This place is adorable and the pie and cobbler were amazing, and as good as mine, and I make some of the best! Lol The play area for the kids is beautiful and perfect for a sunny day to play! There's kumquat trees full all around it too! Dorthy helped us and told us little back story about her family and the land, so sweet of a experience! Oh and the humming birds were everywhere and the Asian pears were incredible!

I was passing through the area in March and saw all of the wonderful enticing signs along the way and finally succumbed and decided to pop in.The shop where their pies are sold is approximately a mile in off of the main road, but it's such a lovely country drive with signs all along the way to keep you from guessing and some even made me giggle. And I didn't mind the drive because I really wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere on that day.When I finally arrived I felt super blessed because I was the only one there, and apparently that's not the norm. I was greeted and helped by one of the owners, whose wife makes the pies. We had a lovely conversation, and he was extremely pleasant and very kind.I had been craving a good berry pie for quite some time, which is what drew me in. I ended up purchasing a blackberry/raspberry pie. OMGOODNESS! Pie baker is not just a baker, but a culinary artist! I am 65 years old, and I can honestly say, without a doubt, that this was the best pie that I have ever eaten. Divinely delicious! The crust was the perfect thickness and the perfect texture and the berry filling was abundant, firm and sweet, but not too sweet. The pie was absolute perfection!Honestly, it's a good thing that I don't live so close because I would probably have to get one more then I should. 🤭 I regret not taking the time to take photos because the pie was not only delightful to eat, it was also beautifully presented.

I love the atmosphere of this place. It's very quiet and not nearly as busy as apple hill. There's lots of pies, cookies, and other desserts. They also have veggies like tomatoes, squash, and peaches available by the pound for reasonable prices. They had apple pie sundaes for 6$ each which I had to try! You get a lot for the prices and it's super tasty. It was really nice to sit under the wisteria and watch the hummingbirds. Super relaxing and a nice drive to get some snacks!

Had a truly great time here! The pies and cobblers are absolutely phenomenal! The prices are more than fair for the size and quality of what you get. We have been a couple times now and everytime is always a real treat! If you have kids, like we do, they have a large play area complete with play structure and toys. For the parents they have a beautiful natural canopy pergola to relax under and enjoy the sights and sounds of the orchard.Cannot recommend highly enough! If you live anywhere near you should make the drive out to this small private farm tucked into the beautiful hills of El dorado County.

Cute little bake shop. Nice drive down the one lane country road. Nice people at the shop, nice yummy pies. There is a kids area with some picnic benches. Worth the ten minute drive off highway 50.

Follow the signs!!! Just keep going the pies are worth it... We stopped here after visiting the gold rush museum in Coloma. Beautiful farm. Workers were in the orchard picking berries. Nice picnic area and play area for the kids. Hidden gem.Also they have sugar free jam... Was so happy to find strawberry for my dad. I haven't tried it yet and will update when I do.

Hooverville Orchards is probably the best kept secret in all of El Dorado County. They offer fresh fruits and vegetables as well as frozen, unbaked pies that are both regular or gluten-free and even some that are sugar free. They have a delightful picnic area with trees in the shade for your family's enjoyment.

There's a nice hike down to the river nearby that is a great excuse to be in the area and go hard on some bake good. Peach & berry, do it. Cowboy cookies, do it. Navel 🍊, do it.

Best pies and jam in the placerville area, or anywhere. I really love their caramel apple pie and three berry pie. They always have fresh fruit, harvested from their orchards, available. It’s a family ran business. Most days you will find Dell running the bake shop while his wife is in the kitchen baking up fresh pies daily. They are always warm and friendly. Can’t recommend this place highly enough, they are amazing.

Hands down the BEST farm in Placerville !! It's a little of the beaten path but soooooooo worth it. My husband and I are skipping Apple Hill and heading straight for Hooverville Orchards when we're craving the best pie we've ever eaten. The crust is light , flaky and amazing and the fillings are better than anything I've tasted in my 54 years . The produce is fresh and delicious. OMGoodness did I mention that they have brownies to die for?! The atmosphere is calming and so relaxing. They have quite a few hummingbird feeders and I've never seen so many hummingbirds. It feels like a magical place. Also thank you to the family that runs it. You were patient with my questions and very helpful in picking out a pie. We're very very excited to try all of the MANY yummy things that the amazing baker creates. Hooverville Orchards is exactly the balm my soul was craving. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's an adventure driving out to Hooterville. The farm is beautiful, so well taken care of, the bakery is the best I have ever had. I bought a peach blackberry pie and pecan shortbread. Both were so buttery and the fruit was perfectly sweet. I wish I lived closer because I would go there all the time. The baker's husband is very friendly and helpful. He's a lucky 👨 man.

