawers with all sorts of fasteners. A large selection of faucet gaskets. A great store with nice parking in front. Helpful employee. “Old timers” with good knowledge.

They have plumbing fixtures, all types of hardware, electrical, outdoor power equipment, tons of specialty lumber, cabinets, doors - you name it. Both standard and high-end quality. Their best service is experienced Meyers who can direct you to the best solution.

Super good selection, super fair cutting prices ($3/line up to 12 foot) for a table rip.Was looking for some specific trim/casing to upgrade some developer-builder done cabinetry. This project would not be done, or I would be renting a table saw to get the job done, without their help!Top that off a bit, Richert is a fine store with a good layout, good selections, and nice staff.

Do not let the outside appearance fool you. This store is large and well stocked with anything you may need. I only had a short amount of time to look. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable for my questions.

Great service on the phone and in person. They had what I needed in stock. Lowes and home depot required a special order and a 4-week lead time. I was able to finish my project in one day.

Always a good place to find most of what I need. Plumbing, electrical, paint, tools, hardware. Associates are helpful, and knowledgeable. Store is always clean and for the most part I can get what I need in one trip!

Richert lumber is a rare find: Well stocked, helpful employees, competitive prices. Unfortunately, this can't be said about most hardware stores these days. My only complaint would be that they close a bit early, so if I need something from the hardware store you'll find me headed to Richert Lumber on my lunch break. But hey, it's worth it.

Hard to find a place like this anymore. Friendly staff who will always stop what they’re doing to help you out, good selection in all areas, close to town and easy to access. Also very reasonable pricing, agreeable return policy, and free coffee! I’ve been coming to Richert for years and have never been disappointed.

Great big hardware store with a warm friendly heart. It reminds me of Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) in San Ramon before it went out of business. Great selection, exceptional personal service, and great prices.I discovered this place while researching every general plumbing supply store from Walnut Creek to Livermore, looking for the best selection and best pricing for a bathroom remodel. This wasn't the first place my general contractor recommended, but it definitely was the best place he recommended.General contractor discounts can be applied to every general customer order, at least for the plumbing fixtures I've ordered so far. I can't wait to go back there with my wife for our next bathroom (or any room) remodel.

I have known the Richert family for decades. I have been coming here since it was a shack selling just fencing materials. It has certainly changed over the years and now they have just about anything you could need, and if they don’t have it, the help desk can order just about anything else.

Have to say I was very dissapointed with management veing unable to resolve a problem i had. Instead of offering me options they said thats how it is. Not the quality of service I would expect...cant believe im saying this but have been treated better at Home Depot.

I would have to say that Reichert Lumber is a pretty good place to go if you are the every day do-it-yourselfer or a commercial contractor. They even have items would be helpful to the hobbyists wood-worker.. Everything from the plumbing to the paneling and more. I have been to this particular location several times and I have always located what I needed. Now I need to mention that with the availability of nearly everything you would need to do just about anything in your house AND yard that all of this comes at a price and Reichert knows this and unfortunately reflects it in their pricing. I don't know that I blame them for wanting to stay in business though. They are in a very nice location there store is always neat and organized and I can actually locate that PVC fitting believe it or not. Anyway they are also very helpful when asked a question and every one of the employees looks like they actually care about themselves and that is rare now-days... It's also rare to approach a person who is employed at a hardware or building supply that is actually happy to help you and NOT TELL you that they DO NOT WORK IN THAT ISLE and simply turn their backs and walk away grumbling something that really doesn't make any sense whatsoever!.. Keep it up Reichert but let's let the price fall just a little bit for us little people who don't have the budget that others do but still have the very same needs and will to do it themselves...

Do not go there for car key copies, some time ago went there to make some copies of AKS keys with a friend and everything worked flawlessly, friendly staff and so, now. Very rudely was told by a guy there that I must go to the dealership to do that, they treated me like I was a thief trying to make copies to break into cars. Very very dissapointed.

Richert Lumber Ace Hardware is a treasure among hardware stores. The expertise of the people who work there makes it obvious that they have worked as professionals - and professionals in the trades continue to buy there. For projects big and small, they almost certainly have what you need. And if you need guidance (because you're a homeowner, like me, and not a pro) they can definitely help. The fact that they carry lumber and moulding is a big plus over your average hardware store. And there's just no comparison to the big-box stores. Give them a visit.

This is a good place with lots of good stuff and knowledgeable people. It is not as big as Home Despot or Lowe's but it has a very good stock and good prices all in one place.

These guys are really really friendly and helpful. This is the way things used to be before home depot and lowes ran a lot of these places out of business. Want a key made, sure you can go to HD and after 45 minutes if your lucky have someone come and help you if they aren't on a break and after that maybe 2 times out of 5 your keys will actually work. Or you can go to Richerts and whatever you need they will help you even to find the guy or gal if they can't do the work for you. Much more calming experience and worth maybe the extra 5% expense if that, but think of all the money you will save not having to go to bar to deal with frustration of trying to deal at HD.
