I absolutely love this bookstore, and go into it every time I'm on Main Street in Placerville. It's great to see bookstores at all any more, much less with such a great variety of books and great prices. I hope The Bookery can remain forever a part of Main Street!

This place is fabulous. You easily get lost in the shelves & shelves of books - even my elementary-age kids were completely absorbed in the shelves (or searching for the store's cats).

This bookstore is amazing! All of the staff are super nice and very helpful. There is an awesome selection of books to pick from. They shipped some old books for me and I was worried about them getting to me in one piece but they packed them very carefully and they arrived in perfect condition. I can't wait to go visit again!

Excellent book store. Aisles are narrow, reminiscent of the old days. Thousands of paperback and hard cover books. Fantastic staff, knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be back to order future books by my favorite authors. Definitely a must on your road trips and a local long time establishment.

What a great shop! Owner and staff were super friendly and helpful- they even gave me a free Mylar wrap of a book I purchased as a gift for my Mom. Definitely a must stop if in Placerville!

Very cool little (big) store! So many good books to choose from in very specific categories. I went there for three books and left with all 3 within 15 minutes, though I wish I had more time to spend in there! I'll be back!

This is such a neat place. It's not your typical book store but rather and old fashion one with all kinds of selections. My wife and kids all found books they liked and at a very affordable price.

Wonderful bookstore. The Bookery is what you expect a used bookstore to be. A labyrinth of corridors and shelves, well-organized, with an enormous selection in all categories and genres. Very friendly, helpful staff; including the dog and cat.If you can't find what you want, they can help you find it. A great place just to browse and enter the world of books.

I loved seeing all the books in this quaint store. They had a great selection of books. My dad found a couple of early print Tom Swift hardbound books that he used to enjoy during his early childhood. They made a nice addition to his growing collection. If you love reading and you love books, then this bookstore is a MUST!!

Great little mom and popish store on main street. Have been there a couple times and each time the staff has been so friendly and helpful. Has new and used books. I went in for one book and ended up looking for a book I read in the 80's. They located it,ordered it,and I had it within a couple days. I was going to go to barnes and noble but so much happier I came here. Only drawback is I wish they stayed open later. Help support local shops over big corporations. If you love books check this place.

What a cool used book shop! Just when you think you’ve reached the end of the store, you turn the corner and there’s more. They had a great collection of newer books (every Stephen King book it seemed) and some truly beautiful antique finds. The staff members were also super sweet and knowledgeable :)

The two women who own, run and have created this store over 30 years are an amazing font of knowledge and friendly women. The store is known far and wide, is packed with so many treasures and always has something I need. Don't miss this experience! It's iconic and you'll meet cool folks there too. It's the buzz!

Great collection of used books. Love the winding maze of rows upon rows from floor to ceiling of books. Little bit hard to find something on your own, but staff is very helpful and quickly find what is needed after behind asked.

It's a small, tight, used bookstore, but it's filled with wonders. I was able to find enough Tolkien to satisfy my thirst, but not enough Stephen King paperbacks. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their subject.

Been going here for many years, the prices can sometimes be beat by online sellers but the experience can't. I bring my friends here when I show them Placerville because it's such a nice and unique little place. There's usually a dog or cat or both hanging around the shop so beware if you have allergies but otherwise enjoy the company!