We stopped this morning very early around 8 o’clock it was beautiful and peaceful. Although it wasn’t open the owner came out to our van to to greet us with a smile. He offered to bring us a fresh baked pie even tho they were open! We chose peach blackberry with crumble topping. It was the best pie we’ve ever had!! He brought out an apple slice as well it was heaven. We will definitely stop again.

Watch for the sign off highway 49. Old fashioned country fruit farm. Awesome homemade pies. Very kid friendly huge garden play area with covered tables and equipment. Hummingbirds are fun to watch as they perch on feeders.

If you’re looking for the best pie place near Placerville, this is it!We drove all the way from Montana to Placerville because we heard they had great pies. We tried lots of different locations in the area, and Hooverville Orchards was by far our favorite.The pie is both delicious and beautiful! The location is quaint and fun with beautiful trees lining the drive and ponds and a shady picnic area. The owner was so nice and we really enjoyed chatting with him. Now we are determined to come back every year.

Wow! This place! The pies are so good and so plentiful. It’s a little out of the way but absolutely worth it. Last time we went I bought a bunch of frozen pies, local honey, jam, cookies, and farm fresh eggs.Cherry pie, cherry raspberry pie, pecan pie, apple pie are some of what we chose. Their list is over 20 types of pie though. You can get fresh ready to eat, frozen and already cooked, or frozen raw for you to cook at home.The first time I sent a friend here he was so tickled that a grandma was making the pies while teaching her grandchild how it’s done.Local family business selling quality products here.

A gem on Highway 49. The Berry Apple Pie was amazing, not overly sweet, allowing the fruits' natural flavors to shine. The setting is gorgeous, with beautiful roses, Hummingbird feeders to entice winged beauties, and a picnic area beneath Wisteria.

Small and homey feeling, had a bunch of pies and cobblers. I wanted to try more flavors like caramel apple pie but held off (still bought two pies for two people...), many jams, jellies, butters. There was a freezer with some pies you could grab yourself and some fresh picked fruit you could purchase, cherries, raspberries, blueberries, and apricots! They had some bumper stickers for sell, I wish they had some smaller stickers for sell, I'm a sucker for those.Nice gentleman helped us out, we'll definitely be back!

This place is amazing. We drove to several pie shops in town to try them all. Hooverville was by far our favorite place. Pies are amazing and the owner was wonderful. We will make our annual pilgrimage to Hooverville orchards. Set well off the road and in a fun setting. Not nearly as commercial as the other shops. Two thumbs way up.

Amazing farm to stop by. We were driving past and decided to make a little detour. It was pretty empty so kids had the whole playground to themselves. We got their cherry crumble pie with icecream. The cherry pie was out of this world delicious. I have never had a better one. The crust and crumble and the filling. Everything was amazing. And the icecream was also very very smooth and amazing. We will absolutely be back!

fantastically fresh produce. The best preaches I have ever had. Their combo berry and peach pie lasted about 10 minutes after I arrived home and our company found out. Heading back for more this weekend. Really worth the trip for very fresh fruit.

Found this delightful place while driving through Coloma with friends. We followed their signs & what a great place for fresh pie. The apple pie was spectacular. They are kid & dog friendly. Follow the signs that you see for Hooverville Orchard. You will enjoy!

Definitely worth the side trip. They have a great selection of seasonal fruit and freshly-baked pies. We had the peach (quite good) and the apple (also good). The citus marmalade was bitter and grainy, so skip that.

Taking the drive down the road to Hooverville Orchards is worth it. They have a shop where you can buy fresh fruit, pies, cookies and jams. There is a lovely picnic area, and a rose garden where you can pick your own roses right off the bushes ($1 a stem). The owners are really friendly, and it's an absolutely beautiful and relaxing destination.

Beautiful farm tucked away on Wallace road. Fresh picked fruit and also a small bakery shop where you can buy fresh baked(or frozen) pies. Also sell jams and preserves. Everything is reasonably priced. There is a guest area for family sit downs and a place for kids to play and run a little bit.
